Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 360 Highway 34, Matawan, NJ

This place is a joke. There's no one on-site. If you want to see a unit, you make an appointment. When you make an appointment, they no show and no call AND THEN, send you an email saying that they've been trying to contact you. While you're waiting for them to show up, you meet unhappy customers that tell you that they raise their price every 3 months. Good luck!

Place is clean. People at the front desk are very nice and helpful.

I do NOT recommend this place at all - staff is horrible, never did anything to help us. Everything was full of mold. Don’t even waste money on Climate controlled because everytime we went in there it was always humid & hot. Even called corporate and they were rude. Never wasting money here ever again.

Horrible experience with Tara - she is very rude and argumentative. If I could give 0 stars I would. I called numerous times no response for two days. Corporate needs to evaluate this location. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO DIFFERENT STORAGE FACILITY! Extra Space or any other storage facility in the area.

Haven’t even had the space a year and they tried to raised my rent for the 3rd time!! I left and they would even prorate because I left 2 weeks early and kept the months rent after they told me they would. They are a rip off.

I called for info on getting a storage space since I'm moving. The person on the phone (Sarah, I think), was super helpful and I plan to visit the facility soon to rent a space.

Bork is extremely helpful and kind, answered all my questions.

Upon arriving the front desk area appeared to be well maintained and kept up with, very clean and tidy. The young man named Bork greeted me with a smile and happily answered all my questions regarding the location and price. Will absolutely be using this location going forward and recommending it to others.

Please be aware about renting at this location nothing bad headaches uneven pavement water leaks into the units due to improper pitch and the property managers don’t do absolutely nothing the bathrooms are always disgustingly dirty And locked The district manager doesn’t do nothing even if you complain to them trying to some of that was a big inconvenience with them trying to pave so you have no access to the units the lights on the property go out constantly so if you’re trying to do anything in the evening time you’re not able to see anything and God for bid you don’t move out on time they will charge you a full rate and lock your units

The staff is friendly and helpful. There are usually some units available depending on the size you're looking for, I've been storing for almost 2 years now. Within the last 2 months the exterior paint was reapplied on the units and the lot surface has been repaved. Great, quiet storage place!

Walked into Matawan and Michael was extremely.kind and helped us with any questions we had. The experience was pleasant and he took care of all out needs. I cannot recommend this location enough

I rented a parking space at the Public Storage in Matawan for my RV on May 7, 2022. About 1 month later I was informed that a painting project would be starting on or about July 6, 2022, and would last about 30 days.Tarps would be provided for those customers that needed them. I called the office to see if they'd have a tarp large enough to cover my RV. The tarps hadn't arrived at the site yet, but the person in the office said she'd reach out to the DM and get back to me. When she did get back to me, she still had no confirmation from the DM as to the size of the tarps. With no cover for my RV, I had to remove it from Matawan. I wasn't able to procure another space for my unit until July 5th, at which point I picked up my RV and left the Matawan site. The contract states that if a move out doesn't happen by the 1st of the month the charge would be for the whole month. However, I was forced to vacate my parking space because of their paint project. Still, I was charged for the ENTIRE month of July! I reached out to corporate 2x via their website, and have yet to get a response. This is unfair and greedy.

They are everything you would want in a storage facility. First of all, the staff is top notch. Professional, and attentive; thank you Jill & Mike!!! The place is clean, accessible, safe and secure. 100% recommend. You guys are the best!

Mike the property manager for Matawan is awesome!! He is a HUGE asset to public storage. He is well informed and has an easy to understand manner in which he explains the process. He told me he would call me in a week to confirm the confirm a storage unit and he was true to his word. He helped me find the best storage unit available at the best price. I can't say enough about his work ethic and dedication to customer service! Jerry Mosseri

WORST PLACE EVERRRRR!!! There is NEVER anyone in the office. They charge you $15/month insurance fee however if you need to tell them something is wrong with your unit you must wait until one of the 17 daily breaks is over. The ONE person that is supposedly “working” will always “BE RIGHT BACK”. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Oh, and they also change/raise the rental rate at their leisure. I wish I could give this place 0 stars.

We traveled from out of state and arrived on a Saturday moments before close to finalize our rental initiated online. Pete was so professional and patient with us, explained the whole process, in spite of going beyond business hours. He is a definite attribute to Public's!

Having recently relocated from out of state, I was researching storage options. The Matawan Public Storage facility had been recommended by a family member and was conveniently located. The website was informative and easy to navigate. I had additional questions, so I called the number on the website and was connected with Laurie in their regional office. Laurie was very helpful and she put me in touch with the Matawan facility manager, Tara. Tara was a delight! She answered all my questions and provided helpful information. It was a pleasure speaking with her!
