I called for info on getting a storage space since I'm moving. The person on the phone (Sarah, I think), was super helpful and I plan to visit the facility soon to rent a space.

Upon arriving the front desk area appeared to be well maintained and kept up with, very clean and tidy. The young man named Bork greeted me with a smile and happily answered all my questions regarding the location and price. Will absolutely be using this location going forward and recommending it to others.

Please be aware about renting at this location nothing bad headaches uneven pavement water leaks into the units due to improper pitch and the property managers don’t do absolutely nothing the bathrooms are always disgustingly dirty And locked The district manager doesn’t do nothing even if you complain to them trying to some of that was a big inconvenience with them trying to pave so you have no access to the units the lights on the property go out constantly so if you’re trying to do anything in the evening time you’re not able to see anything and God for bid you don’t move out on time they will charge you a full rate and lock your units

The staff is friendly and helpful. There are usually some units available depending on the size you're looking for, I've been storing for almost 2 years now. Within the last 2 months the exterior paint was reapplied on the units and the lot surface has been repaved. Great, quiet storage place!

I rented a parking space at the Public Storage in Matawan for my RV on May 7, 2022. About 1 month later I was informed that a painting project would be starting on or about July 6, 2022, and would last about 30 days.Tarps would be provided for those customers that needed them. I called the office to see if they'd have a tarp large enough to cover my RV. The tarps hadn't arrived at the site yet, but the person in the office said she'd reach out to the DM and get back to me. When she did get back to me, she still had no confirmation from the DM as to the size of the tarps. With no cover for my RV, I had to remove it from Matawan. I wasn't able to procure another space for my unit until July 5th, at which point I picked up my RV and left the Matawan site. The contract states that if a move out doesn't happen by the 1st of the month the charge would be for the whole month. However, I was forced to vacate my parking space because of their paint project. Still, I was charged for the ENTIRE month of July! I reached out to corporate 2x via their website, and have yet to get a response. This is unfair and greedy.

They are everything you would want in a storage facility. First of all, the staff is top notch. Professional, and attentive; thank you Jill & Mike!!! The place is clean, accessible, safe and secure. 100% recommend. You guys are the best!

Mike the property manager for Matawan is awesome!! He is a HUGE asset to public storage. He is well informed and has an easy to understand manner in which he explains the process. He told me he would call me in a week to confirm the confirm a storage unit and he was true to his word. He helped me find the best storage unit available at the best price. WORST PLACE EVERRRRR!!! There is NEVER anyone in the office. They charge you $15/month insurance fee however if you need to tell them something is wrong with your unit you must wait until one of the 17 daily breaks is over. The ONE person that is supposedly “working” will always “BE RIGHT BACK”. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Oh, and they also change/raise the rental rate at their leisure. I wish I could give this place 0 stars.

We traveled from out of state and arrived on a Saturday moments before close to finalize our rental initiated online. Pete was so professional and patient with us, explained the whole process, in spite of going beyond business hours. He is a definite attribute to Public's!

Having recently relocated from out of state, I was researching storage options. The Matawan Public Storage facility had been recommended by a family member and was conveniently located. The website was informative and easy to navigate. I had additional questions, so I called the number on the website and was connected with Laurie in their regional office. Laurie was very helpful and she put me in touch with the Matawan facility manager, Tara. Tara was a delight! She answered all my questions and provided helpful information. It was a pleasure speaking with her!

I had to get a bigger unit the day I was moving in. Rhonda was fabulous. So accommodating. I would recommend this Public Storage.

Good facility with fair prices, and courteous staff. Downside is it isn't 24/7 (self storage from 6am to 9pm daily, 365 days a year). For someone moving odds and ends and with a hectic schedule, a 24/7 option would be a much needed perk.

Dude put a lock on and tried to sell it witout asking if i needed one, and was pushy about other items to put in my unit. Plus hidden fees. Hours are weak also, for a coded gate it should be open longer than 6am to 9pm

The property was pretty nice, but inside had damage & the outside units or at least the one i was in had a nice handful of red tinted black spiders. The units are much more expensive than other companies... seriously excessive cost for use of a unit on a piece of land. For the price i could have purchased an enclosed trailer to keep my things in...i also called to speak about the extra charges and was on the account but was told by whoever answered it had to be account holder, been in retail business for 20 yrs, any time someone on an account has questions if they verify the information then you have always been able to help them... Definitely NOT recommending this place to anyone... go on craigslist and buy an enclosed trailer is cheaper and will more than likely come in handy next time you need space.

This is my second time renting a storage unit at Public Storage at this location. They are very friendly and the units are always in good condition. They have multiple sizes in both climate control and not. Very happy with this location.

Long since left, while the move in prices were competitive and the facility is fairly well kept I finally left because of the rate increases and everytime I drove passed the exit gate was broken in the open position. Makes one question security. Otherwise didn't have any concerns during my stay but definitely not a long term place to rent from.

Don't be fooled by their advertised rates. They will increase significantly after a few months.

