About Staten Island

Staten Island is a New York City borough and island in New York Harbor. It lies between New Jersey and Brooklyn, just south of Manhattan. The History of Staten Island

The Unami people originally occupied Staten Island. After several failed attempts, Dutch settlers established a colony at Oude Dorp in 1661.
