I needed a place to store mom's things after i moved them from New England to Delaware, and Frances at the Public Storage on Kirkwood Highway was very accomodating. The process of setting up the rental agreement did not take much time, and the monthly price on the small unit that i got was very affordable.

Mrs. Francis was exceptional with transfering me to a larger unit. She greets you with smile and beautiful personality.

This place will make you feel miserable, whit low value, trash, nobody for them. WHAT HAPPENED? I forget my phone in the badroom. When i try to came back for my phone the badroom was looked. I try to call to assisance an nobody reply me. To the speakers that are beside the electronic door and nothing. Sudently i see the black woman whit short hair who works there and i ask her that please open the door. She dident want. She blame me for to forget my phone there. WHAT? SHE WORK THERE, SHES SUPOSE TO SUPPORT THE CUSTOMERS BUT NOT. SHES JUST TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO CAME BACK TOMORROW UNTILL 9:30 AM . SHE HAVE THE KEYS IN HER POCKET OR WHATEVER BUT SHE DIDENT WANT TO MAKE THAT FAVOR. YOU WONT HAVE SUPPORT IN THIS PLACE WHEN YOU HAVE A TROUBLE. I KEEP TRYING TO CALL BY PHONE AND NOBODY ANSWER.

Am in between living situations in my post-graduating college-but before I start my big girl job, so had to put some of my things in storage for a bit. This place is clean, safe, well organized, well priced and easy to access. Frances, the woman who helped us, was absolutely the best. I don’t typically write reviews but she was so awesome and sweet I just had to. Totally recommend

Nice clean place, but my aunt had to move her things out asap.. she was only there 2 months and they without warning just decided to up her rent by $100.00 a month. She's elderly and could not afford that. So we had to drive from WV to get her things out of there for her. The lady at the office was really sweet though, not blaming her.. Very odd location for storage units though.

Everything is as it should be

I was looking to rent a storage unit. There were a few clauses I wasn’t quite sure of prior to completing my reservation so I didn’t complete it. Frances called me within 30 minutes to see if I had any questions or concerns. I went in afterwards and she helped me make sure the unit was the size I needed and answered all my questions. This was first time renting a storage unit and if front desk associate Francis wasn't there I wouldn't know what to do. She helped me out picking which storage would be best for my needs. She was kind, patient, super helpful. I came in about two weeks prior to my move looking trying to find a unit. She searched different areas for me that may have promotion deals. After comparing prices, I decided it would be best for me to keep my belongs at that location. She allowed me to see the storage units and help me through the process and made sure I understood how everything would work out. When I was ready to purchase my unit, the price had decreased and it was better the the couple of weeks before. It was a pleasure to work with her. Ever time I visit it is always clean and never crowded. If you go there as long as Ms. Francis is there know you will be well taken care of!

So I tried to cancel my unit on 7/29/21 and got no answer when I called. I tried on 7/30/21 and got voice-mail. I received a call on 8/1/21 from a woman saying that I need to call earlier or I had to pay for August, the storage unit was empty, she say she would handle it. All of sudden 2 weeks ago in September I started getting a call from a debt collector from public storage. I'll get screenshot of my calls prior to 8/1/21 and bring legal into it. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE

I had an awesome experience at this location the other week. Very professional and courteous. The staff members were very knowledgeable and had answers for all my questions, especially Bria. Out of all of the storages I visited, this I've was the cleanest. I will definitely be renting a unit soon.

I came in to buy merchandise and Emmy was awesome and was such a big help. She helped me figure out what merchandise I need and could use. This property is always really clean and the managers here are so nice and very helpful.

I had a problem making my payment on time, but considering my very long business relationship with this location, they waived my late fees as a courtesy to me. Very much appreciated and I commend the management for their willingness to work with me.

Great and friendly customer service from Frances. Set up and sign up was a breeze. Unit was clean and well lighted. Only downside was I couldn't sign up online because I was using my own insurance. Minor matter because Frances did a great job with sign up and questions. Still got the online rate too.

