Second time renting a unit from this location, haven’t had any problems! If you have renters insurance you’ll need to swing by the front office to let them know to avoid the default insurance - the app wasn’t too clear about this when I rented. Shoutout to Andy for great service and answering my questions.

Incredibly overpriced and continues to climb seemingly every few months.
The facilities are barely maintained, it’s still relatively new but I always seem to find something new broken.
Access is terrible, the app never connects to the right thing and now they hide the code to make it even harder.
There is no enforcement of parking so pretty much every time I go there is someone blocking the entrance just to make it easier for them.
The initial price may see good but it won’t last long.
Atrocious business practice. Nearly doubled my rent (from $56/mo to $94/mo) without any warning after 6 months. They claimed they sent me an email and a letter of which neither were received. They finally agreed to bring my rent back down to $56 but for only three months. I went online and my same exact unit was available for $45/mo. They bait you in with low prices then double you up as soon as they can. On top of this, their app doesn't work for unlocking gates/doors/elevators and the property manager is almost never there. Go literally anywhere else.

I've been storing my belongings at Public Storage and my experience has been disappointing. They decided to hit me with an $80/month rate increase after the first 6 months. This sudden price hike was both unexpected and unreasonable.
The manager has did extend my current rate for another 3 months when I voiced my concerns. However, this doesn't excuse the fact that I was sold a 10x10 unit with a small door. Unfortunately, I was stuck with it because it was late, and my movers were already on-site. The manager offered to move me, but I knew I would be paying to move all my things before the rate increase and it was already a huge inconvenience.
The facility's temperature is kept at a sweltering 80 degrees, which is far from ideal when you're in the process of moving. It made my experience even more uncomfortable and challenging.
In addition to these problems, the locking mechanism has proven to be exceptionally annoying. Managing it has been a source of constant frustration, further exacerbating my overall negative experience.
Due to Public Storage's pricing practices and the issues I've encountered, I find myself in a situation where I'll need to hire movers AGAIN to transfer my belongings to a different storage facility. I'm determined to find a storage spot that doesn't engage in these pricing games and treats its customers fairly.
I highly discourage anyone from doing business with Public Storage due to their disappointing pricing practices and unit quality. If you're looking for a storage facility that values transparency and customer satisfaction, I suggest exploring other options in your area. It's disheartening when a business puts profit over its customers' needs.
Changing my review from 2 stars to 1 star! I was sharing a unit with my partner and his access code wouldn't work on numerous occasions! I was trying to move out in 100 degree heat and a friend had an hour to spare to help me move out a large item with his truck, so time was of the essence! I couldn't gain access with his code or the app! Then they said I wasn't authorized user. I even had my partner add my name 2 more times and they said I wasn't authorized. I brought my laptop in to show that I was indeed an authorized user and I also showed them the app with the storage unit name, number, and login code!
Instead of letting me in, I had to sit through a few more calls before they let me in and even then, nothing was fixed regarding the code. Being this was a holiday weekend, I was forced to get everything out immediately vs going through this for the 3rd time. I had made them aware of the issue the day before! It was a nightmare!
Because we were such in a hurry to move because of my friend's limited lunch hour, an expensive item was broken. We would have had plenty of time to move had not dealt with the hassles we encountered. I certainly wouldn't trust to run my business out of this storage unit. You never know if you'll be able to get in!
After the experiences I've had there over the past year, I highly recommend going elsewhere! Never again will I use public storage and I'm telling everyone to stay away!
I also saw through reddit there's a huge crime issue. Thieves are renting spaces only to rob others since they have a code to get in. Be aware!

They raised prices from $48 to $84 per month for a 5 x 5 unit the month after I signed. Very deceptive price gouging and I’m reporting them to BBB

a lot of bugs in my sofa and much of my furniture/boxes! Spent countless hours cleaning through everything to not allow bugs spreading in my new home. I reported this and asked for a call and email with management over a month ago yet still have not received either. Followed up and was told the on-site staff still had not received an update either. Have been asking for my lease to be canceled since and have still continued to be charged.
No one's ever in the office; probably too busy helping thieves pick through customers' lockers.

