I have been a customer of Public Storage for some time now, and I'm extremely disappointed with the recent experiences I've had. Over the past few months, the prices have been increasing out of control. What used to be around $150 per month has now escalated to $235, which is unacceptable.
On the evening of November 14, I was robbed. When I went to the office to discuss moving to a different space, another client came in complaining about a similar robbery at a different location. This indicates a pattern of theft across multiple sites.
Next, I spoke with Keyla, who treated me in a condescending manner. Despite explaining that I was asking questions because I'm not a professional in the storage business, she maintained a patronizing tone throughout the conversation. Eventually, another employee helped me and assigned me a 'new' space. However, I later realized that the safety of the newly assigned space wasn't any better than what I had before. I had to return and revert the change.
Once again, I had to speak with Keyla at the North Central Expressway (75) location, and her attitude had not improved. When I decided not to move from the current space, she charged me $60. I asked if this fee could be waived, but she immediately replied with a resounding "No. We have already done something to accommodate you." When I asked if she had any empathy for the robbery situation I was going through, she coldly stated that it was not their responsibility. I clarified that I was talking about empathy, not responsibility.
After paying the $60, Keyla told me I was good to go, but my bank account had already been charged for this month. I continue to receive messages stating that my rent is 'past due'. There has been no empathy, no competence, no kindness, and no quality customer service whatsoever.
The worst part is that even Public Storage admitted to the detective that they don't have any cameras overseeing my space, leaving me completely out of luck and having to take a painful financial loss. Furthermore, I was informed by the police department that the location at 406 South Plano Road is frequently targeted by thieves.
My experience with Public Storage has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I strongly advise against using their services.
Do not rent here!! Everything in my unit was stolen, when I reported this to the police, they said this is a frequent occurrence. I also had to hunt down the property manager Raini, who I could never get to call me back. I had to contact corp., twice to get Rita, their district manager to call me back. No one was compassionate. And if you want to deal with an actual person, good luck, it’s just a kiosk inside of their lobby. In addition, there are NO carts to assist you in moving your items, not to mention upon move in day, the entire facility reeked of pot. If you want to keep your items protected, DO NOT rent from this Public Storage!!!!

Raini was working the Riverfall location in Dallas today and she is awesome! The staff there has not been all that great over the past 2 years, but today Raini just brought a whole new fresh positive attitude and made the experience great!

This was my son's unit. I went there to start moving his things and had trouble getting into his unit. There was no one there to talk to about it so I called the number on the door and no one ever answered, this was at 4:30 on a Monday. His is a smaller unit and is located inside. Walking through to get to his I looked around at the other units and thought "I wouldn't store any of my personal belongings here". No idea why my son chose that particular place.
Just walked into my storage unit for the first time. The unit has cobwebs everywhere and the light is burn out. Evidently they do not check the units first before turning them over to new customers. They also don’t have anyone onsite to address these issues. They have a kiosk where you video call someone and they will then submit a request so that someone at a later date can address them. However, YOU HAVE TO PHYSICALLY COME BACK IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE ADDRESSED! Ridiculous. I guess you get what you pay for.

I haven't even moved in yet and I am already prepared to move out over Public Storage's MESS of a billing system. I am not even late and I get multiple emails requesting payment! I even got an email October 10 stated I missed a payment when I wasn't even due until November 1. Just a couple of days after making that payment, I get another email requesting payment! No email contact for this company, and their live assistant chat bot is dumber than a box of rocks! Couldn't get to an email address or a live person to save my life.
Great help at walking me through everything, including payments, where my storage space will be, and how to access to the overall area. Repeatedly cleared up whatever questions I had as well.
Needs ro be open at least until 10:00pm
Supposed to be cooled but hotter than blazes if you get upstairs unit. Most times cant find cart to move stuff to unit & elevator was even out of order. Shame they dont have on-site personnel.
I got storage unit there
Do not get units from here. Our unit was broken into and they notified me 2 hours after my husband discovered it. You can never seem to contact the location manager.
Most insecure place you can put anything valuable. My locker has been broken into twice in the past year. They make you buy their lock (pretty sturdy) but then place it in the softest pot metal latch available. No security cameras. No lock to the door to enter the building. Only an electric gate that police said is frequently open. Better buy the insurance.

There are a lot of people that live in the units and they break into people's units I've seen guys running out of the side door with stuff in hand and no one says or does anything about it and they have cameras I also watched a guy and lady throwing punches at the gate I would never store my things here afain
The lady that helped me (Amber? or Amy I think her name was) was super sweet and helped me find good deals. She showed me around--twice--due to a misunderstanding. She even went out of her way to stay extra longer for me. Thanks Amber for your great customer service:)

Renting one unit took literally a week!! I spoke with numerous people trying to complete my reservation. Even a kiosk lady that you can hardly hear which by the way cancelled my reservation. Luckily I was close to Wendy at 11020 Audelia Road Dallas Texas. She was a godsend! After fixing the problem with prior kiosk lady canceling on me it was Wendy to the rescue!!
They never have someone there at the office to help when you need it! The place is dirty and getting run down. I have a disability and they never seem to have a dolly available!
