Was there barely a month someone cut my lock off took my stuff there’s a lot of homeless around there just walking around guess I should realized it from the begininning and on top of that the insurance I got thru them says I need to prove my stuff was mine!!?? Wait someone burglarized my storage and I have to prove my belongings . Such a scam do discussed

Plz God DO NOT! Rent from here. I have been renting for over a year and Lord knows, I should have gotten my stuff out of there a long time ago. However, most recently they have put two green padlocks on my storage and refused to remove them. I have have waited for two hours for the office to be open way past the time it was supposed to be open and no one had ever came. I contacted customer support and they told me that they were going to get in touch with the property manager and the district manager and that it would take 24 to 48 hours for the green padlocks to be removed. And then, if I want them removed earlier, I may call a locksmith and have them removed but I will not be reimbursed. If I do so within the year of me, having this storage, they had raised the price of twice and that was just in the first year. I am trying to get my stuff out of storage but they are refusing to remove the locks and I will have to wait 24 hours to 48 hours for them to remove the locks and if I damage the locks to get into my unit that I pay for they will sue me. I am million times do not recommend renting from this location.

DO NOT use this facility. Everything is fine until you try to close your account, spoiler it is impossible. I was charged for additional months rent even after I closed my account. I talked with several people on the phone and in person but was always given the run around. 2 months later I received a letter that I had been sent to collections which I am now disputing. Moral of the story, this company is not worth the headache.

Do not park your car in one of the outdoor lots here! I had my car window shattered and belongings stolen. Took a day for me to come get my car after the break-in and when I arrived the shattered glass was still around my car and not cleaned up. Staff told me that break-ins happen often. There was supposed to be someone that stays on the property 24/7 to watch things but I was told they quit and no one was on site when my car was broken into. Security cameras were also apparently not working.

Marnie is an amazing person. She goes above and beyond. She was so kindhearted and thoughtful about my situation. I was well taken care of. I’m so happy that Marnie took time out of her busy day to talk with me and help me figure out which unit would be best for my situation. She genuinely cares.

I was at public storage off Sheridan yesterday and I have no idea if they train there employees to be rockstars or what but if they don’t its probably because they have Marnie. Im not at public storage everyday but im there often and from the times ive been there i can tell that just having her as an employee generates a perfect example of a 5 star employee enough in its own that they don’t need a class, or a how-to video, just send all new employee’s to Sheridan and have them work with Marnie. They will learn everything they need to and if they have any questions they will be answered promptly and correctly. Seriously, anyone who goes out and purchases there own tool in order to do a better job at there work is five star. Anyone who goes above and beyond without asking or without getting paid for it, is five star. Anyone who does something and didnt have to is five star. When you develop enough of these five star ratings in my opinion that makes you a rock star and thats what Marnie at public storage off Sheridan is. A rock star.

The people that are very understanding I was running late for my appointment that was scheduled at 2:00 p.m. and unfortunately had to delay it until 4:00 and the people would extremely nice very understanding and very courteous.

I've rented a space with them for well over a year, and they suddenly raised my rent without any notice. Not a late fee, they full on raised the rent by over $40 without any notice or warning.

BE WARNED: I was given misinformation by a customer service agent in order to get my business. They told me I would receive a pro-rated final month, since I knew I would not use the full month when I moved out. Then when I moved out early as planned, I was told they do not pro-rate/refund. I would have chosen another company if I had known that, shady for no reason at all unfortunately. There are also steep inclines leading to some of the units, which are treacherous in winter weather and roped off. Keep this in mind before accepting a unit location. Other than that, it was decent.

Great overall experience. I originally booked a space online and it wasn't going to work with my belongings. Richard was very helpful and transferred me to a unit that would work better. I had a small balance remaining from the transfer and he called me before I was charged a late fee. Very secure place and great customer service.

Phenomenal service, non negotiable

My unit was robbed in late October/early November. No call, no notification. I went to check on things and the manager was totally clueless as to how my unit was robbed and why there was a management lock on my unit. My account had no notes on it being ransacked or why the was a management lock on the door. I lost about $30k worth of my life and the insurance only paid $5k. Also, they doubled my rent fee in the few months I was doing business there, even after getting looted. Never would I recommend this place. As I was checking out, the new manager, was asking new clients for 5 star reviews based on initiation and not continuity of business experience. Security is terrible, beware of this place.

I rented a space from this location for close to a year now. About a month ago, my trailer was stolen from the property. The property manager informed me that they had footage of the event happening. A police report was filed and a detective assigned. Public Storage has ignored all emails from the detective and has not cooperated with the investigation to provide surveillance footage. I have called multiple times, spoken to the property manager and corporate. Apparently the district manager is the only one that can help, but there is no way to get a hold of him? Absolute scam. Read through other reviews, these locations constantly get robbed and they don't do anything to help. Avoid this company at all costs.

