Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 2430 Highway 287 N, Mansfield, TX

DON'T RENT HERE, YOUR STUFF WILL BE RUINED. I just cleaned out my unit. I've had my unit since 2018, but since 2020, this location has been going downhill. At first, I really just noticed that the way this location/the company was being run was getting worse. Slowly more strict and stingy on things like bathrooms, trashcans, accessibility, etc. I've struggled to get a hold of someone actually working at this location many times. I'm not sure if that's an owner issue or a company issue, but either way, I didn't like it. Yesterday, as we cleaned out our unit, we discovered that rodents had completely destroyed most of the stuff. At least a dozen rodent corpses in the unit and everything was covered in dropping and my unit reaked. The entire place is developing a smell. Talked with another tenant, and they said they noticed the smell and rodents. Their unit was on the other side of that floor. I'm pretty sure the entire place is infested.

DO NOT! I mean do not rent at this location. My mother rented a unit online and when I went to help her move I was greeted with an infestation of rats just walking in the lobby doors you can literally smell the rat the rat feces, this is insane for a nice location I called customer service and was no help. I will be calling OSAH this morning because it’s ridiculous I need my mothers money back NOW.

I’ve been loyal to Public Storage for years for my business when I first started I was paying 56 a month for a 5x5, I upgraded to a 10x10 soon after that and I believe the starting rate was $86 and now I’m paying $187 for a 10x10 ???? Yeah… BYE! I have seen sooooo many roaches in this place and when I need to use the restroom why can’t I? They have locked the restrooms FOR YEARS! When I went to the office the lady told me they can’t afford toilet paper or soap that’s why they can’t unlock the restrooms! I’m disgusted at this point and been disgusted. I’m moving out this week and I thank god I found some where WAY cheaper, y’all should be ASHAMED! I’m paying less for a 10x20 somewhere else now than the 10x10 at public storage. Good bye to yalls roach infestation

I am appalled at the employees and how this facility treats it’s customers. I have been there all week in a desperate attempt to get my GF’s things out of her unit. I am a disabled vet with multiple medical issues including IBS. Under Ally’s Law, which the State of Texas had adopted they REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO BATHROOMS for people like me. I asked for it to be unlocked and this is how I found it. No soap, no toilet paper, and dirty underwear and trash all over the floor. They can use the excuse it was locked, but the trash on the water fountain has been there for at least 3 days. I urge management to check the Cameras to verify. Only today did I see a employee clean up with a cart. Which was after I called Corporate Customer Service to complain. They assured me they would be contacting the district manager to make them aware of the situation. Not surprised there are roaches and rodents when the facility is unsanitary. If OSHA or the Health Department was to inspect it would probably be shut down. I waited for an employee to show up and he unlocked the bathroom and gave toilet paper. However, there was no soap and clearly the facility has supplies as he pulled it out of the janitor closet. It is a clear case of lazy employees and lack of managers performing their job. I would fire the manager and district manager because clearly they are not supervising their employees or the facility as our money is paying outrageous prices for. To my veteran friends 1000% go elsewhere.

You can never gain access to ur own unit if something is broke and no one is ever in the office and doesn’t return calls this is crazy!! Have been trying for weeks to get ahold of someone!!! Unacceptable

Since Google doesn't allow negative star reviews, I was forced to give this place 1 star. Let me tell you, that is far more than they deserve! We rented a unit for two years from Public Storage on 287 in Mansfield, TX. Upstairs 3rd floor, temperature controlled. Pricy, but worth it to protect our things. Or so we believed. We were wrong. I cannot even tell you how shocked and disappointed we were when we opened that door to find rat feces and chewed damages on our leather couch and antique furniture! Ugh! Yes, we carried their insurance all those months. Haha, what a joke! Read your policy carefully folks, you're only covered for "$250 - $100 deductable", so that's $150 no matter how much damage there is! I don't even know what to say. Our things are messed up and aren't going to be repaired or replaced. We in good faith entrusted our belongings to Public Storage, paying far more than we would have had to in a ground floor, regular unit much closer to home. I will never use or recommend Public Storage to anyone, they sure let us down, don't let this happen to you!

