Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 4560 Central Avenue NE, Hilltop, MN

Well I've been paying 57 for my storage and someone has been going through from the top I tried to tell them but it's not changed so now what? Plus most times I go even in the day hours doors are locked noone there ..why? My price went from 20 something to 57 dollars and why it's the smallest unit you have dang .,.

The lady behind the counter is extremely rude my friend won a storage locker through storagetreasures and I was authorized to pick it up. So I drove an hour to get to the public storage and the lady refused to let me into the locker until the moving truck arrives in the morning. Per the rules of storagetreasures auction site I have 48 hours to clean out this Locker. Nowhere does it say that it has to be in one go. I have been doing this for five and a half years and this is the first time I've ever been treated so rudely by somebody who works in customer service if you don't like your job and get a different one. But this is how I make a living. Unbelievable!! Storagetreasures has even tried to call her now five times and she does not pick up the phone and she is at her desk. Wonderful customer service skills

Went to facility when I reserved unit online..to make sure I did it properly and did not owe anything on 3/29 for a 3/30 move in. I was told NO I asked to see the unit to make sure it was big enough visually. I was told I can show you a video. So customer service sucks...they call them selves giving first month for $1 but then they charge you for a lock they add a process fee and mandate insurance where is the discount if after all charges you still paying prettyuch the same price...they charge a process fee but don't do the job to show you how to use the facility...so why charge? Never again will use a public storage company a

Karla what is extremely helpful answered all my questions job well done!!! ****EDIT***** Firstly, I was begged to leave a positive review, I remember thinking it was a little odd, because I barely even knew about the company, but the initial consultation was songs and praise about the company. This review isn't necessarily the fault of the employees here, but my rates CONSTANTLY increase SIGNIFIGANTLY. Doing some research, it seems as though, this is the business model, get people in, then raise the rates. I can see a smaller *cost of living* increase, but going into about my second year, the rates have nearly doubled. When I was initially looking for storage solutions, this place couldn't stop talking about how reasonable they were, I am sure they knew that would come to an end. I will be moving to a different business all together, never do business with them again, and let anyone looking, about my experience.

I use this facility to house my inventory for my business so I’m here multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times a day. It’s always clean and the staff is great, especially Karla who is always extremely helpful & friendly. My only issue with this company is the constant price change without warning. My rate increased $52 without notice. I wish there was a long term option with a locked in rate.

Been renting a storage from them close to a yr now rent goes up every 6 months which they don't tell you before hand. Went in unit Saturday found a mouse in there. All I have in there is extra storing bins so it didn't come from my belongings. Attendant did clean it up quick though. Wish it was 24hrs but the security is top notch

Hello, I would like to share a good experience that I had today renting a storage in the Hilltop area. The person who assisted me named Karla was very kind and patient in giving me all the necessary information. I really liked her attention because she speaks Spanish, which we were able to understand us very well thank you.

What brought me to Public Storage in Hilltop, MN was a bit of a precarious situation and from day one, whenever I’ve needed something the property manager, Karla, has been there for me with the upmost in professionalism and absolute kindness. She has always got right back to me promptly answering every question I’ve had, even the stupid ones. Not to mention, the attention to detail she has provided is impressive, always going above and beyond for her customers. And, the cherry on the top is that I know some of the assistance she has provided is not in her job description. Her customer service skills are simply beyond excellent. Karla is a magnificent ambassador for the Public Storage company. Thank you again, Karla! p.s. Karla deserves a hefty raise!

Karla is the most pleasant property I’ve met with Public Storage. The facilities are wonderful. The convenience of the touchless entry is fabulous. You can be sure that your things are secure as they review their security footage if there is ever an issue. If it wasn’t for the increase in our rent and the distance from our home, we would have stayed.

My husband passed in November 2021. I gave them all the paperwork they requested and still in January they have not taken their lock off of my unit so I can get into my belongings. Everything paid. Now stand and wait and they tell now more forms need to be filled out. I have bad knees and they don’t have chairs.

I have been renting here for a while. The building is clean and pleasant. My items are kept safe and dry in their climate controlled building. Karla the manager is very professional and always greets me with a smile.

