Disappointing Experience with Vehicle Storage at Public Storage If I could write 0 star, I would. I recently encountered a disappointing situation with Public Storage at 36 Merrick Road. Seeking a secure location for my luxury car during the snowy winter months, I reached out to their customer service on December 14. They offered me a storage solution at $300 per month for six months. Upon arrival at the facility, however, I was informed by a front desk employee, Edweena, that this location does not store vehicles. While Edweena was both kind and professional, she could not resolve this issue, even after contacting the manager, Danny Bishop. I still have not receive any refund yet. This experience was particularly frustrating due to the clear initial communication of my specific storage needs and the financial commitment involved. The inconvenience and financial loss resulting from this miscommunication were significant. From a reputable company like Public Storage, I expected more accurate information and better service. I hope this review encourages Public Storage to enhance their communication and customer service, preventing similar incidents for future customers.

The Best Customer Service that I have ever experienced in the many years I have been using storage units. I first went to another storage unit for pricing, they where so rude to me, I asked there name and they wouldn't even answer me. I then went to Public Storage and Joara welcomed me with a warm smile and took the time to show me units explain the loading door operation and helped me set up my Public Storage App and showed me how to use it. I walked out like I found my home! On the day I moved my movers where terrible, they told me that they couldn't fit all my items in so I had to get another storage unit Kimberly was working and it was almost 5:30, I was very upset and couldn't get my app working. Kimberly said don't worry I understand and I'II set you up. This is what customer service is all about! Edweena always welcomes me with a cheerful greeting. I feel like I walk into the show Cheers every time I go to there office. Keep up the Great work ladies your all outstanding in your jobs!!!!

There’s literally never anyone here. I came here 5 times in the past 2 months and every time I come there’s nobody in the office during open business hours, they literally just disappear, lock the doors and go on hour long breaks. I wouldn’t care but they lock the hand trucks up and the keys are in the office and you need to sign for them…it’s the most absurd and annoying process.

The place is nice and clean but as a mover it do have some downside to it. The elevator have and door have keypad locks which slows us down everytime the door closes on you also they have the orange post right at the loading dock which makes the truck from backing all the way to the landing.

My experience with moving in this storage was horrible their was NO CART to take my stuff to my unit and I paid my money, me and the man that move me in we end up being their about 20 minutes after 9pm and the next morning I got a called from public storage saying I was there pass 9pm you have no cart to move faster and they have the The audacity to call and complain I find them rude and disrespectful to do that I wouldn't recommend it to no one....on September 22/2022 I called Daniel Bishop and they block my number because i been calling about getting back some of my money. On July 11/2022 I move in public storage and paid $267. and on July 12/2022 I get an harassment called, so before the situation get worse I decided to move out on July 15/2022.... I call the headquarters in California about getting back some of my money because I only was in the storage for five day's and I was told they don't give back it's month to month. If I did stay in the public storage my next payment would be August 01/2022 for $185.53 but I move-out on July 15/2022 so the professional and honest and fair thing to do is return balance of my money!!!

Joara was AMAZING! I had an emergency and needed storage in a matter of hours. She was an absolute blessing…kind, considerate, informative, courteous, humble. Joara MADE time to help me find the right unit size, etc. She walked me through the facility and to the unit, and even showed me how to operate the gate and use the equipment. The facility is well taken care of - clean to the eyes and nose. Having to use storage was not in my plan, but when life threw a curve ball, Joara made it effortless. Thank you, Joara!!!!

I am thankful I had a place to store my things "But don't be late on your payment or miss a month you are paying three payments for that one month you miss plus they change the prices to quick when I open a storage unit I was paying under a hundred dollars I had the unit for over two years. I just close it out my monthly bill was one hundred and eight nine dollars a month. The place very clean and convenient.

Today's visit was really a surprise. Joara met me with friendly and patient help. She went through the process of opening the gate manually as well as with the app. She walked me to my locker and reviewed all the practices I would need. I came to this public storage a couple days ago to enquire information about a storage space for my sister-in-law. I was greeted with welcome arms by joara. She provided me with all the information that I needed and explained to me the process. I would definitely recommend my sister-in-law to come and rent the space that she needs for next month. I was very upset when I got there as I had some issues to clear up and she gave me a smile and not only fixed my situation but IMPROVED my situation going forward making things so much easier for me!!! She went out of her way to help in more than one way with a smile and understanding nature it made me so happy and relieved!! I needed some help to get to the next step and she got me there with no stress.... she was professional, courteous, understanding and most of all EFFECTIVE!!! She got the job done, which sadly these days is usually a struggle. I really appreciate what Jaci-Ann was able to do for me and all of her help. It's so nice when you find a company and people who will work with you and help when needed. There were other customers waiting before and after me and she made us all feel important and took care of each of our needs. She is a huge asset to the company and this location. I was helping a friend move into this facility recently and the only reason why I give it 3 stars is because where the loading dock is located, I don't understand why there isn't ramp located adjacent to that entrance. It would make it a lot easier to load and unload items there. There are steps there, but to make it easier for all you need to also have a ramp there. I have never seen a loading dock that didn't have a ramp also to assist you with moving items in and out.

The office person named Taylor needs to take a class on customer service. Jenna was the complete opposite - friendly, helpful and resourceful. I was satisfied with my storage unit, but Public Storage jacked up the monthly rent by $65 in my third month, so think twice about using this rental facility.

Best customer service I’ve ever had. My unit was too small and I needed a bigger one - Kevin @ the front desk helped me switch over to a great unit and was beyond friendly helping me out. I stopped by the store while I was in town visiting for boxes to move some stuff for my father. Taylor was great she helped me find exactly what I needed. Her patience and customer service were much appreciated after a frustrating moving ordeal. Would recommend to Taylor and this location to family and friends who live in the area.

I went to a self-storage by another company in the neighborhood and then I called Public Storage and spoke to Taylor and the prices are not only better (less by $100/month) but the service is excellent to boot. Don’t walk — run to Public Storage at 36 Merrick Rd in Rockville Centre and save money while experiencing outstanding customer service. If Taylor is out, ask for Leslie but definitely look for Taylor first.

She was all alone in what seemed to have been one of their busy and hectic days and yet she handled it with grace. I had a long wait but not once did I feel impatient. She continued to apologize throughout my wait time and let me know that she would be with me as soon as humanly possible. Joara was a good listener. She seemed empathetic to my issues and gave helpful advice on how I should stack my boxes and store my furniture. She tried to upsell like a good employee should (I know I always did!) unfortunately, I am a well prepared mover! All in all, my experience with signing up for my first month was stress-free and I have Joara to thank for that. I expected so much worst from yelp reviews. Thank goodness I didn’t listen! Very clean and safe place. Office staff always "away for xx number of minutes" though. Go super early or late to avoid crowd. Beginning/end of month busy.

We are Pods customers looking to downsize...it would cost us more money for a smaller unit. We came to Public Storage and Taylor greeted us as soon as we came through the door. She has amazing customer service and knows her product inside and out. You don’t come across someone like her often and I’m glad we did. New customer here.

My absolute favorite public storage. Not only do they have great deals, but their employee, Keri, goes above and beyond when dealing with customers (both short and long term) one on one. She is not only very polite, but she is definitely the best at what she does. I won't ever think twice about using this storage unit again.

I stored at this location last year and it was out of my way this time around that I needed the storage but I decided that it was worth it because this storage is really clean. We discussed what unit format would be best for me and I decided on a 5x10 unit. Maria also called around to other local facilities to get prices.