Yall I've had my storage unit for years. I visit it on a regular. This time I found mold there was mold all over everything. We had to throw away practically everything including brand new luggage sets. I have a camera set up in a different storage unit so please spray something on that way again. Also, its a climate controlled environment yall never going to use the Ac. ? You have it set at 90?! Then to find out you're going to just keep raising the rent. They say they have no control so thats no help. Also when comparing prices when is it much more expensive on android then an iphone?

They are always going up on their prices even if you are loyal customer. Every couple of months expect a rate increase and to have to move your things from storage to storage to get a decent rate. They take more pride in getting new customers than keeping the ones they have.

Customer for 2 years, and in that time the storage space price has been increased almost 100%. Ridiculous. Find somewhere else

Don't store here- take your stuff 10 min down the road to the 1743 Commerce location. You cannot guarantee there will be some in the office to assist you. If there is not someone, there is NO ONE to call to get help. You have a high chance of a door, elevator, or a sensor being broken. If you have a movers waiting on you, you are just s*@t out of luck. No one will return your call, or your online chat request for help. We found a dead rat as soon as we opened our door. Pro tip- if you absolutely need to store at this location, call the Commerce location (or stop by) to see if they can help you. (I gave management several weeks to reply to my requests for help before posting this- no one ever contacted me)

If I could give zero stars I would. The property manager here is a joke. I got a promotion and paid the fees and admin. They then tried to charge my card again on the first. I hadn’t even had the unit for 1/2a month. I went to the property various times and called/left messages with no response. When I went in the girl had zero customer service skills, was on a personal call and then started to talk over me. No one is EVER at this property and do not return calls.

I tried to reserve my unit online but they wanted to charge me all these extra fees so I scheduled an appointment to go to the location in person. On the day of my appointment, I was running late. So, I called them and told them what time I would actually be there and the representative said "ok." When I arrived on site, no one was there. I assumed they were on the property so I waited... For 40 MINUTES!! No one ever came back to the office. Several ppl also came and sat in the parking lot. Some needing to pay their rent, some new move ins... No one received the help they needed. I still don't have a storage unit.

Do not recommend. 💩company to rent storage units from.

Never got one month for free. Rate increase 30 percent after only 3 months. Beware !!!!

Who is in charge of the phones there, I have tried a number of times to call someone there during the week and weekends and all I get is a voice machine where I leave my name and phone number and i get calls with a number attached but no-one answers

The property manager and district manager won’t look at the cameras to see who was using a storage unit under my daughters name(Emalee)They continue to charge her even though she never used the unit.They allowed someone else to store their belongings there under my daughters name.We have asked several times for this to be resolved.And,yet still today they haven’t done anything except for lie,try to cover up their mistake.Those cameras are there for a reason.Use them to do the job there meant to do.Rather than do that it’s easier for them to use a 20 yr old,try to manipulate her into paying for a unit with items that aren’t hers! How can you run a business,not follow through with getting to the bottom of this issue?Then the property manager acts as if she has no clue as to why we’re upset🙄Well who wouldn’t be upset with having to pay someone else’s balance?Very upset with how this has been handled.Wish I could give 0 stars because that’s what this property deserves.

Public Storage Sinks. When I first Paid them and I had AUTO PAY.They over Charged My Card and would Not give my money back to the card instead they put the money on my rental. Now. I paid $55 on Oct 6 for my Storage and the App didn't work. So now they want me to pay $100. I have been calling this location for days and 6 or 7 times NO One Answers and IF I go up there There IS No One there. I have on the chat and they didn't help me.

Unit has been vacated since 9-25-2022 yet I’m still receiving a bill for my unit. Unit was empty and left open all locks were off and is in my possession yet I received a call someone not vacating the unit and probably somebody else has moved their stuff into the unit. Timely lock checks also left numerous voicemails about unit being empty with door left up no locks same day I vacated the unit called property manager to advise still received no call back from property manager confirming or denying unit was vacated. Location is going down the drain. DONT RENT HERE. Also reached out to DM Bertha and no response from her either as usual.

Robin did a great job helping me today she seen me struggling to get something out of my unit and came right over to help. Several cars passed me by without even asking if I needed help. Being an older lady you would think these men would of helped but no. Not one! But Robin sure did. If you want to rent a unit and want to have a great property manager for your location this is the place. I will be recommending all of my family and friends to this property.

