I arrived at 2 pm today (Saturday, August 30, 2024) to retrieve some belongings from my unit at the 1223 E New York Ave, BK NY location, only to find the facility completely closed. Despite entering my access code, the system indicated that the facility was closed, which left many paying customers, including myself, unable to enter. I was under the impression that customers could access their units even when the office was closed, but this was not the case. I attempted to reach customer service seven times for assistance, but none of the representatives could provide any information on why the facility was closed. One representative mentioned contacting a property manager at the St. John Place location, but no one arrived to grant us access. Additionally, I was provided with a phone number that turned out to be disconnected. I also asked a representative if the storage facility will reopen tomorrow, Sunday, September 1, 2024, but no one could provide an answer. I have a wedding to attend in 24 hours and urgently need to gain access to my unit. This situation is highly inconvenient, and I am concerned about the lack of communication regarding the closure. Why were customers not notified in advance? Can you please explain what happened and how this issue will be addressed moving forward?

The owner needs to fire the staff .They donot sweep neither clean everyday There is always Trash on the floors . Rat DROPPING ALL OVER THE SECOND FLOOR. RATS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM IN THIS STORAGE. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT .

Very clean. Storage is well organized

Needed a storage unit last minute and booked one online. From the online sign up to the app to access the space, the process is seamless. When I went to the space, I realized that I didn't have the first floor like I assumed. The staff were very helpful and swapped the space right away. The units are also clean and the building is air conditioned. It's both cheaper and cleaner than others I checked out.

This is the worst storage in all of USA, how can public storage from 1223 ENY auction people’s property for two late payments without notifying anyone??? This is a scam and the public should be aware of it. They label your property wrong and then purchase it themselves for a low cost. This is a total scam and they will end very bad! Do no business with them because sooner or later they all going to jail. I promise you that!

This the worst storage they auction your stuff without your knowledge and no explanation before 30 days what in the world?! . Need Justice for what they did …God don’t sleep and like ugly …this was done back door with the company involved cause the guy was park inside the storage even after closing hours. Something fishy about this whole situation

Good place to use for storage I just don't like that they don't have a place to put trash/garbage who wants to drive around with garbage in their car please re consider

Mice mice mice. Stored our boxes and furniture for 3 months, opened them in our new apartment to find mice droppings in everything. Even brought a mouse along in one of the boxes. Would avoid using this facility until they can guarantee that won't be something you have to worry about. Otherwise, the people working at this public storage were so kind and helpful, they are the only positive note I have. The mice problem is the company's issue to solve, not the employees in the office, and is not a reflection on them.

Main take away: THIS PLACE IS CRAWLING WITH ROACHES. If you love stomping bugs, come on down! What they won't tell you is they need you to be there when the exterminator is coming to open your unit for it to be treated yet they are not in the habit of informing customers of the schedule. They blame customers who store food against the rules and leave at like that. Roaches and rodents are not a priority, your concern will not be taken seriously. Unless you want to take rodents home with you, I suggest considering alternatives. Here's my honest synopsis, pros and cons. Make your informed decision thereafter. Pros: 1. Building looks good bc it is newly renovated. 2. Hallways are brightly lit by lights with sensors. 3.Girls at desk are very nice when you come to tour the property. When you sign the contract, forget about that professionalism. Don't talk to them, they don't want to be bothered. Use the app. 3. Girls can be seen making rounds throughout day. For the most part I think they do their work. 4. Prices are competitive but as a point to note, many uhaul rentals come with 1 month free storage. I found that out after I already paid for my space, which was before I rented the uhaul. If you are looking to save, this is a life hack to consider. Cons: ROACHES! 1. Girls at reception can come across gruff and rude in their tone and body language once you move in, make any inquiries or hold them accountable for the contract terms. Forget excellent customer service or any form of humanity once you move in. They just want you to pay the bill so they get paid. It's their job not a service. Are often on personal calls that you must hold for before being served. Based on other reviews I have read, this seems to be the norm for all Public Storages. 2. Trash left in hallways are not cleaned daily by staff. They will cross a tape, paper etc in the halls for days and not pick it up. As a customer I have cleaned the halls several times to secure my own unit as crawlies can move. 3. Climate control is questionable. Do not judge the temperature of the building based on the temperature of the reception area. I will think twice before leaving any valuable that requires climate control at this property. 4. Toilet & elevator often out of service and is otherwise poorly kept (toilet).

Tatyana was so nice to us She was very professional when it comes to renting unit, she always keep a smile on her face and was very pleasant to my husband and I. She walked us to the United and show us different options! We was very satisfied with the Unit we rent and would recommend Tatyana if you want to have a great customer service experience at public storage.

I cancelled my account and the next day they still charged me for a whole month . The policy is not straight forward and misleading. So I cancelled my account on the 2nd of August then they charged my card on the third stating I manually entered the info . Definitely a lie . Then they said our policy states if you cancel on the first of the month you will still be responsible for the entire month. That’s what you call stealing money and theft . So definitely not recommending or ever doing business with this company again .

I went to East New York Avenue Public Storage 6/7/23 and was helped by Deborah. Despite assisting another customer, she acknowledged my presence and quickly attended to my daughter and I. She was very friendly in a genuine way. She showed me and my daughter 2 storages and explained the promotions. The size I needed was not available but Deborah assured me that there will be more spaces available soon. The place was very clean and smelled very nice not that funky storage smell. I will keep checking.