I was able to do everything on line to set up my climate control unit. I stopped in the office and met the office manager, who was very professional, helpful and kind. I was able to borrow a dolly from the office and started moving stuff in. The unit was clean, temperature was cool and I feel that my things are secure. Great experience.👍

Mrs. Francis was a great choice compared to the first location I reserved at in Wilmington. My husband and I was down sizing and I reserved at another Public Storage location. Shortly after reserving the manager from that location called me trying to bully me into coming in early due to some type of special. When I told him I wasn't ready and we still were not to move Into his location for another week. I canceled right away because he was very rude. I reserved at Mrs. Francis location right after cancelling. Mrs. Francis called to explain that the size of the storage I reserved was going fast. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! My experience has been horrible since the very beginning. First off, they are infested with RATS and ROACHES! They are crawling all around the facility!! Second, I was given incorrect/ misleading information on multiple occasions . Ive lost money due to their negligence! I’ve complained to management, and have gotten NO RESPONSE! And less then a month after doing a formal complaint, I receive notice that they are raising my storage rent! This company doesn’t care about their customers nor are they willing to make an effort to resolve problems they have created! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, find another company!

They charged my card with one full month extra for just 4 days of the last month. This happened even after they explicitely offered a prorated last month if we emailed them the termination date 1 month in advance, which we did. All of a sudden there is no prorrated last month. Occupy it 1 day and you'll be charged for the whole month. Do not fall for swindle offerings of prorrated last month. You've been warned!

I was very disappointed in the “customer service” or lack there of. I chose this storage company & location due to the excellent reviews. After going in person to rent a storage unit, I was not pleased at all. I was treated poorly by Frances, she rushed through everything, & when I asked her certain questions she was very snappy & not helpful. Frances acted as if she was in a rush & I was inconveniencing her. I was also charged an amount that was ridiculous & when I asked if any deals were going on Frances responded: “if we had any deals, don't you think I would have told you”. I walked out of her office feeling extremely disrespected. I would never recommend this location or her service to anyone.

Perfect size unit I needed, affordable monthly for the time I needed it. It was always quiet and secure, assured me that my things were in safe hands. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I came into this location on Saturday to purchase a few boxes. Stephanie went over the available specials with me. She then went over everything i would need for my move and gave me awesome packing ideas that i was not even thinking about! By the time i left the store, i had purchased 30 boxes and other packing supplies. Stephanie really went above and beyond with her customer service. She knew all the products she was selling me and knew what she was talking about , she answered so many of my questions. She was very dedicated in making me feel so much more comfortable and at ease with my stressful move. Stephanie was very helpful and polite. Renting my Unit this time around, she was training 2 new Team Members and they were excellent as well, and being under the tutelage of Frances, they are sure to be awesome as well. Frances, Amber and Takayla were very friendly and they showed me around to the Units I was considering in a very timely manner, especially since my nerves were rattled and frazzled during this move. This was my first time using a storage facility because I was always hesitant to leave any of my possessions under the watchful eye of someone else. But, I must say, this experience has been great from day one. The young woman who helped me, Frances, was fantastic. She put my fears at ease right away. She was open, honest, and quick about answering all of my questions directly. My initial plan was for 6 mos., which turned into almost 10 mos., primarily because I became so comfortable with the way everything was handled. I was not in a rush to bring this back. One example I can share is something as simple as the light bulb in my bin was out. I kept forgetting to let Frances know. She was remind me but I would say "next time." However, my niece also uses this location and one day when she was there Frances installed my light. I didn't know until I arrived several weeks later only to be told, "it was already taken care of Mrs. Ruffin." I recommend this location to everyone! Thanks again Public Storage and a special thank you to Frances!!!

