I've been in there about one year and they have raised the price two times, from just over $100 to almost $300. Secondly, they recently raised the A/C temperature to over 80 degrees. Needless to say, I'm now going to have to move all my stuff to a new place

There's never anyone in the lobby now, the door is always locked, but the associate has been told to always be out on the property. If you call and leave a message, you're lucky if you get a response before 24/36 hours later.🥴

The facility Manager, Latty, was simply an excellent customer service ally. She helped us out far more than was necessary, was very understanding and helpful during the entire process of moving out our belongings and I would highly recommend to anyone to reach out to her directly when looking for a Public Storage space in Winter Park. I give her a five-star rating and a 10 out of 10.

The management here is not the best. I had an urgent situation once where I needed to get in my unit before going out of town and the power was out for hours and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. It is very overpriced and not the most secure or clean. Extra Storage space is so much nicer and much cleaner/more secure.

Clean, well managed and a responsive management team. I had an issue with my bill and called Leddy at the Fairbanks office. She worked with her corp office and had the issue resoved within a couple hours and promptly called me back to let me know - I highly recommend.

I don't normally participate when it comes to google reviews but based off my experience this morning how could I not. Melissa made me feel right as home as if I was talking to my best friend! She helped me find a suitable size storage room and was very informed on everything about the company! If I could give 10 stars I would!

UPDATE 12/3/2019: I spoke with this location's manager (Melissa) this morning. I recounted my frustration with the rate increase and lack of notice. Sec. 2.2 of my Lease states rates may change with 30 days' notice, however no notice has been provided by mail or electronically as of 12/3. She maintains I was sent a letter on 11/27, though has no proof of delivery. I asked the same questions I did in-store yesterday. She clarified the internet price is a promotion, and that it's typical for Public Storage to raise rates every 6 months. Her only suggestions were that I transfer into another 10x10 unit for the same price that I'm currently paying (go ahead and read that again--move into an identical unit across the hall to keep my rate), or downsize to a smaller unit. We ended the conversation with her offering to monitor prices and if it drops below my current rate she'll call me. UPDATE 12/2/2019: I logged into my account to confirm automatic monthly payment was processed and noticed a different price on my payments screen for January 1. The price increased +21.6% from my current rate. Website lists the same unit (10 x 10) for less (-22.0% lower than my current rate, yes a >40% spread). I stopped by the office and was told "I don't set the prices." I politely asked questions to understand (such as asking whether all units had a rate increase, if there's a premium or increased demand for units my size, whether it's customary to see a rate hike after only a few months, and what my options are for moving out). The response was beyond lackluster. I was told (paraphrasing) to either have someone else get a unit at a promotional price in their name (which is not only unethical, but forbidden per the rental agreement, Sec. 3.5.1) or call the District Manager. UPDATE 11/26/2019: Between August and November 24, I have observed one or the other of the gates stuck open no fewer than 11 times. Each time I noted the date, time, and left a message. No response from Public Storage. On one occasion in September, I stopped by the office and was told "it's been broken." ORIGINAL REVIEW: I’m planning to revise this review periodically as I just moved in and started renting from this location. My experience with the current (August 2019) staff was very positive. I visited and they were upfront about all charges and availability (though I had to ask very clearly for a list of ALL charges). They were very accommodating and took their time to show me multiple units, and lived up to their word to hold the particular one I wanted. The actual contract process was typical for a rental agreement and took only about 10 minutes. The space itself seems generally very nice. I have a climate-controlled unit and while they said they keep it around 75-76, it was cool inside, but about 78-79 degrees on the second floor. Though a bit dimly lit, the lighting didn't raise any concerns about safety or being able to work. Evidently there has never been a vandalism, burglary, or pest issue at this location, though I suppose a single dead roach in the corridor should not be too alarming in Florida. There are trolleys/carts by the door for common use and the gate control system is nice. The building is a little tough to navigate at first, but once or twice through and you get the hang of it. The location is very convenient. My only complaint isn’t actually about the location as it is the other renters: when it gets busy, there are no carts, the elevators are slow, and parking is a nightmare. If you’re moving in with a truck, be sure to get here early in the morning (before 11 AM) to be able to back up to the door.

