I been a customer for allstorage for a lot of years now that public storage bought them I came back and Laura help me she was so nice and explain the process also help me moved from a bigger unit to small.

While I have had horrific experiences with other Public Storage locations (i.e. Keller, TX) I can say that there haven’t been any hiccups. The problem with all storage units is they lure you in with a free month or low price and then after 4-6 months, raise the price by 25%, knowing you won’t move it all out and to a new place, every 4-6 months, for a lower rate. Well, the surprise is on them! I will most certainly do just that and after 5 months, will be doing it on March 1st—refusing to pay the 25% increase notice.

Sadly I had to move out of my unit. The increase in cost was too much I had to go somewhere else. My belongings were safe but I found a rat in my unit. I just paid my rent and I was told I would not get a prorated refund for the remainder of the month. I will not be back.

Update - no contact from the district person, no contact from public storage corporate office, now suspended for telling myside of the story. Purchased a storage unit through Storage Treasures at this location as a lien unit. Opened unit no lock cut from the customer the lockout lock was cut off all shoes in the Jordan boxes gone. The boxes stacked up the bottom boxes half crushed meaning weight was on top so someone before or after cut the lock off (see pictures) and stole 35-40 pairs of Jordan's. I tried speaking to the manager to look into it (never accused her) she immediately got defensive, refused to listen, refused to give me the regional name, confirmed it was a lien unit, said I could not contact the customer, told me dont worry about their personal paperwork, and when I called back after our conversation for a cart never answered or called me back. Rat poop all over the place, no elevator freight only (they did not put that on the auction), Rat pee all over the unit, stunk in the hallway, and outside door should be able to tie somewhere. PUBLIC STORAGE AND THEIR EMPLOYEES NEED TO INVESTIGATE THESE MATTERS!!!!

Went in to hopefully get a rental and the Laura at the Basswood Blvd. location was most helpful with assisting me with getting everything setup even with autopay. The customer service was great!

I’ve been a customer since 2017/2018 I believe. But it’s been a while. Never had an issue and now that I moved to a bigger place it was time to part ways. When I opened my storage to collect my belongings, I was surprised to see water marks on the floor. As I continued to open the unit door, reality struck. My mattress: completely soaked and stained. My wood furniture got water damaged and had to be tossed. My boxes with documents and clothes, some were damaged on the bottom and it got to some of them. Some of my tools, rusted. As I opened a box with some of my winter clothing: rat poop all over them… and with no surprise, once I opened one of the suitcases that had my blankets in it, a family of rats were living in it. Some of my curtains got chewed by them. About the location itself: There was never a dolly or cart available at my unit building. The few times I went to the storage, I had to do multiple trips to the car where if the cart was there or a dolly, it would’ve made the trips a breeze. When I went to the office the answer was simple and straightforward: I’m sorry, people steal them all the time. There’s no more carts or dolly. I’ve never had an issue over ALL the years. I rarely went to the storage, anytime I did, never had an issue. But this time around, I’m leaving with a lot of losses. Will probably seek legal advice to see on how I can go about it. I have pictures of all the damages and the water stains all over the unit.

Came in last minute to get some prices on spaces, Laura was very nice and helpful.

Looking for storage close to our home and finally about to nail down using this facility due to the great customer service experience with Basswood location storage rep Neci. Facility was very clean and Neci was very friendly and knowledgeable.

UPDATE: HUGE RATS, DO NOT USE!!! The storage facility is infested with huge rats that destroy your property. The management office is aware but failed to notify it's customers!! Their response: We're aware of the issue. Here are two packs of rat poison, put it in the corners of your unit and take this brochure for claim instructions. The biggest kicker, I had over $20k in property ruined and the insurance they require you to purchase only reimburses $150! And they require you to jump through hoops for that. Don't believe me, see attached. So, again I say, DO NOT USE!

I have had a storage unit here for over 12 years. Mostly when it was all storage. I noticed after public storage took over my bill went up a little. Oh well that's ok. Well that keeps happening. I'm paying over double what I would be paying if I signed up for the exact same unit today. I called to get some clarifications and was told basically the longer you have a unit the higher and higher your price will go. They "are not a long term storage solution" if I were to rent a new unit and leave my current I would get the new price. Ok. That's nice to know. Guess I'll be packing it up

The one I'm at doesn't have a manager more then half the time, so that means no office open. I drive in and drive out, been broken into. And just got a message yesterday starting July first, 5x10 is 109. Month. No thank you! I will put myself someplace else and never return . Getting to big for the britches public storage

I have had lots of problems with large overhead door. Been three weeks door won't open up past 3 feet. Cannot get my things out. Office closed no live person answers phone. I share this unit with another person. Unit 122. Still not repaired, totally unacceptable. Will not pay bill until I have access to my belongings. Your service sucks. I will be out front of your storage unit with a large sign with lots of unfavorable words on it in large letters. I will picket your lousy facility every day until you fix the door on unit122.

Robin is great; thanks for all of your help. Our only critique is that the lack of a way to secure items on the freight elevator resulted in some items being damaged. Some way to ripe down items is needed since people are not allowed on the elevator to ensure safe transit. Additionally there is no ramp to the elevator and there is a gap of several inches in height between the elevator and the floor, so items on dollies must be moved by hand onto the elevator before using it, making the dolly less useful overall.

The manager at this location is great! Excellent company with safe clean affordable units. Best in the area by far.
