Yeah its just a storage facility where you just hold belongings that still doesn’t explain that whoever the property manager is, Malika, i think is sorta an issue i don’t know why they’re just paying this person thats the way part of this society is but you know what capitalism wise its a place of business and you can just take your money elsewhere🤷🏻‍♂️ she probably doesn’t want to do too much that’s nobody’s else’s problem but her friends and family not the job she could do without the customer service and not talk to anybody but she chooses to. So in my opinion its not the best place to just hold your stuff if you have to be subjected to that kind of behavior. she probably wasn’t doing anything okay, well- she has the perfect job, she acts like shes a mover without the moving and she can just stay in the office but i lived and learned so heres my advice: avoid this place. I find it strange this place only replies back to the 5-star reviews

Property Manager Milka is a smart, beautiful representative for public storage who helped me out a lot with basic information that was hard for me to get anywhere else. Showed great customer service and concern.

Good: Facility is fairly clean, climate controlled, offers free dolly use during business hours, and friendly customer service in-person. Bad (short version): Was charged for 1 1/2 months of storage time when I occupied the unit for 11 days. I'm still awaiting the full refund (part of the charges were removed). Employee understanding of company policy is inconsistent and becomes the customers' problem. I rented 2 units - one temporary, one ongoing (still have it). Wanted the temporary unit for only 2 weeks, was told by local employee #1 that I had to pay for a full month at a time with no prorate available. About 2 weeks later I'm charged automatically for another full month for the temporary unit after telling them my planned move-out date. I was also told by customer service employee #2 that I could have indeed rented for 2 weeks, but just needed to pay for 1 month upfront then receive a refund. The unit was vacated after only 11 days. The charge for the additional month or so was removed after a couple of customer service phone calls, but another 5 calls (1 with an hour wait time) and 2 in-person visits later, I'm still without the refund for the 17 extra days that I had to pay in advance for. Something so minor should not be this difficult to fix. Update: Its been over 2 months and I am still without the refund, over 10 calls later with no other way to contact the company.

Hi everyone, I went to this location with my grand-father on 6/21/2022 to get a storage unit. Sebestian helped us with our reservation. He was polite, professional and knowledgeable. We had a very good experience. The facility is also clean and easy to get in and out. I recommend this facility.

I dropped into Public Storage to buy a medium box just before closing time and I met Sebastian.After having such positive experience, I had to come write a review about the outstanding customer service this young man gave me today. I had a large heavy item that required a box Sebastian packed the box and taped it up for me and loaded this heavy item into my car after ensure it was completed taped secure because I was shipping it. I didn’t even have to ask for his assistance he offered to help with no hesitation. He was so friendly, kind and professional. I can’t say enough good things about Sebastian he went above and beyond to give a helpful hand to a stranger this young man should be recognized for his high level of customer service… if Sebastian is assisting you I can guarantee 100% you will get first class service.

Been a unit-holder for about a year I'm regularly in and out for one thing or another. The complex apparently recently changed hands. I went to pickup my Christmas decorations back in the middle of November and I noticed it was significantly colder inside the building than it was outside that day, so I stopped by the office on my way out to ask about it. I was informed that the "new manager has a policy to keep the thermostats at 50 degrees." I was surprised, as most folks, including myself, are paying for their units because of the 'climate controlled' benefit. I was abruptly informed that "actually your storage unit contracts do not specify any temperatures required". Touché. It doesn't. However, customers need to be informed when significant changes like this are made so that when they have incredibly high-value items like collectable guitars, that REQUIRE ACTUAL climate control, they are not destroyed by ignorance of management. I would never recommend Public Storage to anyone. I'd recommend a business that maintains a standard of temperatures for climate controlled units.

Secured a storage unit online and went in next day to verify everything was goo to go via my text confirmation. Lonnie greeted me with friendly confirmation and directed me to entrance. The property was neat, clean, and organized. Overall easy sign up, friendly, and convenient.

Great place, great service. This was my first day at public storage and thought I'd run there during lunch break to begin storing boxes. Lonnie gave me very quick and friendly service. I was able to get in and out within 10 minutes.

Everything was easy and fully accessible. It’s a bit tight in the lot so it’s best to go during non-peak hours, but overall clean and supplies are fully accessible. Customer Service Agent Lonnie was also very helpful and patient. I was very grateful for that because I was having a really off day lol. Thanks Lonnie!

This company has been fantastic. After my father passed I needed to store some items and this location was affordable, close and safe. The ease of automatic payments is convenient. The staff on my recent visit to get some things to take up to NY was extremely helpful. Lonnie and Sabastine were great. I got a friendly greeting from both of them. They answered my questions and offered me the use of a cart. Super customer service experience. I highly recommended this Public Storage business for your needs.

Great service! I bought a large TV box. The customer service person helped me get it into my car. It is located in a convenient location away from traffic. There are three parking spots in the front so if they are ever busy you might have to park on the street.

