Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 406 S Plano Road, Garland, TX

Great help at walking me through everything, including payments, where my storage space will be, and how to access to the overall area. Repeatedly cleared up whatever questions I had as well.

Needs ro be open at least until 10:00pm

Supposed to be cooled but hotter than blazes if you get upstairs unit. Most times cant find cart to move stuff to unit & elevator was even out of order. Shame they dont have on-site personnel.

Do not get units from here. Our unit was broken into and they notified me 2 hours after my husband discovered it. You can never seem to contact the location manager.

Most insecure place you can put anything valuable. My locker has been broken into twice in the past year. They make you buy their lock (pretty sturdy) but then place it in the softest pot metal latch available. No security cameras. No lock to the door to enter the building. Only an electric gate that police said is frequently open. Better buy the insurance.

There are a lot of people that live in the units and they break into people's units I've seen guys running out of the side door with stuff in hand and no one says or does anything about it and they have cameras I also watched a guy and lady throwing punches at the gate I would never store my things here afain

The lady that helped me (Amber? or Amy I think her name was) was super sweet and helped me find good deals. She showed me around--twice--due to a misunderstanding. She even went out of her way to stay extra longer for me. Thanks Amber for your great customer service:)

Renting one unit took literally a week!! I spoke with numerous people trying to complete my reservation. Even a kiosk lady that you can hardly hear which by the way cancelled my reservation. Luckily I was close to Wendy at 11020 Audelia Road Dallas Texas. She was a godsend! After fixing the problem with prior kiosk lady canceling on me it was Wendy to the rescue!!

They never have someone there at the office to help when you need it! The place is dirty and getting run down. I have a disability and they never seem to have a dolly available!

Stavros is the most amazing human being working in customer service. He was so incredibly helpful on moving day, literally the only person that was helpful and positive on moving day and he went above and beyond to help me and make the entire moving process easier and less complicated. Would recommend this location to anyone I know based on Stavros alone, he's a great dude.

Horrible! The security is dreadful. Somebody already tried to break into my mother's unit once. Getting the issue resolved was like pulling teeth with their staff. They literally have one job, to safely store items. Sad!

I’m changing my 5 star rating because this location treats you nice when you are signing for your unit but once you wanna cancel for any reason they start treating you rudely. I should’ve listened to the other reviews.

We had a great experience here with management going above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated and happy with our storage space as quickly as possible. Staff is taking all the precautions to prevent illness, with plastic partitions, masks, and limited people allowed in the office.

Brianna was very helpful and had an amazing attitude. Made a reservation online and came to look at the unit and was done with the process in about 10 minutes.

Went in looking for a 10x20 unit one of the items needing to store was a non running vehicle. Which we were told can't store because it will not have a value for if or when they need to auction the unit. She said it must be running however storing something that is flammable like gasoline is not allowed. Never ran into this issue before. So we asked if we could see the unit any ways for storing our other items and was told no that she can't show us anything because of the 6 foot distancing rule???? You can show a unit and still be 6 feet away. So we went right around the corner to Watson Self Storage and man this is how a business should operate. Very polite showed us a unit and we signed on the dotted line. The Public storage location has a lot to learn about customer service.

The team here was very helpful. I came in and spoke to Briana who was very helpful and informative. I was very impressed by her overall customer service and the initiative that she took in making sure that all of my questions were answered and that I was taken care of. She automatically interpreted my concerns and made recommendations that were better suited for me. She even worked with another PS location to ensure that they understood my needs and expressed the desire to want to help her team mates (if needed) with any questions. Great job Briana!