Worst Public Storage there is not only do they close gate hours early at 9:00 p.m. the management is completely rude I was exiting just after 9:00 I have been to have left my phone in my unit and the manager would not allow me to go back and grab my phone even with his escort is also extremely dirty the units are not swept out when you first purchased so there's spider webs and General debris all over the floors and walls the lighting is horrible and there's no option inside of your unit for a light so if you're there after dark you cannot see anything I suggest trying a different Public Storage or company completely

Was pretty easy transaction BUT the unit they assigned to us had a lock. We informed the guy at the front, which he said he'd have it removed when we got back with our stuff. About 2 hours later. We'll when we got back the lock wad STILL on it and no one at the front desk. To make things worse it started raining so our things got wet.

I can't wait to get my stuff out of this place. Not only do I literally have holes to the outside in my unit, but the entire unit itself doesn't seem the safest. I was in high Temps today trying to pay my late fee. BE CAREFUL AT THESE PLACES I DEAR THEY ONLY WANT TO TAKE YOUR MONEY! My TINY 5'x7' unit cost (with insurance-mandatory) $96/mnt. But that changes real quick when you go from the 6th day of the month, (I.E. your ex isn't paying his half or boom your in-between jobs) because that $96 just turned into $126 with a late fee if you go past the 6th. Oh and he's what? They cut your lock every time and you need to either provide your own or they just simply have ones there on site (incredibly hard to manage with my hands for whatever reason, they're like crazy huge padlocks) that cost you another $26. So let's add that up real quick.... oh yeah so your "had month" just cost you $150 and a huge headache just to do it all again the next month It's not a good cycle to be in and. It's upsetting they've got you in this little cycle of death if you get into it.

We got a small storage that we thought would fit all of our stuff and when it didn't and the snowstorm started moving in we went back to the office and Nate was an absolute doll!!! He helped us get a bigger storage and since all our stuff was already in the smaller one amd the storm was getting worse by the second he gave us 3 days to move it into the other one and he was extremely helpful! I love when people are actually helpful and friendly, I will be sending people here and telling them to ask for Nate or Richard! Richard helped my husband earlier in the day and Nate helped me! The woman working there isn't really that helpful and seems kinda rude at times but she was also trying to help.

Had a unit here for quite a while. They don't have anyone on site a lot of the times, and they have had a "few" break ins recently. Unfortunately my unit had nearly everything stolen out of it even though I was using the lock they require you to use.

Devon made for a quick and easy move-in. Explained everything thoroughly, allowing me to store my things and leave the property with peace of mind. Stellar service!

Robin has great customer service

The staff certainly is the best part of the facility but the bigger problem is corporate and their rates. They raised the rate $50/month without notice after the same rate for 6 months (they claim they mailed a letter which I never received) and when I tried discussing it with corporate, I got the run around, no response and ended up moving. There also seems to be an increase in broken glass/police cars there when I visit, but I think that is more a product of the location than anything else.

The customer service was awesome, friendly and so helpful for a stressful time! Love that I can open the gate with their app! Thank you!

You get what you pay for...

The facility is conveniently located, and the zero contact policy makes it very easy to get a storage bay. There is also limited vehicle storage in the facility rear. That said, the storage bays are of slightly older construction, and the 9 P.M. access cutoff is a bit of a joke. There is a risk of squatters attempting to enter the facility after 9 P.M., but I checked out at 9:01 P.M. one day and received a text on the following about keeping to closing time.... Twenty-four hour access would be nice, but the facility works well enough for my immediate needs.

So Far my experience with this location of Public Storage has been great. I could a good move in deal, the customer service was friendly and efficient. I especially live being able to access the gate by the app on my phone.

