About Grove City

Grove City is a vibrant bedroom community for Columbus, nestled in centrally-located Franklin County, Ohio. The History of Grove City

Pioneers established Grove City. William F. Breck, Grove City's founder, saw the potential for farming in the area, and he also envisioned a village with a church, a school, a blacksmith and shops. The town was officially laid out in 1852. By 1853, Grove City had an official name and 50 residents.

The city had several population booms, fueling its growth throughout the 20th century. Its most recent growth spurts occurred in the late 1990s and early 2000s, more than doubling the population between 1990 and 2015.

Grove City enjoys a relatively low unemployment rate, due in large part to its proximity to Columbus combined with a highly educated population that can compete for good jobs.