Public Storage is a rip off. How can they justify increasing the rent on your storage unit within 6 months during a pandemic? Called the local office to find out why the increase in such a short period of time. They were very dismissive and condescending. So I called the corporate office from the number I found in a google search. The number did not work. So I posted a Tweet and finally got someone I thought would help. That sorry Diedre asked to send issue through customer support. And she did absolutely nothing but stated its the going rate for the market in that area. Not playing those games, I moved out. Screw Public Storage. Never again!!!

I was at the facility at 700 Picket St on 9/28 or thereabouts to make a $50 help out payment for a friend that has a mental disorder. At the time I attempted to help her secure a better rate since it was apparent, she was paying twice the rate as others with the same unit. (I would later find out from an area manager that the store attendant could have processed a rate adjustment, but instead I was advised to ride out the end of the month, cancel the contract , and start a complete new one , requiring new admin fees and lock fees, and insurance. When the end of the month came, she was sick, and unable to make it, instead coming the next morning. They said no go you have to pay the inflated rate all over again. I instructed her to file a complaint as she had also been told of he rate adjustment option, and I think they were just pulling her chain and taking advantage of someone they felt didn’t know any better. But this is not the real reason for my complaint. Tonight, I found two additional unauthorized charges against my credit card. Nov 18 for 97.40 and Nov 19 for 142.00 . Tonight , 20 Nov I called customer service at apx 6:20 eastern and spoke to Denice. I was told there was nothing they could do. They don’t have the ability to research it, that my only option is to report it to my back. Well ive have credit cards stole before and I know for a fact the merchant has an obligation to research and resolve the situation. As for as I’m concerned its Public Storage engaged in illegal activity.

The entire process from reservation to move-in was an easy and pleasant experience thanks to the help of Sebastian and Antoyne. They confirmed my reservation multiple times before the date of check in, they answered all my questions, swiftly took me through the check in process and ensured I had everything I needed to have a successful move. It is an old facility, but I was most interested in security, ease of access, and decent climate control for which it has met my expectations so far. More than anything, it is the people you have behind the counter that set the bar, and I they definitely were good to me.

Wow, amazing service! I don't know what more to say. I have had my items stored here for 13 months. In the process of coming back from Afghanistan, I lost the key to my unit. I spoke with the manager in 4 different countries. She helped ensure my unit would be unlocked when I returned. She helped me with a locksmith and everything. I spoke with her in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Amsterdam, and US. It was such a stress reliever. Thanks!

Absolutely awful experience. The customer service is either non-existent or intentionally negligent in an effort to charge you with additional fees. Instead of fostering a long-term relationship with continued monthly revenue, they'd rather hit you with unnecessary fees and penalties, treat you poorly, not return phone calls, and get you to move out. Apparently that's a more profitable business model for them at this location/district.

THEY NEVER TRY TO WORK WITH YOU AND THE ONLY TIME THAT I SEEM TO GET A SOMEWHAT DESENT PERSON TO TALK TO, IT'S ONLY AT THE HEADQUARTERS AND THAT'S IF THEY DON'T PICKUP AND HANG UP ON YOU AFTER YOU'VE BEEN ON HOLD FOR 30 MINUTES. I HONESTLY HATE THIS PLACE WITH A PASSION. PUBLIC STORAGE SHOULD REALLY INVESTIGATE THE PEOPLE WORKING AT THIS LOCATION. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. IF I WAS NOT FOR ME NEEDING THE VERY VALUABLE THINGS IN MY UNIT THAT IS NON REPLACEABLE, I WOULD NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM. AND TRUST AND BELIEVE WHEN I DO MOVE MY STUFF OUT AND IF I NEED A STORAGE IN THE FUTURE, IT WILL NOT BE WITH PUBLIC STORAGE

Karen was very nice to me, I secured a storage space for three months with no hassle. She was out of the office unexpectedly when I arrived, but something unexpected happened and it was no big deal to me.

Great customer service by Jazsmin. She was thorough and Courteous; took time to answer my questions and address any concerns. The storage space itself was clean and adaquately spacious for my stuff. Overall, a really good first time experience.

The gentleman who assisted me was very helpful and patient. I couldn't make sense out of the sizes on paper. He walked me to one of each size and showed them to me, for me to figure out which size I needed. He explained everything and made it very easy to rent the unit and load my stuff into it. They provide courtesy dollies and have some moving supplies. Their prices were reasonable. He made a difficult time in my life for a short forced move, a little easier.

We’d never rented a storage unit before but we’ve had a great first experience. There’s plenty of space in the reasonably priced unit and lots of room to maneuver your car around the lot. Jackie was very helpful and answered any questions we had during the rental process.

The staff are wonderful and the units are clean. Lexie in particular is friendly, informative, and accommodating.

The whole rental process was clearly explained and laid out for me. Property looks clean, and the unit is just as described. Lexie helped me today, and she definitely helped me understand all the intricacies of the process!