Changing my 5 star review to a 1 star, as my wife and I had a terrible experience upon moving out. One of the two units we rented got infested with termites, ruining about 4-5 of our boxes full of clothes, expensive arts and crafts supplies, and many of our children's keepsakes. Seeing as much of this stuff had to be discarded, and was at least $1k in value total, we were very upset. On top of that, the insurance they make you buy only covers up to $250 for vermin, subject to a $100 deductible. This is a complete scam they run, so they don't have to accept responsibility for whenever the units get compromised by bad weather, vermin, etc. Also, I never got a call back from the building manager when I left her a voicemail about the infestation, and when I notified the employee on duty the next day about it, she didn't seem to take it seriously. Never using Public Storage again, and I will make sure that my friends and family don't use their services either.

My unit was burglarized. They cut the security lock of with a grinder. They stole all of my plumbing tools for my business. No security cameras on site. I wouldn't advise storing anything of value there. At least 4 units were broken into. Move to a facility with cameras and better security.

I really appreciate the employee T J for her exceptional service. She is kind, polite, goes out of her ways to help the customer. She is really an asset to this company. Am so glad we have met her at this place. Unfortunately the manager Amanda was always Rude and un approachable. I finally moved my belongings out from this place after keeping it for one year. Paid my dues on time every single month. I was paying for Air-conditioned unit. Yet All my hard plastic bins were warped and the items were completely destroyed and and not usable.all the lids were no more closed rather inside the bin due to the heat. Even the large brand new candles were melted away. All of the new plugin refills were evaporated away due to the heat inside the unit. All the liquid soaps were bursted out. I am not talking about one or two items but my entire unit boxes and boxes of items including my clothes faded away and other items brittle and crumbled. From my experience, I don’t think my items were ever in A/C room even though Amanda charged me for an a/c unit the entire time. I would never recommend this place if you are planning to get your items in fair condition.

The service is exceptional. Amanda is very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. If I'm going to keep a unit indefinitely, I want a good relationship with staff.

We went A-1 Self Storage on the corner of Buckingham and Jupiter and the guy was a jerk! We came over here to Public Storage on Forrest and Plano. Dana was an absolute sweetheart. She was super friendly and showed us the unit right away. Plus Public Storage was cheaper for a climate control unit. I highly reccomend Public Storage.

Everyone who works at this location has been so kind and helpful to me. It is always clean and I feel very safe here. Special shout out thanks for their compassionate care when I had to transition a unit after a loved ones death. When the time came that I needed another unit, there was no hesitation about WHERE I wanted to open a second unit. Reanna and Amanda have been cheerful and so very kind and helpful.

She checks the property diligently and found that someone had gotten in my RV and left the door open. She called and helped take care of the situation.

Kathy is a great manager and this location stays very clean (including the toilet). However there are two main problems that the District & Regional Managers must address a.s.a.p. 1. install VIDEO SURVEILLANCE CAMERA'S a.s.a.p! ..... This is not an expensive addition and should have been done 2 years ago during a 6 unit burglary at this very location. AND STILL NO CAMERA'S. As for others who rent from this area, let us stomp, shout and complain in one loud voice: "We want camera's!" and NOW! 2. lower the darn indoor summer a/c temperatures to 70 -75 degrees in the climate (better yet un-climate) control areas. Eighty five (85) degrees is not climate control MANAGERS! Address these two major issues and you have a renter for the next several years.

My experience with Kathy was awesome! I reserved my unit online and she had called to set up an appointment in less than 5 minutes. When I went in for my appointment, she had everything ready to go so it was a really quick process. Afterward, I managed to lock my keys in my car and she was ready to help me out, even going so far as to actually fish them out of the seat through the slightly opened window! She was awesome and I look forward to working with her in the future!

I have been in Public Storage facilities for almost 20 yr.s at various locations & have moved units 3 times at this location. By far Kathy has been the most personable & helpful property manager I have encountered, Besides being friendly, she was VERY helpful in helping me recently when I needed reserve & move to a smaller unit. She helped me save money & was very informative about the timing necessary to get things done. AWESOME WORK!

I've rented both a climate-controlled and an outside unit here. Kathy is friendly and helpful, and I've had no problems with the units. The outside ones are convenient for easy access, and dollies are provided for moving your stuff to the indoor, climate-controlled units.