Standard self-storage. The staff were helpful, and made it easy to signup and cancel when no longer needed. No “gotchas” or surprises when canceling. As most facilities do, they try to sell you additional insurance, but did not force it on you. There is ample parking and the facility is spacious. It’s a newer facility, clean, and easy to navigate. The price is a little higher than others in the area.

The facility is kept clean & neat. Rates are good. I have rented from many storage facilities in the past, so you kind of know what to expect. This is the first one I've reserved & booked online & put my move in date (expecting to go in a day or 2 before to finalize everything). I get a call from someone here that I must come in within a day or 2 to sign paperwork & make payment. It was a busy week for me but managed to run in. They also want you to set an appointment to do this. That was a first for me. I get there & am told my rental would start as of that day because I'm signing & paying that day. After protesting, I'm told I can come in a day before or so. & thats when it would start. Pretty much as I figured. I go back 2 days before my move in date & square things up & finalize the rental unit. I'm given the insurance option & told I have to pick from 3 different options. Other places I've rented from in the past had 1 option & basic payment. We all know the insurance you get at a storage facility is a POS. If anything happens, they don't cover anything. Its a scam, but you have to have it. If you're lucky enough to collect anything due to damage, you get pennies & usually involves going back & forth for a L-O-N-G T-I-M-E...! Then they tell me I have to buy this lock cylinder for $20 because that's the only thing that will work on their doors. I asked if after my rental they take the lock back & return my $20. Answer - NO. Its your to keep. What the hell can I use this for? Anyway, I now go to the unit to make sure the gate pass works & put my lock on & notice that I could have used a regular pad lock on this. See pic

Went to public storage in old bridge and expected to just get a unit and go. Surprisingly I was met with a smile and a friendly attitude. Taryn was very helpful and very courteous. Answered all my questions and helped me pick the unit that was right for me. She has a wonderful attitude and willingness to make sure I got what I needed. This location is lucky to have someone willing to go the extra mile for there customers.

So I was in Texas on my home and remembered that I needed access to my unit the following morning in New Jersey. The problem was that it was July 4th and of course everything is closed except of course for Public Storage. Thank God because I had to have access that morning before business hours. The working property manager (Taryn) made it a point to overcome all hurdles and find a way to grant me access to my unit. Oh yeah by the way it was already 2 in the afternoon on the 4th. So yes Public Storage gets 5 stars from me for every aspect of their business especially customer service.

The additional fees, forcing you to purchase the lock (which isn't a rotary or a regular lock), mandatory insurance... basically everything with Pricing and Payments was a surprise and/ or a fairly obvious ploy to force me to give them more money, and the prices themselves, with all of these, are no longer something that made "happy". Aside from all of that, the service was excellent and they were very accommodating and kind.

I went to public storage because I needed something to protect my artwork during my move. The girl in the office, Kelly, had several ideas to help me. I ended up buying an expandable "tv box". It can fit several of my pieces in there and I can reuse it over and over. They have all kinds of other boxes and supplies as well, a one stop shop for moving, packing & storing. Thank you!

The woman who is always working whenever I go. I believe her name is either Kelly or Katie, is just absolutely wonderful. She absolutely goes above and beyond for every customer. Myself and my family have had to use storage a few times in the past during moves and what not. And K has been beyond helpful and really takes the time to explain services and fees. I wish there were more people in the world like her.

Although I haven't used public storage for their storage facilities, I did stop in to purchase a few packaging items. The facilities were very well-kept and the staff was really courteous. The girl at the front desk, Kelly, helped me buy some boxes. I wasn't sure how many I would need or what sizes for the amount of stuff I had to pack but she was very helpful and knowledgable. I would definitely come back here for my packing needs and I would try out their storage if I ever needed it because of the great service I received while I was there.

I came into the store today on Route 34 to inquire about renting a unit. We've had trouble in the past with other storage places. Our last one we had nothing but problems and constant harassment from the staff. Your representative John was probably one of the nicest representative I've ever met. Very happy, very helpful and very funny. Made me feel at ease with trusting my belongings with him. John knew what he was talking about and even explained things that I didn't understand in a way that I wasn't feeling belittled. Thank you John

Place rocks!!! Well lit at night. Climate controlled units are well lit inside. Great staff. They are there when you need them. Personal service is amazing. Never get in your way and have plenty of flat carts to move your stuff with. Very enjoyable experience. Go to Michael if you need help. He's the man!!!

I came in to this location to inquire about storage. Seeing as how this is my first time using a storage facility, I had a lot of questions. Both of the workers, Mike and John, were very helpful and extremely friendly. They took the time to not only show me around the facility but to also explain the security features of the property as well. I would whole-heartedly recommend this company.

I recently moved out of here after about a year between homes. The managers were always friendly and I always felt safe on the property. My move was stressful but Public Storage was not. I would recommend.

I moved in the other day and it went very smoothly. The manager Mike helped me figure out what size I needed since I had never done this before and everything fit perfectly. I even saved some money because I ended up needing less space than I thought. Although I have not been here very long, my experience so far has been very positive.

Good Location but Managed Poorly. Gate was broken and always open for 13 months. Yes 13 months they didn't fix a stupid gate. No Lighting when dark.