Terrible experience ! Reserved a storage 3 weeks in advance, went to see the space it was fine. Was called 10 times to confirm everything yet I to my storage the day of to be told that there’s a sprinkler issue and that I can’t have it, instead I can either get a second floor unit or pay more for a different one. Absolutely dissatisfied and disappointed. No kind of customer service, and horrible communication. Unbelievable.

I have used Public Storage for most of the last 12 years and this has by far been my worst experience ever. The facility is clean, well lit and probably as nice a storage facility as you can get but there is some sort of issue with water/sprinkler system; if you are on the first floor your belongings will stink, not just smell but STINK. Again 12 years and not once have my belongings smelled. The main reason for this review is because it took about 6 phone calls, 3 in person visits and the comment “ he doesn’t want me to come up there” to even get one return phone call but they can call me PROMPTLY when I lost my debit card and forgot my autopay would be declined and the only take exact change. If you need a space, do not take first floor. I run a business, so I completely get they do too but when you pay $125+ dollars for precious items they could at least give you a return items and fix the issue or communicate a plan or simply that they don’t want to or won’t.

Indoor units are well maintained. Nice clean restrooms at each level.

This facility is very clean, and extremely accommodating to guest. Amanda was amazing! She was incredibly knowledgeable and provided options to find a solution to my needs. She even went above and beyond late on a Sunday and stayed extra to allow for us to rent the unit that we needed. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for incredible service for the storage needs.

BEWARE if this facility!! They have MOLD issues.. we had 3 units, all 3 units have MOLD on any wood surfaces/tables/chair legs and leather chairs, we had wood wine boxes that are now warped. It's obvious that their "temperature controlled" means nothing, certainly was not doing it's job. We What's more frustrating, is no one seems to be calling back and it seems this has been an on going issue. Honestly I would use another facility and be sure to ask the question about MOLD and facility responsibility if you getMOLD . UPDATE everything we unbix has MOLD on it, things in boxes have MOLD. Talk to from office n she claims she nee n not aware of any MILD issues. I in fact met another customer who said her unit had been flooded n you can see where water has ran down the wall. Bottomline , don't use this facility, they won't cover MOLD under ins cause it's a fungus🤦

MOLD ISSUE WITH NO NOTIFICATION Do not use this storage unit or the insurance company provided by them. Booking process was super easy and convenient online. However, it is impossible to talk to a person when calling the company. We stored the contents of our home here for only 3 months. We regularly checked on our storage unit. Upon moving out, we noticed very significant mold damage. Upon speaking to the front desk, they informed us that they knew they hold a mold problem going around their storage unit. Despite knowing it was an issue, they did not contact any of the customers to inform them of which. We lost a couch, recliner, refrigerator, and stand alone freezer. Public Storage does not care about their clients. The front desk solely informed us that we could file an insurance claim. There was only 1 insurance provided to us through Orange Door Insurance Company which upon booking, solely informed us that they would cover up to $5,000 in loss. Upon trying to file a claim, they told us only $250 would be covered d/t loss by fungus and that was only after a $100 deductible. I would like to know who can buy a new couch, recliner, and refrigerator for $150. Orange Door Insurance Company is a SCAM. We are now out about $5-6k to replace everything.

We rented a unit over a year ago. We came to get all of our stuff this morning and it’s covered in mold. We were never contacted or informed there was water issues and it’s very apparent by the amount of water down the walls of the storage that something happened. Ruined tons of new furniture. Not to mention all of our packed boxes are wet. Can’t wait to unpack and see what else has be ruined.

Don’t expect to have access to your belongings for the fully advertised hours. Apparently they close early. Went by before 9pm and everything was already shut down almost 10 minutes early. Disappointed.

I moved here from FL and needed a place to store my furniture until I got a place. I found Public Storage online was able to rent the unit of my choice without any problems. Now that I moved in, I stopped by the office to let them know I no longer needed the unit. Tony got me taken care of extremely quick and made the process nice and easy. I'm very impressed with the way this company does business. I could not have asked for anything more.

This is one of the greatest facility. They r helpful, considerate, patient, and mindful of the customers needs. Great service.

