Decent facility, not worried about our stuff getting stolen, but renters beware they will increase your rent every 3 or 4 months. We started out in March of 2023 with a climate controlled unit @ $290 a month by July it went to $406 a month and they wanted to raise it again in March of 2024, but the gal in front office was very helpful and got the rate froze for 4 more months, then it went to $495. So we had to move out of the unit as that is just a crazy rate for even climate controlled or not. Again decent place but we don't agree with the way they just bump up the rent.
Absolutely horrible! Staff lacks basic customer service quality, offering zero support, empathy or appreciation. I wasnt even allowed to charge phone to open the gate when it died the moment I opened the app. My wallet had been stolen leaving me with only a photo of it, on my phone and refused me access. She KNEW who I was, having had interaction with me - on property - earlier that day and the day prior.
And regardless, of alleged break-ins, acting suspicious of renters on property who aren't acting suspiciously, is ridiculous. That's why you have cameras. As a new renter, I exited the property late due to getting my belongings in the unit organized for easier access to certain items. The manager threatened to terminate my account because of this. She didn't care to know why or if it there was something I needed help with or any special assistance. And now, I'm denied access to the property due to an overdue balance of $0.00?!?! SERIOUSLY?! I am homeless and came to my locker to change out the clothes in my bags but now I can't.because there is absolutely no way to speak to anyone about the issue. NO ONE at corporate or the property. So I don't have what I need for the cold weather tonight. Site managers that care, know who their renters are and their situations - especially those they see every day.

They closed my account without any notice. Month is paid in full and from one day to the next I get to the gate and NO Access!! You have no idea of the disruption you caused me today.

I recently had fraud on my bank account and as everyone knows fixing it doesn’t happen over nite, I kept in contact with the property manager ( little did I know that didn’t help) but now have to pay between the late fees and this lien fee 2X’s the actual storage fee.. I called the highest up in customer service and they won’t remove not even $1.00 to help my situation. They would rather loose a customer then to remove a late fee, guess they hope to auction my stuff off to make more money but that won’t happen I’m paying it and moving my stuff out of there to a more customer oriented storage one that actually cares about the customer. THEY DONT!!!

Today I had the most excellent pleasure of Miss Laura assisting me with my storage needs. Her energy lit up the room from the moment I came inside and started off my amazing experience. I felt like she stepped right out of a tv commercial because of her excitement and knowledge of everything, she would have put Jake from State Farm to shame if there was a contest!! Her professionalism and demeanor made me feel very welcome and that I had found the place for all my storage needs. The tour of the facility was awesome, the prices were competitive, and the sizes of the units would fit my hoarding habits perfect! Once we got back to the office I couldn’t wait to purchase a unit because of this amazing woman! I felt like she was an ambassador of Public Storage and this girl needs a raise immediately! I am 100% going to recommend to all my friends and this location because of Laura. Hire more staff like her!!

So I've been with Public Storage for right at 1 year and 2 months as of May 1, 2024. I have 2 storage units. When I first started with Public Storage they were easy & convenient. I set up my account to have automatic withdraws when it's due to avoid being late and a show of good faith to show I'm a customer that will pay on time to avoid complications. To this day I have NEVER been late or charged a late fee. Right at my 6 month mark they raised my storage price on both units by roughly $60 for each unit. I went from paying $150 and $153 , now paying $210 & $213. At the time of the first increase, I called and spoke with a gentleman named Chris who told me he will escalate (through a computer system) to see what he can do and it got denied within minutes. Not sure what factors they look at, if any so I just went with it without pushback. In all honesty, I wasn't planning on having a storage that much longer anyways. Fast forward to today I received my 2nd notice (1 year later) that both units are going up once more by $50. Now Paying $251 & $254 (totaling $505 each month for storage) Again, I called and spoke with a Lady this time who does the same thing as Chris and again received denial within seconds while I was on the phone. I asked what factors are considered in these reviews & what my options are, in a nutshell, I would have to go online to locate another storage unit and move everything into another storage unit just for a cheaper price. What makes matters worse is they have plenty of other storage units that are the exact same or bigger and better for a cheaper price. Why not just charge me that same price and let me keep my unit so I don't have to go through the hassle of moving all of my belongings? I'm not in a position just keep increasing my payments more less go through the inconvenience of moving into another unit on the same row as my current units. How does that help the customer? If I have to move from 1 storage unit to another then I might as well go to another Storage company altogether if that's the case. You would think after just simply reviewing payment history and given no problems that they would at least consider those factors before raising cost especially if we're already doing business with you.. It seems as though we're being punished just for having a storage longer then we even anticipated. Now Public Storage has put me in a position to where I have no other choice but to move units and move out. My advise to anyone reading this is to find a different storage company. Public Storage DOES NOT care about Customers as long as they get paid. What I've learned from this experience is, if you stay with Public Storage, anywhere from 6 months to a year, prices are going to increase and either you pay for the price increase or find another storage unit for cheaper and keep moving units until you don't need storage anymore. Setting up automatic payments and having good payment history with Public Storage doesn't make any difference at all. Public Storage doesn't appreciate it's customer, all they care about is the Money late or not. My recommendation is to simply find another storage company. There are plenty of them around town.