In summary, a theft and 3 accomplices was able to rent a unit with FAKE ID and CREDIT CARD online - taking advantage of the company’s “CONTACTLESS PROTOCOL” to break into the facility and came / went for FOUR DAYS un-detected before someone called to inform us. Four thefts ran rampant through my and other tenants units for 4 DAYS with NO NOTIFICATION.
APD showed up on the 4th day and the front desk attendant said prior to their arrival “WELL I HAVE TO LEAVE FOR THE DAY” and when APD arrived told the front desk “NO SIR, SIT TIGHT.” They were on sight for approximately 12 hours to analyze the crime scene and staff kept trying to leave. APD would not allow them to given it was an active crime scene.
In summary, the staff is lazy, the facility is totally not secure and the company hides behind an onerous contract to avoid any culpability for negligence.
APD arrested the lead suspect and charged him with a 1st degree felony. The other 3 suspects have not been apprehended as of 11/22/2023.
APD said there has been and continues to be a city theft rings rampantly focused on the lack of security at PUBLIC STORAGE facilities all over the city.
Avoid at ALL COSTS, especially this location.
Rented a unit. Unloaded my whole car just to get the unit and realize it's locked already. Had to take everything back down repack my car because there was no answer on the phone. By this point I'm just disappointed. And don't want to do it all again. Decide to just forget it try again another day. Go to get refund. Well their 29 dollar administration fee non refundable. Should be criminal.
y'ALL there's no way💀... but it's true, I got SCAMMED by Public Storage this summer!☠️ Only a couple other reviewers also had experienced something similar. I got baited by their "$1-only rent for the first month!" scheme! The storage unit was perfectly FINE, all my stuff INTACT, but I ended up paying double the amount I was expecting. They charged my bank account with the auto-pay function a couple weeks after I moved into my unit, then promised a refund, then ghosted me every time I tried to ask for the absent refund.

Here's the detailed rundown if you're interested:
> I researched online and called them to check if the $1 deal was real.
> Learning that it was legit, I chose the storage space and ended up paying: $1 in rent, $19.99 for the required lock, $1.65 in tax, and $29 for admin fees.
> Got the correct email receipts, the correct charge to my bank account, moved in successfully!
> Ten days after moving in, I got charged $46.20 via auto-pay! I neither was alerted that my auto-pay was on before this charge nor even aware of what this was for!! (The email stated nothing about the reason.)
I then turn off auto-pay via the website.
> First call about it: the guy promised me a refund within the next week. (He said I was charged in advance for the second month of rent, even though the second month was weeks away. Since I was planning to only occupy the space for a month, he said I'd get my $46.20 back.) Refund never showed up.
>I successfully moved out of the unit. I went to the front office to confirm the closing of my account, but the door was locked and no one was there! Even though it was 2 hrs before closing! This was shady, but thankfully I successfully closed my account online. *whew!*
> I then left a couple messages on their voice mail, received a couple voice mails, (because I wasn't always available and on my phone when they called), and called them live once more. During these, I talked to another customer service lady who said she'd send a refund within the next 24-48 hrs. Refund never came.
> I call again abt a week later, with no one answering, so I hang up and try talking to a live chat attendant via their chat feature online. They promise me they'll contact me within 24-48 hrs about whether or not the refund request would be approved. They didn't even tell me why I was charged the $46.20 this time, which I thought was suspicious (it makes it seem like the first guy's reason was made up...) I even asked to make sure I'd be contacted if the request was NOT approved, and the chat attendant said, "Correct." Then ENDED the chat WITHOUT MY CONSENT - that was so shady!
> Guess what?!? Like the greatest surprise of the year, I was NOT contacted AT ALL about my refund, NOR did I recieve it!
It has now been a month and 10 days since I moved into the unit.
You may be wonderin, "Dawg, why does all this matter? It was just 46 bux, not worth the complainin nor time."
You may even BE public storage, thinkin, "dawg u dont need ur 46 bux, we need it more bc we are a big company who needs to feed our employees 🥺👉👈 with every buck we can squeeze out of our customers"
My answer - I'M A COLLEGE STUDENT JUST TRYNA GET BY. Every dollar I keep in my bank account is valuable and precious. I don't understand why I, as a first-time customer who acted in integrity, had to be lied to and deceived. Like, if you're gonna SNeAkiLY pULL mY money outta my bank, AT LEAST TRUTHFULLY TELL ME WHY AND DONT PROMISE ME A REFUND YOU'LL NEVER GIVE ME😠😡👹👺💩❗️❗️

Our unit was broken into and the staff treated the matter as it wasn’t there issue. They had “there’s nothing we can do” attitude. We found out 3 months after the break in only because I showed up in person and found out that way. According to the reviews this happens frequently at this location. It seems to be an inside job given that no one that works there could provide zero information to lean on. The detective assigned to our case said they didn’t even provide a picture or any video footage to work with. The staff at this location is incompetent and disrespectful. And the monthly fees were outrageous, over $300 per month. Beware for however decides to rent there. Save yourself the troubles and rent somewhere else.