First five months went fine, then they jacked up my rent 10%. When I vacated, they charged me for a full month two days AFTER I got a printed move-out receipt. If you must use them, play it safe and do NOT let them talk you into auto-pay on your credit card! PS: After they refused the refund, I asked if I could still use the unit this month, since the were charging me for it. They said no, they would rent it out because I had vacated it...so you can charge two clients for the same unit? Shame on you!

Love Public Storage, 8 years ago I rented a unit there and I am back renting again from them because my apartment got damaged by water. Shaquan was able to help me when I got a little frustrated with few things. Public storage remains my favorite. Thanks to Shaquan with his outstanding customer service.

I had a great experience at this location and I have been to many in my life time. I rented a 5 x 10 unit. Jazsmin had me in and out in no time at all. Other facilities I would rent a unit and had to fill out about 20 documents like I was going to buy a car. Jazsmin was a true professional. She asked some questions, did the paper work and showed me my unit. They give Pro Mos so you will definitely want to take advantage of that. I live in Alexandria and this is my go to Storage for life. Jazsmin was awesome!! I highly recommend!!

I came in today to look into a storage unit because I will be moving next month and have no idea about storage units. I definitely came to the right place. Amanda and Jarod were very respectable and were able to answer any and all questions. The were fully aware of what I needed by the items I told them and when I seen the unit you could tell they knew what they were doing!! Most definitely 10 stars!!!

This is an exceptional storage and Jazsmine, the property manager, does an outstanding job making sure all clients feel secured and comfortable with their decision for storage there. Kudos!

Our Firm needed needed to upgrade from a 10 x 15 to a larger 10 x 30 unit. Called and spoke with Jaz, who went over the procedure to switch units, etc. The entire process was very seamless. Arrived on site with movers to make the switch, I was in and out of the office within 15 minutes, paperwork completed, all previous account information moved to the new unit. Both Jaz and Bri are very professional and helpful. They both consummate professionals. Made my job so much easier. Our Firm will continue to utilize Public Storage for more years to come. Tierney and Smokie saved the day for me! I showed up saying that my wife and I lost our storage key. They offered to cut off the lock for free! All I had to do was buy a new lock from them, which was well worth it. I was really worried about having lost the key to our storage unit and Tierney and Smokie went above and beyond to help me out. Much appreciated!

My wife and I have never had a bad experience with this facility. The staff are helpful and polite. The storage buildings are always well maintained and clean. Highly recommend if you need somewhere to store that extra stuff you just don't have room for!

From the gate Miss Ashley and Tierney were outstanding in their service and attention to detail for what I described to them. We were in and out very quickly with all the info we needed, yet I didn't feel rushed. I appreciate how efficient she was and very kind at the same time. I had researched facilities in my area and was surprised that the most convenient facility to transit (right off Van Dorn st) was also the most competitive price wise. I reserved a space online, the website was very helpful to give options with space/price. Danielle called me immediately after I reserved online and wanted to make sure to schedule a time to meet the staff in person when i was ready to move in. It was great to see how on the ball everybody was, to make the move in process as quick and efficient as possible. When I arrived, the process to move in was incredibly simple and fast. Danielle made it extremely easy for me I walked away from the experience feeling very glad that my stuff was there. I would absolutely recommend Public Storage for anybody.

On July 9, 2015, my wife, and I visited your Public Storage facility on South Pickett Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22304, and was very impressed with the two employees you had assigned there, Shawna, and Danielle. We are in the process of moving, and was out looking for packaging material needed for really sensitive items; plates, glasses, cups, silver, and electronic equipment. When we left your facility, we had what we needed, and was quite convinced those two young ladies had met our every need. Thank you for the very good service we received in our time of need.

I have had a unit for over 6 months now and found Public Storage to be the best storage facility I've used to date. Shawnta, the front office person, couldn't be more helpful and pleasant if she tried. She is quick, efficient and always ready to provide customer service. I wold recommend using this storage facility on Pickett St.

We needed a short term storage space to assist us in staging our home for sale. We simply stopped in and Emily walked us through the process. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. We have yet to use said storage space (we just got it this morning), but I am confident it will be great.

Could not be easier to rent a unit from this Public Storage. This was my first experience and Emily and Smokey made it a piece of cake. They are super friendly and even when faced with a computer system problem, got me in and out of my transaction quickly.

If you need help, I hope Mimi is not working. When she ‘helped’ me, she was rude and condescending. I have a hard time believing she’s ever worked in customer service. While assisting me, I heard her speak to more than one customer inappropriately. This is not someone I would want to be around personally, due to actions, word choice and tone, let alone someone you should have to deal with in a professional environment. Even worse, when I found others have had problems with her and try to avoid her. This is not someone you want at the forefront of your business.

I showed up on Saturday at 4:55, as the office was closing, and not only was I not turned away, Emily and team worked with me to get everything setup quickly. I was able to rent a storage unit, which after emptying the contents of my attic in to my daughters room was a desperate need, and setup autopay for the unit. Emily, the property manager, was kind and explained everything in detail as we completed the agreements, and walked me to my unit. Thank you Emily, and if you need a storage option in Alexandria, the Public Storage on Picket is a great option.
