Good storage unit right next to the Alexandria police station. Good service has metal screen on top to keep thieves from stealing from the top. J feel my stuff is safe

Radhia provided the best customer service I have ever had in my life. Saved my butt on a move in day and got me squared away in no time. Public Storage is legitimately one of the worst companies I’ve ever had the displeasure of being a customer of. The elevators at this location are never working. For the last 4 months, the elevators have either been totally broken to get down from my locker’s floor, or there is only one elevator in operation and it takes 20 minutes just to get down. A few weeks ago, the elevator was broken and it wouldn’t go down from our locker’s floor, only up. The problem was that there was no sign! The intercom button to call the office was broken, and when I called the office number listed in the PS app, it just took me to some call center where they told me no one was on duty to help me! So I had to bring the stuff I needed down 8 flights of stairs just so I could remove it from my locker. When I finally found the property manager, who was on site, despite what the customer service rep told me, I said “why wouldn’t you put a sign up saying the elevator doesn’t go down?” She replied “what would that do?” That is seriously the dumbest response I could have ever imagined. She said the elevator breaks all the time, she complains, and no one comes to fix it. I then asked why the number listed in the app for this location sent me to customer service. I showed her the number listed and she goes “oh that’s not the number to call the office, I don’t know why that’s there.” Seriously? What a joke of a company. I called the Public Storage corporate office to get an explanation and was told someone would get back to me. Surprise, surprise, no one ever called me back, they just put a $25 credit on my account and thought that would make it all better. For what I pay a month for a small locker ($126), I should never have to bring 3 storage tubs down 8 flights of stairs just to be able to remove it from my locker. Now, on to the every day critiques: the carts here are awful, if you can even find one. They’re cheap, plastic pieces of garbage that only have 2 turning wheels. It always smells like weed around my locker and the property, so clearly some people are storing some questionable things. I don’t judge, but at least vacuum seal your drugs! TLDR: Avoid this location if you can. You’ll be dealing with increased prices (I started here 4 years paying about $78/month and now I’m up to $126) for the same space and even worse service/“amenities.”

I was switching units to a smaller unit, and the one I booked ended up being too small. I was able to switch the unit to one size up with ease thanks to the staff (I believe the manager of the branch helped me and she was lovely!) I highly recommend this public storage in particular. I feel confident leaving my things there from a security and cleanliness perspective.

Manny was very helpful in setting up my storage unit and when I accidentally purchased a lock he refunded me. Great service! (This is a comment from my initial experience) Unfortunately my time with this company has not continued to be a positive experience. My initial check in was smooth but since then I have been repeated gaslit by staff and had much of my time wasted because of non working elevators and an unwillingness by staff to believe us about the problems

DO NOT rent a storage unit here. Sure the building is newer and cleaner than others but that doesn't outweigh the negative service. Rent was raised 3 times in two years! Power outages where not relayed to customers in advance making it difficult to access the unit and unable to use the elevator. Rent was not prorated when unit was vacated even though it was only the first of the month. The only reason vacating the unit had to wait until the first of the month was because the ELEVATOR WAS NOT WORKING. Zero understanding from the staff. Will never use Public Storage again. There are way better options in the area.

Outstanding custmer serivce form manny

I came with moving labor and moving truck but I was surprised that the elevators were out of service. They asked me to use the stairs to move my stuff out of the storage which cost me an extra 200$ for the moving labor to agree on it. In addition, there were no staff whatsoever until someone came 15 minutes later and was yelling at me because it was his break time (14:00) !!! Before you bring your truck and moving labor, check the status of everything on this facility.