February 2021 Update Moving Out! My unit got broken into - and I unfortunately became acquainted with the dirty little secret of the storage business - break-ins are not uncommon. Despite all the advertising about safety and security, the fine print in the contract makes Public Storage NOT RESPONSIBLE if you get your stuff stolen - even if it's through negligence on their part. However, they are happy to sell you insurance, thereby profiting off of the very problem that they allowed to happen. Someone cut the lock hasp of my little 5x10 foot at the PS on Sheridan near Sloan's Lake - didn't touch the lock. The unit was located in one of the back buildings, and there are no cameras in the building. In fact, I discovered (after the fact) that there are only four camera angles on the entire property, mainly focused outside near the gate. But they don't monitor or patrol - if you have a gate passcode you can get in - then you can wander the halls for hours without anyone to bother you. From the iron filings on the floor, someone clearly cut the screws in the hasp and then bent it out of the way. They did such a good job bending it back that I didn't notice a problem until I opened my unit and found everything inside turned upside down. Clearly a snatch and grab - they got some expensive tools. I get that they can't "fool-proof" from theft; but they can clearly do more to deter it. More cameras wouldn't be that expensive; and I'm not an anti-theft expert (just an unhappy customer now), but if you're going to advertise a sense of security, then make it real! They've lost rent from me, plus anyone else who reads this review and stays away. How much lost rent equals the price of better security? The math isn't hard to do. BTW, if you ever get broken into, the local onsite manager is powerless to do anything about it. The larger company policy controls everything, including security policy. Griping at the manager only makes them miserable and leaves you unhappy. Vote with your feet and your wallet. Since then, what I've found is there are differences between companies in how seriously they take security. I'm not writing this to shill for someone else, so I won't name them here; you really should do your own research. But I've discovered that there are real differences. I'm paying a bit more now, but I moved to another nearby storage place nearby that actually has locker door-opening sensors, more cameras, and a noticeably more watchful/attentive on-site property manager. Plus, they have a 10 foot enclosed truck (similar to what UHaul rents) that they'll loan you for free to move your stuff. Now that's real service! December 2019 Very friendly, responsive staff. Del did a nice job getting me acquainted with the process, the storage unit, and all the other details. A previous store had given away my reservation (I couldn't respond right away after reserving it online). The other store on Sheridan & 26th worked to find me another location which was Del's shop on 6th. They had a better price than the original one, and it wasn't too far away; so I was happy to take it. I'm very pleased with the process.

My post to the Better Business Bureau in hopes of a response and action by Public storage. This unit is not safe there is always broken glass and trash everywhere. Complaint Description: Theft of my personal property while my property was under the "care" of public storage. My storage unit at 680 Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado, had the roof dry wall collapse on top of all of my things. I reported the initial damage and requested a month of payment off of my rent as my personal property was covered with debris and I had to take time to clean it. I was shrugged off and dismissed. A month later, Public Storage asked for the keys to my unit to fix the damage. At this time, I was unable to give them my keys so I allowed them to cut the lock off of my unit to go in and fix the roof. This weekend, I went to pick up my keys and access my unit and my road bike had been stolen during the roof repair. Worth $1500. Customer service had no comment, I had to file a police report but Public Storage said they had security on site for repairs and they can do nothing for my loss of property. In my contract it states, "unless the loss is directly caused by our intentional or reckless conduct" In this case, I left my property in the hands of public storage and they recklessly did not protect my belongings. Your Desired Resolution: I'm seeking payment from them in the form of $2,000 for the bike and the misconduct. This case will be reviewed by a complaint specialist at the Better Business Bureau, and then forwarded to the business for their response. It is our policy to allow the business 30 working days to respond to your complaint. You will be notified when the business has responded.

They have an online app that makes gate access touchless and business with them easier

‘Kyra’ went above and beyond for me during a recent move-in, and was exceedingly polite and professional as I navigated through a mildly difficult situation with moving company personnel, especially when the movers’ manager was literally screaming at her over the phone. While I was embarrassed at that individual’s impolite demeanor, ‘Kyra’ handled everything firmly and admirably. I don’t often write reviews such as this, but ‘Kyra’ earned this glowing review, as I verbally informed her on my way out the door. Props!

I set up a reservation online but the paperwork was incorrect. I have called about 4-6 times. Left 3 voicemails, no response (mind you theses calls were over 2-3 weeks, not one day like a crazy person). I am just thankful that I don’t have any stuff in their storage facility, would be horrible if I needed help with anything else and they didn’t respond for 2+ weeks.

Kendyll was super friendly and got me set up with a parking space on site. The location itself seems a little sketchy but the price is reasonable and it has all the things you'd want from a storage space (fenced, controlled access, decent lighting).

DO NOT USE. Multiple theft attempts and then finally a theft of my Polaris RZR. The first attempt the management didn't even report it and then this time I was notified over 24 hours after the machine went missing. Cut locks and cables on the ground but Gretchen, the District Manager, has been useless and "didn't notice an issue." Jennifer has been nice and as helpful as possible which is the only reason I gave two stars instead of one.

Store associate Greg was helpful, nice, courteous and resolved my issue with the help of the DM Gretchen, who was also very informative and fast to respond back to me. All in all, great team work and good job...its refreshing to have great customer service..👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

So much trash everywhere and there were multiple homeless people inside the gates just wandering around did not feel safe getting my belongings would not recommend this public storage to anyone, there is one off 28th that is so much nicer than this I will be taking my business there

I need a storage unit in this area. Brittany helped me get what I needed, and was very nice, efficient, and possibly the most pleasant person I've ever dealt with at a storage facility. I have since rented an additional unit there. Jennifer, the manager, got me a unit right next to my first! Super convenient and again, treated me very well. I buy unit contents for a for resale. Both of these ladies made my experience over the top!