We needed a secure, clean place to store our stuff for a couple of months between houses. Karla was amazing and made our whole process so smooth. Getting into our unit was seamless and efficient, and it was exactly what we were hoping for. Now that we've finished renting, ending our contract was a breeze.

I am writing this review today to honor the incredible amount of respect, care, and diligence Jenny gave to me while I was on-site near closing time. My storage keys were stolen weeks ago and have just now gotten around to changing my lock. I explained to her my situation and shared a few personal details and although I could have to wait up to 10 days to get this fixed, Jenny took it upon herself to email her boss letting her know my situation and being an advocate for me. I appreciate your willingness and understanding of my situation. You are great !!

I found the storage unit because it is near where I needed to access for work. It is incredibly clean, very well-maintained, and everyone that has helped me has been wonderful! Karla has helped me change units numerous times as I have needed to get bigger storage space. And she has been so helpful and friendly! The manager Mike has been amazing when I have talked to him and always has followed up on questions. Very affordable also!

I wanted to take the time to write about one of the best customer service experiences that literally does not exist anymore that manager Karla gave me today. She was so professional and went out of her way to spend an extreme incredible amount of time with me. Karla made sure I had seen everything I needed and had every question answered with my storage needs having to change multiple times and then possibly for my lifetime... and then to top it off she was SO patient with me taking notes the entire time on my iPhone. Karla and the Public Storage in Hilltop needs to be recognized for this type of customer service that just doesn’t exist where a business or employee takes 1-1/2 hours with a person.

We had a great experience with Karla. She is so knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help with choosing the right storage unit on a last minute call. All our questions were answered respectfully with all details as first time users of a storage facility. Very clean and convenient.

Not a current customer but I did come up to the facility to try to become a new customer....The front door was locked and I waited for 15 minutes and nobody answered the door, there was no sign to say the employee stepped away......I then started speaking with a current customer who informed me that he has waited over an hour for them to come to the office and sometimes the employees sit in the office watching the cameras but do not answer the door, which has also been a re-occurring situation for him. He also stated that when the elevator broke down he had to take the stairs and they refused to do anything to accommodate his inconvenience, amongst a couple other negative things...... Not a good look to gain new customers....

Letha was the nice friendly lady that helped me today. I needed to down size my unit and letha was super kind and the process was super fast and easy I loved it! She is the bomb.com! It's super clean as well thats a plus. Not a fan of the scary movie dark hallways that turn on as your walking, they even click when they turn on & it's so quiet in there. That's just me I still HIGHLY recommend this location, safe, secure & has a really cool app to open up the gate and doors so no need to memorize the codes . 👍 Thank you!

Nice storage facility. Efficient optional drive through system. Secure with passcodes. Easy in and out with properly sized carts and hallways. Everything in working order. Staff keeps it very clean. Karla at the Hilltop, MN location is my fave caretaker who is always courteous, friendly, and helpful with both myself and my staff in our encounters with her. Recommend.

I do not like this place I would choose a different storage they are only open until 9:00 the people there are not that friendly. I also have a service dog that is my service dog for seizures and every time I go there they tell me my dog is not allowed to come inside the building to go to my storage with me I have paperwork and my dog also has a license and with her picture on it and they still tell me every time and do not and tell me I have to leave the building. I have been checking into it I think that it is illegal for them to harass me like that if I have the paperwork. Plus why are you harassing me she is a good dog very friendly and does not even bark. I just find them very rude and in my opinion don't waste your time pick a different storage.

This place has so many hidden rules and state they are open from 6am to 9pm so one would think that if so then why would they limit you how long your in the building i came to finding my storageand the heart break of moving out of my house of 51 yrs andexspected a smooth time to find that one 5×10 wasnt big enough so had to get another so i spent like all of 6 hours moving stuff from one to another an all done within the parameter of bussiness hours no big deal right wrong now i go back next day code no longer works and says see manager after doing so i was informed that i can go in but need an employee escourt me in and then wait from me with alotment of 20 min per day and my first storage must be cleaned put by end of month impossible i have at least 5 hours in putting things in that makes it impossible to get my stuff all out so long story short this is a place that will take you stuff they have no compassion for the people going through tough times msking it even harder

Be careful with this place, they will raise your rent without notice. The manager stated that “they don’t decide the rent and it’s their headquarters decision and they normally raise rent after every 6 months”.