I really did like these people, but our storage was somehow broken into, and expensive things were stolen from us. A couple months before this happened, we were in the office when what we think was a manager, talking to a customer, and she was very upset, and saying things were stolen from her storage, and he kept telling her there was no way anything could have been stolen from her storage. He asked her if anyone else had her keys, if she ever lost her keys, etc. I was weary then, but really didn't think much of it. Then in March of this year, our things went missing to. A manager didn't even bother to talk to us.They told us to make a police report, and they checked our storage unit, but found no signs of a break in. We even asked them if anybody could have been making extra keys, which was not something they wanted to hear. They gave us the insurance company's number, and were told to call them. We took the rest of our things, and moved out. When we contacted the insurance company they turned us down without investigating anything, because the lock didn't look broken into. I even sent them information about the conversation we heard in the office, and that our unit was hard to close, and the main handle was broken, but they never contacted us back. Sedgwick insurance just did absolutely nothing! We paid for 4,000 in insurance coverage for over a year, and we lost our things with no compensation when they went missing from our storage! Who would make a police report unless their things were really taken! I felt we were treated badly by public storage, because nobody in charge, a manager, or anybody else ever bothered to call and talk to us. They were great until our things went missing, and then we were just ignored by them. For all these reasons, I can't recommend keeping your things here.

I used this location to rent a 10x10 to hold unused furniture and supplies while we purchased and moved into a house. The original plan was a 6 month lease that turned into 8 months, but during that time there was only one slight rent increase, but it was still well below what the rent was without the special that was happening during my initial lease. I never had a problem accessing the unit. All of my valuables were clean, dry, and protected. Frances was always pleasant to deal with, as was the rest of the staff. It was easy to pay online, and when I vacated the property that was painless too. I will only use Public Storage for any future storage needs.

I take these reviews seriously so I'll give it to you in parts: On the initial phone call to the National Sales person in Arizona the help and service I received was fantastic. We had a truck of stuff arrive two days early and needed a place on a Sunday. The woman I spoke with found me several places, suggested move-in specials and made it simple. Follow-up: I received a phone cal from the local manager almost immediately to make sure everything was OK and to see when we would be there. Check-in process: The woman at Public Storage, Andrea, was very nice and professional explaining everything, being ready for us, prepared everything quickly. Plus she was just very nice in dealing with the public. Facility: The place is very well kept. Here are the only issues I had: 1. I think the cost is high compared to other places and even other Public Storage places in different locations. I do get that I have the option to not go there and they are almost at capacity so I must be the only one thinking this way. They do NOT offer a move in special at this facility because they have full capacity...good for them. 2. I did go with them because they were open on Sunday and could get me in on Sunday and I was desperate. 3. I don't like that we had to take insurance and it was never mentioned to me on the phone. 4. The unit is fine but it's not well-lit 5. They said there was hand carts to help move in but didn't know where they were, or they were being used by others. I looked through several other buildings and never found one so we had to carry everything ourselves back to our unit. Bring your own hand truck! Worth mentioning: 1. I asked if after a month if I wanted to move our stuff to another Public Storage unit that was out of the way but less expensive and offered a move-in special rate would I have to pay the set-up administrative fee of $22 again and they said I would. I don't think that's fair. 2. the other place has a First month for $1 move in special and they wouldn't let us use that if we just moved our stuff ... we'd have to keep it out for a week. I don't think that is fair either. There's my review...with some whining mixed in. Hope that helps.

After four years of renting, finally able to close out the unit. Always had a clean area, when light bulb would be out, office would replace it immediately, France made closing the account easy and quick. Would use this business again if the need ever arose.

We came to Public Storage searching for a climate controlled unit. We have dealt with other storage companies in the past and never thought twice about dealing with them but after our experience today, we will be using Public Storage for all our storage needs in the future. The property manager, Frances, was friendly, cheerful, and pleasant. She was knowledgeable, thorough and easy to work with. The grounds and units were clean, and the parking areas are wider than the places we have rented in the past. The grounds are continuously monitored, the office was organized, neat and clean as well. We feel at ease leaving our "stuff" there!
