HEALTH HAZARD!! MOLD MILDEW AND BUILDING CODE NOT UP TO DATE! I’ve been with storage unit for over 10 years across the country. This company is an embarrassment! The elevator has not been serviced since 2013, as soon as I step off the elevator I am hit with the smell of mildew, you can’t even breath, to my surprise there was a dirty crusty sock in front of the unit i was supposed to be renting, NO WAY I cancelled the same day online never even opened the unit and since no one was in the office I wasn’t able to cancel in person, they said since no one was there I am now $200 out of my pocket that I could’ve used for food since I am In a tight position and needed the unit, but didn’t want to risk my few Items getting MOLD. I will report this to the authorities and proceed with legal action.

I do not normally take the time to leave negative reviews, but last night was such an awful experience at this location. I thought the U-haul storage in Sterling was horrific with rats destroying my furniture, last night takes the win. I went to my storage to get boxes of things I needed to get rid of, and made sure a couple of minutes before 9 I was at the gate ready to go out. Well, the app was not allowing access for some reason (Happened on the way in) so it turned into a longer wait. Once it was about 9:04pm, I finally got the message that the door is closed and not accessible anymore. I tried calling the number that is on the Google informational page, but it just kept asking about my account! The only thing I could do was slip through the gate and hope that there was still someone on the property, being there was a car parked outside. I noticed that there was a light behind the office, so I figured I would nicely knock on the door and ask for help or what I should do to exit. After softly knocking on the door, I finally got a rep from the emergency customer service line. As I was on the phone with the rep, the lady (assuming property manager) cracked open the door and said "What?". I asked if she worked there and before I could even explain my situation she said "Yeah I work here, but I am off the clock, so why you banging on my door?" I calmly advised her I was having trouble getting out the gate and that now they are not accessible. She then said "Well that's not my problem, you should know the gates close at 9pm." Then she proceeded to slam the door, while still on the line with the rep. I then told the rep "So, just had the worst interaction with this employee, and I am going to move my items to a different company because of how rude the lady was. Luckily the rep was very helpful and was able to listen to the entire encounter with their employee. I 100% understand you are closed and you have an unknown person knocking on the door. But the lady did not even ask what the problem was and what my options are. Even the rep mentioned she could have at least told me to call the emergency line. I apologize for the long review, but I do not normally leave these reviews when I have a horrific experience. The only thing keeping me from finding a new storage company is the nice lady on the phone who let me out remotely. I work in customer service, and I would have been terminated if I did that, regardless of what the issue was. I will be following up with customer service to ensure the report makes it to the appropriate individuals.

This has been the worst year and half with them! Every time I come to this facility there is never any one working in the office however, the lights and signs say open! This is the absolute worst! DO NOT RENT WITH PUBLIC STORAGE ESPECIALLY ON PRINCE WILLIAM PARKWAY!

I bought a unit this past Friday and I would like to share my extremely pleasant experience with Jenny. I was having trouble on deciding which size unit I needed and Jenny was very informal on the dimensions, what people usually store with certain sizes, and overall knowledge regarding it. She discovered my need by asking me what exactly am I trying to store (she mentioned if I did not want to tell her, that it was okay) and how much am I storing. She had a great attitude and very friendly body language and helped me decide on getting a medium sized storage. Would definitely recommend coming here since they seem to care about what they do here

She not only makes returning voicemails/missed calls a priority and with diligence, but gives customer service with kindness and a personal touch. I just wanna let you know that the only reason I come to this facility is because of the great customer service I’ve been receiving from Jenny for the past three months. It was amazing and friendly and definitely the most helpful customer service representative. I’ve had to deal with while being at Publix. She is definitely a keeper.

EDIT: Looks secure from the outside, but looks can be decieving. Never really had a problems with them until this past 1 or 2 years, besides work orders taking a year plus to fix burnt out lights. There is very high humidity levels in the "climate controlled" basement at 73%RH. My units are supposed to be climate controlled, whyIm paying more 5o protect my property, but will get down to 55F in winter and up to 79F in summer. I just recently noticed that the humidity had damaged a lot of my items that had mold growing all over the surfaces of everything. Just FYI, storage units will raise your rent usually every 6 months to a year. Comparison shop around before settling with it. And there are no lights over/in your unit They are only along the hallway outside so all your left with is residual light to use. Invest in a battery powered headlamp or lantern. I stayed late by 5-10mins one night, I know, but didnt expect to be threaten to Trespassed if it happened again. They stopped cleaning mopping/ sweeping the floors. NEW: There is now a strong smell of cat urine that wasn't there a month ago. They do have a new security camera system with many more cameras then before. The access gate is open for no reason in about 1in4 visits. The elevator is dangerous and has violations. The employee couldn't produce a valid county permit, and the one displayed was from 2014. All they could produce was just the paperwork from the third party inspectors stating the elevator has violations. It was making a ton of noise while "parking" on the top floor while shuttering and shaking. Now it almost got me stuck as I pressed the basement button, it lit, but nothing happened. Doors didnt open, nothing until I jumped and it started going down then. I called the county after the first shuttering/ noise incident. Pwc doesn't care about elevator safety. They said they dont even inspect them, a 3rd part does, but they print their own logo, name, building official's name and signature on it...but tell me they have no records for it....smh. This property is conveniently located between Dale City and Lake Ridge on Prince William Pkwy. Slow to repair lights and other items. Customer since 2017.
