Lake Mary is a fairly small community, but it still has plenty of amenities to offer. There are two main parks within the suburb’s limits: 2nd & Crystal Park and Trailhead Park. At Trailhead Park, you can access the start of the Rineheart Trail, which is part of the Cross Seminole Trail System. It features trails for jogging, rollerblading, biking and walking, as well as a smoothie booth and a fitness course. At 2nd & Crystal Park, expansive green areas are dotted with picnic tables, large shade trees and a children’s playground.

The community also facilitates both youth and adult sports leagues, as well as a family martial arts program. A senior center offers a variety of classes, including fitness, crafts and bingo.

The American Automobile Association, or AAA, maintains its national office in Lake Mary, serving as one of the community's largest business employers.
