The city of Dublin is a flourishing suburban community located just outside of Columbus. The History of Dublin

The earliest settlers made their home in Dublin in 1802, but it was the Sells family that helped the town itself develop. Benjamin and Peter Sells bought 400 acres of land in the area, giving it to their brother, John, as a gift. He brought his family to the area in 1808 and began the process of surveying lots to construct a village. John Sells decided to name the burgeoning community after his birthplace: Dublin, Ireland.

Within the next 15 years, the town became home to a store and several mills. Over the course of the next century, Dublin remained a small, sleepy town, with fewer than 700 residents in 1970. However, when Interstate 270 arrived in the area and provided easy access between Dublin and its neighboring communities, the local population began to grow significantly. New businesses were attracted by the growing workforce and convenient transportation infrastructure, and more than 5,000 people called the area home by the late 1980s. In 1987, Dublin earned official incorporation as a city.