UPDATE 8/16/20. I regret to have to amend my review, but I wasn't here even 5 months when they raised the rent substantially and didn't even provide the required 30 days notice before demanding the increased rent payment. I contacted the office numerous times to inform them that I had not gotten timely notice and they needed to adjust the rent accordingly, so the increase would occur in accordance with the notice requirements in the lease (i.e. in the following month's rent). Basically, I got the run-around over the phone, totally wasting my time, claiming they would check with their manager. When I went ahead and timely paid the rent online in the original lease amount it simply left a deficit on my account of "past due" unpaid rent in the amount of the increase. After several days, with follow up calls and messages to them about the discrepancy (which they never answered or returned) I had no choice but to pay, concerned they would try to pull some kind of default lease violation on me for their premature rent hike in violation of their own lease. This is simply shady (or sloppy) treatment for any business to give a diligent, timely-paying customer. The site has plenty of storage options in a secure area conveniently located just out of downtown Denver. The pricing is the best in the area .The rental process was very easy and everything was explained in detail by the staffer I worked with, Jennifer, who was super helpful and knowledgeable. This is for the public storage on 6th and Wadsworth it does not get 5 stars they have the worst customer service I rented from them for almost two years and they made me take one of my posts tell when they almost kills me by not let me have water in a hundred degrees heat and I called an ambulance and they wouldn't even let the ambulance in cuz they didn't have the code and then make asked me to take that post down because it hurt them and I ask what kind of conversation and all I could get out was a free month storage which is $180 and I said well I'll pay the hundred and eighty and you guys can pay the $1,800 ambulance bill I received they wouldn't budge and maybe take the post down because I didn't want any trouble because I was running they're still and it was starting to turn cold so I kept the store it well this summer I wanted to downgrade and I knew y'all was riding in the golf cart when I flagged her down and asked her to help me out and she said let's take a look at your storage and when I brought her over to my storage she's like oh you're the girl and I can watch girl and she proceeded to tell me the story about the ambulance it wasn't supposed to be spoken about anymore because it hurt them well I was flabbergasted they can talk about it I can't this woman seemed to know everything that happened plus thinks that didn't even apply or were about me this upset me and I posted again and Janae the owner asked me to take it down once again and I did so last week my clock was in our behind thinking it was 8:30 I went to the storage unit and 9:30 I approached the gate and tried to code three times to no avail I thought something was wrong with the code went to my car and I was going to call the owner to see why I couldn't get in when I noticed it was 9:30 so I decided of course to leave the next morning I got a phone call with the smart little attitude woman on the other end telling me how I was at the storage after hours and I was like yeah and I had the time wrong but made a big deal just trying to take stabs well that was the last straw I went and got a U-Haul that same very day and not even 8 hours after the phone call I was out of there do not rent from the storage they are overpriced jerks and no customer service whatsoever there a little gossip community really you don't believe me go ahead and rent there you'll be sorry

I have sometimes had a less than wonderful experience at Public Storage. However, my visit today was actually outstanding. Kudos to Leslie for being helpful and understanding when I could not open the door to my storage unit because items inside had shifted and fallen against the door. She is making arrangements to get this fixed for me. So I can currently thoroughly recommend the 6th and Sheridan public storage facility in Lakewood, at least if Leslie is there.

Outdoor storage facility that is easy to access during the operational hours and your code. I always feel safe and my items are secure. Management has been helpful both times I needed support -- when first creating my account and then when I visited and had trouble remembering how to open the gate. Unit broken into multiple times. Security is irrelevant and the loitering is dangerous and concerning. Would never veee recommend someone expose themselves or their business to that environment.

They broke the cardinal rule of business - they made it overwhelmingly difficult to give them money. Have worked with many self storage units in the past and they were impossible to deal with. They wasted my time with pointless paperwork and I finally just went somewhere else.

My sister passed away in Denver so we flew in from Texas.. we moved my sis stuff in and we stayed a few minutes after closing and they called the cops.. owner show no sympathy for my sister or family..

What a disappointment this storage facility is, the customer service is non existent Susan is a witch, I just got an email giving me a move out receipt when I did not request to end my storage with them, I paid my month however according to them if your property in my case we had a vehicle parking space with them is out of its spot for more than 48 hours and you don't tell them they will vacate your spot which was paid for without any warning. I was skeptical of the manager the day I walked in to rent the spot because I could hear her speaking with another customer and she was vial, horrible attitude, she acts as if she owns the place she treats and speaks to customers with such a horrible tone and in a way that is very confrontational. If I were her boss I would really reevaluate whom you have running your facilities, we have rented storage all over the country and never and I mean NEVER have I experienced this awful treatment. I have a strong background in management my self and I would not tolerate this type of behavior for one second, I know it may be hard to find someone to fill this position but lowering your standard's will cost you good paying customer's. I am happy to say I will never rent from Public Storage again nor recommend them to anyone. Remember good news does not travel however bad news does. DON'T RENT FROM PUBLIC STORAGE
