Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 770 Nesconset Hwy, Nesconset, NY

I highly recommend you do NOT use Public Storage. Prices are high, fees are higher. They do not tell you up front that if you move in the 4th and move out the 1st they are still charging you a full months rent for that 1 day. The office was empty and no one answered 3 out of 4 days I was there (I understand I mean they have 1 guy working there but that doesn't help when the manager hangs up on you and closes your account when you tell him you aren't willing to pay an extra full months rent when you moved out within 2 months. There are better options out there. Stay away

John at public storage on southern blvd in Nesconset is so great. He made the whole process of opening a storage unit easy and quick, talked to me about what I may or may not need and just was overall a friendly and caring guy. Definitely a pleasure to work with him !

I have had a unit here for almost 2 years and about every few months they raise the price 50-80$ with a months notice. i have the smallest unit and they want over 200$ for that now. everytime i try to call to speak to someone i either get the run around or i can’t get in touch with anyone. if i were to cancel my unit and get a new one it would be $99 it’s absolutely insane that they can CONTINUOUSLY raise these prices like this. They know that most people aren’t going to say anything because clearly we have the unit for a reason and taking everything out would be such a hassle

The space is clean and well maintained. Anthony was very attentive and helped me pick a great unit! Update: Just rented a second unit from Anthony. Perpetually good service. Go rent here!

Summary: Temperature control is a joke. Bad customer service. No one ever picks up the phone. Only one trolly ever available and it doesn't work well. Prices go way up fast. Good reviews are fake. I picked this storage in spite of it being kind of pricey because they had the size storage I needed with temperature control, but temperature control has never worked in the year I've been there. The heat has never been on the second floor when I've been there. My unit is on the second floor and there is a discernible difference in temperature btw the two floors (temp control seems to work on first floor) and not a difference just because it's on a higher floor, a difference because the heat is not on. I've had to keep my glover and jacket on and seen my breath in the winter. I feel like I've paid a premium the whole time I've been there without getting the benefit. If I had electronics in there, they would've been ruined. There often is no one in the office. They tell you that's fine because there's another Public Storage right next door that can help you, which has access to the same building, but when I've been in the other office they tell I'm not in the system, so they weren't any help one time I needed help with access. No one has EVER picked up the phone when I've called. There only seems to be one flat bed trolly available on site, which pulls to the right and is hard to maneuver. Last time I was there one of the elevators didn't work, so I had to walk across the building and back to get to my unit. This is all very frustrating especially since they are by no means cheap. You would think when they charge $200+ for a 10x10 they could provide customer service and a trolly! Which brings me to mention, *PRICES WILL GO UP SIGNIFICANTLY WHILE YOU ARE IN THERE*. I have been there a little over a year. When I moved in I paid $186 for about two months. It then went up to $217. Just went up to $253. This feels very underhanded. These are significant price increases that are happening quite frequently. They do it because you're kinda stuck there. Moving everything out is a pain and they know it, so they just keep raising the prices. If you notice most of the five star reviews are very brief, were written at similar time period, and mention the name Anthony. Tell-tell signs that people were paid or asked to write these. They're clearly fake.

I had no problems with staff. Anthony is excellent. The price increases were just too much.

you pay 60% more for climate control and they shut it off in summer , don't put your electronics in here like I did, many problems now

Good luck loading things to your 2nd floor unit up the EMERGENCY STAIRCASE that DOESNT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE. Cost increase 25% after 6 months. The staff all seem lovely and this doesn't reflect on them. Only the business operation. Don't rent from here.

Went to help my in-laws. The carts are locked up. The office to get the key is never open. When my husband went to the office to pick up the key after waiting for the office worker to return, she was very rude. Very unprofessional. I have been a PS renter for many years and I am very satisfied with this facility. I would like to commend the manager Anthony for his exemplary customer service! He was checking out a vacated unit across from the hall from mine and knew that I was looking for a another upstairs unit to move into. This was to facilitate going through everything I had in storage, with the least amount of transporting and aggravation. It has worked out perfectly-without a far “commute” to the new unit! I want to thank Anthony for his assistance in processing the paperwork expeditiously, as I had an anniversary party to attend that day. Thanks again to Anthony for looking out for this customer.