Great customer service

I've been trying to get the lights outside my unit replaced for 3 weeks. With no lights inside the unit, I cannot see inside any box without a flashlight. I was told by site personnel that the replacement lightbulbs are "on order". Then, the ballasts that power the lights were to blame and would be installed by electricians when they arrive. Today I will hope for the best but will prudently take my flashlight just in case. This location is fairly priced and the site staff are friendly and always try their best to help me. But poorly lit storage units are hazardous. So, a word to the wise, check out the unit thoroughly before you rent.

As a company, and personally, I have been using this particular location for years and have always had the very best experience.. Melissa, who is always there to help me if needed, is the best! I would recommend the Public Storage on Fairbanks. Customer service has always been welcoming and friendly. The staff was there to help and assist when I needed them. My Family has had a unit here for many years so it was an easy choice to select this location for my move as I know it is well managed and secure. The online check in was quick and easy and the day I came to get my unit it was clean and ready for use.

Sad that Glass knife stores food products there and leaves a sticky mess outside for others to track in.

Ebony is a delightful person and was very accommodating in trying to find me a storage unit that would work for my circumstances. I am still not sure what that means but I would say that Ebony was exceptional in her knowledge and people skills of achieving customer satisfaction, so I would say that she is definitely a keeper.

I used the PS national website to reserve a storage unit. I received a call from Melissa at the PS in Winter Park, FL facility within 30 seconds. Amazing. She made all of the check-in easy and pleasant. The facility itself is clean and well air conditioned. I have had good experiences there 2 years in a row. Well done, Melissa, and PS.

For starters the facility is great and all the storage units are kept at the perfect temperature to maintain anything you wish to hold. When I entered the facility I was greeted by a lady named Melissa. She filled me in with all the details and facts needed for me to start storing. Overall the experience was great and I will definitely comeback. My daughter came home from college, and we had a huge clutter of items. Public storage helped me out a ton, thanks!

Came in Monday looking for a one of your smaller units.Though unsuccessful due to there being none available in my desired size, I had a pleasant encounter with an employee there at the time. Viewing available units were a bit more humorous as we walked and made "light" jokes about her pregnancy wobble. The young lady sent me to another location where i was able to get a unit there thanks to her and public storage moving is easy.

A friend and I looked at several storage facilities this past weekend but we both were impressed with the manager of this facility and how clean and well run it is. Melissa, the manager, was also very helpful and informative during the check in process.

I have my storage at this location more than five years and this is the first time I have very bad service from mr. Tarik. I received the letter about the rate increase and ms melissa gave me his phone number to contact. He did not return my message (I left 5 messages ) and then I contacted customer service to complain about that matter. The next day he contacted me and recommended me to move out because nothing he can do about it. I feel so bad about his service.

I have visited this [closer] Public Storage location after moving from another public storage. The reason for the visit was to check on specific unit size availability and other related questions. I found that the attendant, Melissa, was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about her facility, as well as other locations - and went the extra mile to offer to hold a certain unit for me, until I knew more logistical detail regarding my personal situation. Overall rating is 4 stars, with the following breakdown,,, I give Melissa 5 stars, but the Public Storage company only 3 stars. Reason: I feel the rental rates are (at most locations) unreasonably high and do not agree with corporate mandating rate increases unexpectedly, even for long term loyal customers, is a bit unethical. I understand that it is month to month agreement, but some consideration should be offered to PS's loyal customer base, or at least offering longer notices of increases, like say maybe 3 - 6mos.

Excellent service and not the cheapest. You get what you pay for, which is- location, security and quality grounds.

Fun place

Have just been at Public Storage for a month. So far, it's been a good experience. The main reason I'm giving it Five Stars is because of Melissa. She's the main person there (works Tuesday through Saturday) and she is super. Not only is she efficient, but also she's very customer oriented. Yesterday, I accidentally left some precious items in the common area, and didn't realize that until I arrived home. Melissa noticed the items, picked them up, then stored them in her office area. This morning when I went by to retrieve the items, Melissa warmly greeted me and even brought the items out to my car. Seems like she always goes above and beyond. And this Public Storage facility is kept very clean (probably thanks for Melissa :)

This storage place has been always a nice place to do my storage at. The customer service is always nice here and they take the time to help u out when u need help. The only downside is the pricing was a little up there, but all and all I can say that having my stuff in storage here is really good.

Don't get burned! This place is a real rip off, their rates kept going up and up. Had to move out only four months into the contract.