My girlfriend rented a unit from this facility as she was only going to be gone a month and needed a safe and secure place for her valuable items to be kept. When we returned a month later we found her unit completely picked through. Couch, bed, bed frame, Jewelry, mattress, and many more personal valuables were all gone! When we asked the front desk what was going on and what we could do they only gave us a number to call and told us they couldn’t do anything! We will NEVER rent from a Public Storage unit again and advise others to exercise caution when doing so and BRING YOUR OWN LOCK!!! Best of luck if you ever decide to rent a unit, you’re going to need it! They told us this happens often here as well!!

Half of my things are missing from this storage place and the keep calling me to to give them a good review but since half of my personal items including my husbands things are missing. I would advise not using this place not to mention they brought up the price in 3 months it was 80 the 90 then over a hundred dollars for the place just to get my things back to find out I have a lot of missing items. I'm a college student looking for different options for the summer, and this one was the most convenient and affordable. The guy that helped us was Aaron. Honestly, I was so glad that he was there to give us the run down because I had no idea what I was looking for and he made everything very easy to understand.
I was shopping around for a place to store some belongings before a big move. Out of all the places I went to Public Storage had the best service and the employee Aaron did a great job of showing me all my options and working with me on all the details. Aaron was very courteous and knowledgeable even with a fair few people comming in and out of the office while I was sorting out some details with my partner. We still have a few things to sort out but so far Public Storage is our tip option.
Unfortunately my unit was broken into and many irreplaceable items were stolen. Who ever did this had a code to the building. Furthermore, no video footage was found of the perpetrators. I don’t understand how that could happen - how a nationwide secure storage facility has no ability to retrieve security video or have adequate video coverage. Without video evidence the police couldn’t do anything.
Do not come here to buy retail. I’ve come here on three separate occasions to buy boxes once in the morning, and twice in afternoon all during their “open” hours of business and the door is locked and no one is there. When you call the number on the front door, it routes to a corporate office and they know nothing. The operations and management of this location needs a huge amount of improvement.

Beware of Public Storage. They raised our monthly rent by $200 in ONE YEAR at the South Lamar facility in Austin and wouldn’t consider lowering it. They assume once you have all your belongings loaded in the unit you’re trapped and they can raise the rent whenever they like. The Public Storage “We Care” customer service is there to string you along until they decide to tell you no. They will say they are raising rent based on the market, but we found an identical unit 5 minutes away for $230/month less and relocated immediately. Public Storage is in business to destroy trust with their customers - and they do it well.
This was my first time ever renting a storage unit, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was really impressed with how helpful Aaron was and how clear he made the whole process. He was very informative and helped us find the most convenient unit, and the online reservation discount was great. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and ease of the app with bluetooth for opening doors. definitely would recommend so far!

I have 4 units here. Everyone is great, access is easy.Only one thing bothers me is the lighting is timed to where you have to take a few steps into the dark in the hallways before the auto lights come on. I'm older now and this likely wouldn't have bothered me in younger years but pulling a heavy cart forward in the dark is a bit scary and imo unsafe. I have talked to mgmt a few times but no response yet.

Shout out to Nick who took care of us when we had a cylinder lock put on our already locked unit. We didnt realize that even though you dont need to buy the lock provided, you must use a cylinder lock at this location. Nick was quick to explain and got us a lock to use so we wouldnt be locked out again. Good customer service. App easy.

Excellent customer experience with all automated locks that link to the app on your phone. So easy to use and access when you need to. Clean and well lit. The front desk with Stephanie helped me with some billing changes, all expeditiously handed with a phone call. Highly recommended.

I came in to the office and I was taken care of by a lovely woman named Stephanie. She was so helpful and nice made my whole process easy. I had some issues with my account being charged twice by mistake by she helped me get that fixed. She was also nice enough to help me select some moving items that I didn’t even think of, she was super helpful at making my process fast and easy. I usually don’t write reviews but this woman was so helpful to me that she totally deserved one.