The location in Watauga TX located at 5501 Watauga road is the WORST. I have been moved out over a month. Left my door wide open, removed the lock and cleaned it out. An employee was walking by and I asked him what I needed to do and he said "oh leave it open. We will find it and move you out." I had also called the month prior and let them know I was moving out and what I needed to do. He said the SAME THING. Now over a month later, I am still getting collection calls/texts/emails for my December rent. I MOVED OUT! I have tried calling the location, no one ever answers. I have left 5 messages and none have been returned. I called the corporate line and it just routes you to the location. Beyond horrible service. I do NOT recommend, at least not this location!!!
I was having an issue getting into my unit because I lost my keys and in a complete hurry to do so before Christmas. Everything has been going wrong, but thankfully this was such an easy process to deal with actually contacting them and Erin was an absolute pleasure to work with! Time efficient, polite, and sweet to my son as well! We will definitely keep storing here thank you!

They let our vehicle get broken into for a 2nd time and again did not call or message us. DO NOT STORE ANYTHING AT PUBLIC STORAGE
ERIN The property manager was very helpful and had helped multiple customers at the time of my check in and did so gracefully and has been a big help ever since. Glad to have landed at a good storage facility that I can feel comfortable at.
Public Storage has always been my go to. However the location did not have air conditioning. I felt bad for the Manager that was working, it felt just as hot inside as outside.
It was 101°
No-one should have to work in those conditions. I got sick from the time it for me to secure a unit.
Please get some air conditioning at that location.

Beware apparently if you're just late on a payment that will cut your lock off. I can't afford to be replacing locks I've paid once a month on disability. I hope they don't cut the lock off every month when I'm late every month.

When I rented the space, they told me that it was month to month. I told the lady that it was really hard for me to park my boat in the spot that they rented me. I asked her if there’s another space that I could use due to it being difficult to get in and out with my boat. on August 2, 2023 the new manager assisted me to get my boat out of the parking. Which she saw that it was extremely hard to get out of that parking. And that’s the reason why I moved my boat on August 2. However, they are trying to charge me the full months rent! I can understand if they Charged me an extra day. But not the full months rent! I was lied to. I would recommend that you FIND ANOTHER STORAGE COMPANY!!!
I forget her name but the lady at the one on Western center was freaking awesome she's so nice and helpful and funny and I really appreciate the experience
I did not appreciate being told that I had an appointment at 11:00 for the one on watauga road and the lady not show up not return my call so I had to go to the other one just to rent my storage unit and I did not appreciate that because that wasted my time my gas and my patience
Erin is professional, friendly and responsive. She was great about explaining all of the details, including the prorated second month with the special deal they online. I really appreciate the excellent service. Unit I rented was clean and easy to access. Excellent experience overall.

I stored a vehicle here, someone stole my tow hitch. Noticed I was in a spot with NO SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS! I left 2 voicemails, no one in the office every time I came by. 9 days later some lady calls me about my spot being empty... I moved out, I won't be back.
Was my brother's unit but the staff was friendly and there was a freight elevator and a cart to use
The online process was VERY SIMPLE and easy! When I got to the facility Mr Danny was very helpful, he was able to answer every question I had for him. He was very fun to interact with, which made me feel very comfortable! The location was 5501 Watauga. I’m not only thankful for the storage (literally at the last min!) but I know we’ll be completely comfortable knowing there are people like Danny there to assist us if we ever need.
This is the newest review by far. I have 2 units at Public Storage for over 12 years. Trust me, public storage is a much different company than the other. The improvements made were instant. Danny at the Watauga store is freaking awesome!
They have roomy units 10x15 feet. I would not give the effort to review if public storage was not so good. I am more than impressed. As all staff, Celeste at the north beach street is also highly recommended.

Don’t store your car in the outside parking it’s a ground zero for robberies and car thefts. My car was broken into and the cops told me there’s been 30+ reports in the last 5-6 months.
The employee was very professional and made sure you were comfortable while he had to wait on others

I have 8 units here. They constantly have issues that they cant fix without approval ( weeks with no working AC ). After complaining to the front desk they just give you the run arround.
No person or manager has yet to contact me. With 8 units you'd think they would be more helpful.
I just hope my units aren't the next to be broken into.

Quite a bit of crime in the area and your property will not be safe here. Had our new RV parked here and it was burglarized. Not much in the way of helping us out after the fact. Better have some good insurance.

Took my insurance adjustor to view my RV today and assess the damages. We casually checked out the rest of the vehicles under cover stored at this location and found many, many of them had been broken into or had cat converters sawed off, or work toolboxes pried open with crow bars. If you have a vehicle stored at this location I would go investigate

Great workout program, awful storage space.
Completely changed from a year ago. 24 hour access is no longer provided. Carts are only available during staffed hours, so if you dont want to take off work to move your stuff, then bring your own dolly because $150/month per unit isn't enough to replace one that got dented or stolen I guess.
Oh, and there isn't enough carts in the middle of the workday, either. So even if you take off work, have fun using the stairs instead of the broken elevator to haul whatever items you unfortunately decided to store here to the second story.
Bring water, stay hydrated, make sure your protein intake is high. Everything you'd usually need for the gym, you need here.
The location is in operable for general public most often the manager never returns calls
Automated service is good but too much of automation is bad for the people may be good for the management they are reducing their cost but causing unfathomable inconvenience to clients
We have 2 second floor units and the elevator has been broke for a week and can't get answers only excuses.
I called customer service to confirm we had vacated the unit. She wouldn't confirm and hung up on me, all this after a 20 minute hold. Simple question went unanswered.