I rented a unit at this public storage just a few days ago and the manager Anthony made the process very smooth and efficient. He was very professional and answered all my questions, and on the day of the reservation I was in and out within about 15 minutes. There was no physical paperwork when I got there, everything is done digitally using an iPad they have on site. He showed me to my unit and showed me how to open/lock it and also how to get into the facility using my personal gate code. The next couple days I came back to move stuff and he was available to provide the moving dolly.

My storage unit developed a leak and while I experienced no loss or damage, I wanted to relocate my possessions into a different unit. The property manager, Anthony, took care of everything quickly and efficiently and in a half hour I was moving my possessions into a new unit. Today I went to Public Storage on Nesconset Hwy, and the woman who works there as the Property Manger (Jizelle) is absolutely FANTASTIC! She helped me with setting up my online account, and figured out why I couldn’t do it myself quickly and efficiently. I didn’t feel any frustration or anger coming from her what so ever, it was refreshing to have someone help without feeling that they were obligated to do so. If anyone needs to rent, I HIGHLY recommend this location. You will get the help and information you deserve with no issues.

Do not use this storage unit. Everyone is very unprofessional and when i was reading the reviews it sounds like they have a new staff and the property manager is terrible, the district manager is even worse. Customer service is not their strong suit. I only spoke to one nice girl and she help me get the numbers. I called multiple times before my date to move out of storage to ask if it can be extended to Saturday morning. No one called me back, and when i finally got in contact with the district manager he basically said that’s not his problem. They are now trying to charge me with a late fee and for the rest of the month when i only need to remove 3 bins but cannot cause they won’t allow me to access my unit unless i pay. I printed out my call records and will be calling corporate.

ONE STAR IS BEING GENEROUS!!!!!!!!' I'm not one to bash a company but by the way I was treated I have to make sure everyone is aware of their horrible customer service representative. I stopped by a few days to write down some information about pricing. Carissa who I expected to be very nice according to other Google reviews I have read, was nowhere near as nice as google reviews portrayed her. I walked in the office and waited for a few minutes as she was outside taking a personal call. When l she came in, her phone rang and she walked right back outside and didn't even acknowledge me. I decided to leave after a few minutes because I was too busy to wait for her to end her phone call. If she would have been able to reach out and tell me she can't help me at the moment I would understand and stop by another day. But to stand there and not even say a word to me as I was walking in is pathetic. Now U-Haul down the road on the other hand had multiple people in the office and I was helped immediately. Maybe public storage should take a tip or two from them.

I rented a 10x25 storage unit today and so far the experience and service was very good. Jessica helped me through the process by showing me the storage unit, answering all my questions and providing additional information. Will also helped ensure everything was covered. The storage unit looks clean and has good access. The price was reasonable and the 1st month was only $1.

I have no issues at all with my things being in danger of any theft. I love the location. Very easy to get to. I've been with this site for about 3 years now and it is great! The staff is wonderful! Sometimes I forget to pay my bill exactly when its due and someone always calls me BEFORE it goes delinquent and reminds me my payment is due. They keep in touch with any info i need and are always very helpful when I stop by.

I just recently needed to make a move across country for college. I went over to Public Storage in Nesconset with my dad to figure out the easiest way to travel with an abundance of moving supplies. The manager on duty, Will, assisted us immensely. What once was a situation of stress and worry, became easily solved due to the facilities large inventory, and variety in box sizing. The staff was easily able to figure out the easiest way to travel without high expenditures in cost or mobility issues. I did not need any storage at the time, but in the future if the occasion arises, I will definitely be going back there.

Recently moved out of my storage place here but I want to mention that if ever I need to rent again, ill definitely choose here first. From the establishment being as clean as it is to wonderful staff, I wouldnt choose anyplace else. I rented the unit online and today when I went to the Public storage in Nesconset, NY they were very helpful.Will was knowledge in all fascists of his business. I would highly recommend using the Public Storage to anyone.

Coming to Public Storage was a great experience here in Nesconset. The employee Crystal was very kind and helpful in helping choose the right supplies for my move. She was very polite and knew exactly what I needed.She offered me a spot there but I did not need a space at this time but in future reference I would definetly go back there.

I was in the area helping a friend of mine move and we neded some boxes to finish packing up. I went to the storage facility and the manager there was extremly helpful. Will was able to provide me with all the things that I neeeded and even gave me some advice on how we should pack up the fragile stuff. I would definately recommend this facility to anyone that is looking for storage. Will was also was very informative on what they had available in terms of storage rooms if we needed any. Very positive visit.