Great staff and security is almost over the top. It's very secure and clean. Have had a unit here for years. Only reason for 4 stars is that they keep raising the price. It's pushing me to look elsewhere.

The desk rep, Tony, was very helpful and polite. I was very pleased with the customer service here and it is half of what I was paying at cubesmart.

The price increased from $75 to $90 within 6 months and then up to $110 after 12 months. It's also REALLY out of the way. At those prices I recommend finding a place close to where you'll be.

Had a great move in. Chris and his new team member Chelsea were great at explaining and showing me how renting storage space there works and did it with a smile/humor. If I ever need storage in this area again, I'll be returning.

No problems with the facility, but the price has gone up twice this year. Definitely the most expensive place in town.

Deceptive business practices. I signed up online and was sent an email with “total move-in cost - $25.” I went to the store on move-in day and, after turning down all extras that were being offered, my move-in was $61. Should have walked away then, my fault. I went home, checked the email from the corporate and went back the next day to cancel. Was told that no refund was possible, even though nothing had been moved into the spot. And that the online agreement of $14/month did not include their $15/month insurance that I could not rent the space without, and could not return the $20 lock they make you buy, which only works in their units. The place was very well cared for, clean and the staff were pleasant. Just a terrible way to do business. I’ll do business elsewhere, just on principle.

I had a great experience at this location. I went in and Vicki helped get me set up in a 5x5 spot. She was friendly and informative. I had a couple of issues come up with what I needed for my job, and she and the manager Chris helped me through it with excellent customer service. I highly recommend this place. Ask for Vicki!!

This location made me love Public Storage again. It's very hard to find a good place that you can trust to keep your belongings safe but Chris and this location were amazing. The place was very clean and Chris was eager to answer all of my questions. LOVE IT!!

prices and size

Do not rent from this location and expect good customer service, at least not from Chris. He is exteremely rude, unprofessional and very condescending. Talks down to people as if they were beneath him. He treated me like if I was trash, has even gone as far as hanging up the phone on me when he realized he couldn't overtalk me because he knew I was right and even if I wasn't, the customer is always right, he rolled his eyes at me when I had to deal with him in person and spoke in a sarcastic tone every time I spoke to him whether it was on the phone or in person, he doesn't care for people at all, he should be more compassionate towards customers especially since the company states that they treat your stuff like it's their stuff. How is that possible if the people that rent units from there can't even get treated with kindness? Public Storage get it together because each and every time I hear that someone needs a storage space from you, I will definitely go outta my way to convince them otherwise! Stay away people, especially if ur not white because this guy is prejudice for sure!

It's cheaper for us to have this indoor storage than the outside storage we had that ruined all of our stuff because it wasn't properly sealed so a thousand crickets got in and died. Rented an indoor space here for about 4 months. Overall great experience. One thing I didn't like was you have to enter a 6 digit access code every single time you enter the main door. If you're moving and it takes 10-20 trips back and forth then you're going to have to be there to let the movers in; 10-20 times. I guess that's the price you pay for security but I wish there was a better way.

They didn't even have any larger size units to offer in place of my reservation. Will not be providing business to this or any other Public Storage location because of it. Wasted my time. Lets just say 😌 Everything that that could go wrong today with moving into my storage TRIED to go wrong but to no avail. I was quite pleased with the facilities. Clean, well kept and high tech. I was also pleased with the service I received. Stacie killed it with her great customer service. She was on her game. Knew the products and articulated the services and features eloquently. I am not a fan of storage units, but I needed one for an upcoming move. She made the task more pleasant.

Horrible customer service. Girl who works in office on Sundays is rude, lazy and I would not rent from her. She is def not someone I would rent from. Want give you a straight answer try to force you to make a decision in the moment and tells you if you leave she want honor any specials that are being offered.

Rented a unit here while waiting to move. Chris was wonderful and helped me out by providing the perfect size and location. He was awesome. I'll be back when I move again.

It was my 1st time ever storing my belongings in a storage facility. I was a bit skeptical at first, because I'd visited a few other facilities, before this one, and they weren't helpful at all; but after speaking with Chris I was at ease and knew this was the one. He was amazing! He was very knowledgeable, friendly and took his time explaining everything me. The prices were good and the process was simple. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a storage facility. A+ Customer Service!