Incredibly clean storage facility with awesome employees! Alex and Lashona helped my boyfriend and I with renting a unit to store some boxes in. They asked us questions to make sure we had the right size unit for us and they were both extremely thorough in explaining how everything works, by the end of it we didn’t have a single question that hadn’t already been answered. I was late leaving the facility a few times after running inventory and sorting my online sale items. They put me on restricted access to my belongings. I get 10 minutes a day while supervised with MY own property... Can you imagine what it's like to need to ask someone to have access to your own stuff so they can hover over you and tell you times up. I don't remember seeing that in the contract

I had trouble with the lock so I asked if they could lock it until I got there. They said yes. I continue to get messsges to contact you and when I am able to speak with someone I repeat the situation Yet the calls keep coming. They keep saying it’s urgent. I have been continuing to tell them I will come in ASAP I am moving July 1rst. It has been hard to make it there. Next Wednesday I will get everything. I am all paid up to date so there should be no problem

#Karla helped me with my storage unit rental. She is thee most kind, caring, outgoing sales service rep i have come across living in northeast mpls. She has a highly professional aura and knows what she is doing and makes sure you understand everything before sending you off alone....in those creepy scary movie halls.... but it was much satisfying and reassuring altogether. Also, her detail ettiquette was so informative and promising, she needs to be in a more appropriate wage level because she exceeds far beyond a sales rep/cashier. Give this young lady a raise! Or recognition on her job performance overall. This is how a customer service rep should be in FOH/Guest Service positions so take notes! Thanks again, Karla! 😉

I arrived and at first the person I dealt seemed a little bothered. Not sure if it was me but I just let it slide. Then the atmosphere changed as if she found a $20 bill!!!! We recently rented a storage space at the Hilltop/Columbia Heights location. I am extremely impressed with the building, brand new, very clean, secure, convenient. I am also very happy with the excellent customer service I have received by Karla, La Shonna and Alex, they were all very knowledgeable, friendly and I would highly recommend renting a storage space there.

Property manager was super rude and unwilling to compromise! There was an incident where my movers allegedly broke the rules which restricted my access to only during business hours. Alleged violation 1: trash being left on property Alleged violation 2: accessing storage after hours. I asked my movers about this because of course after hearing this I was upset with the movers. The same story from each movers, "we took the food out of the deep freezer and set it on the curb before moving it into the storage because we didn't want it to rot. However we did in fact throw the trash away". 2nd: the access code was used at 9:14pm upon EXITING. Which is very nit picking. I could see if it was used to ENTER at that time but to exit. Is there no grace period? Like seriously. We all know how it is moving. So I took full responsibility and apologized for the alleged incident and asked for a reconsideration, considering that I was not there and with that being stated I offered to be there each and every time to ensure that nothing like this occurs. There was a strict NO! I'm like well whatever happened to at least giving a person a warning or something b4 just going straight in for the termination. I was willing to make amends but the property manager for some reason seemed to have an personal agenda. Which from the very 1st day her attitude was on the aggressive side however, I over looked it because normally it's an underlying internal personal issue and I do not get wrapped in taking people's bad attitudes personal. I would certainly say stay away if you don't want issue with being able to have access to ur belongings. As now my things are now being held hostages because Iam a nurse and work during those hours and the property manager would not allow for negotiation. Just another person over using and abusing their authority to make the next person life difficult because of unaddressed personal issues.

After requesting a week to sort out my finances during a PANDEMIC they made my passcode invalid as a result, I cannot get to my storage unit on an evening when I needed access. Unethical. They also charged me a $20 fee and refused to waive it in a time period where people need grace.

Fantastic facility! I arrived in the middle of a frigid snowstorm and was relieved to be able to unload my UHaul and move into my storage space in the comfort of their climate-controlled loading bay. The space itself was clean, heated and well-lit. The entire move-in process was quick and easy, and Lashona and Karla were fantastic. Highly recommended!!
