Great storage unit, safe place

KeKe is TOP NOTCH! Every time I have a question she is so helpful and detailed. When I initially moved in the gate was experiencing a malfunction, and she came outside several times, regardless of the cold weather, to assist me and my movers with entering and exiting safely. I truly appreciate KeKe's kindness and patience.

Broken gate, broken promises. Had to manually push the gate up when it got stuck half way up trapping me inside. Second month was promised to be a dollar on a promotion. When we got the bill they said it wasn’t for that location. On month 4 the rent increased 20% without notice. The employees in the office are polite and helpful. Corporate comes from the same level of he11 that Comcast customer service comes from.

Had to move out due to theft to my property. Some tried to steal my trailer off the lot. They broke in it and stole stuff and did damage. The property manager did not care at all. She said they cameras at the gate don't work sometimes. This is not acceptable how do cameras only work sometimes. I chose this particular storage because of the cameras. This is so disappointing. Don't store stuff here..it's not safe.

Since Megan is not there no more, my unit got broke into and they called me at 11:04 am and Tiffany is very unprofessional. When Megan was there I never had a problem with my unit until now. Then Tiffany want us to keep the same unit they broke into we had to keep asking for another unit. I believe it was a in side job cause no other unit was broken into. I called the police to fill a report. Tiffany never gave me anything saying they filled a report on there end. Then she going to tell me no one broke into our unit but I have the picture to show they cut there stuff and took the lock with them

Kinda expensive on there units. I got a climate control one and it’s not even climate control. Would like my money back on the climate unit and have a regular unit.

Nightmare. Water got into our unit and ruined our brand new couch, our picture frames, and more Lady at the front desk acted like she couldn’t care less Luckily we got insurance but dealing with them so far is about as difficult as you can imagine

How much 5 by 5 size storage cost

Lisa was so very helpful. I appreciated her kindness in working through several details to accommodate my specific needs. Overall, the facilities were well kept. Vehicle storage area was a little shady near the fence, but no problems occurred. The only issue we encountered was trying to reserve a spot in advance to temporarily store a U-Haul that we were renting later in the month. The computer system requires a VIN number. Obviously, we didn't have that yet. The staff thought outside the box and let us hold the spot on our personal vehicle VIN number, then when we brought the U-Haul in, we provided the updated information. Also, keep in mind, next month's rent is due on the first, and you need to give notice IN WRITING that you will be vacating, or you are charged for the next month.

Amazing customer service! At the Summer Ave location, Lisa was just the right person to help. She was absolutely amazing! If I could give her so many more stars, I would without missing a beat!

I live nearby this storage company and they are awful neighbors. They have a group of homeless people living on their property (see photo) that make my family feel unsafe. The squatters have access to the public areas of the storage unit through a broken fence and access to their campground through my neighborhood. I have called numerous times to try and speak with the manager who is never there and "will return my call" I have even enlisted other businesses nearby who also call the manager and they have all had the same experience. UPDATE: It has been 2 months and management has not fixed the problem. We found out they even break into units and your possessions may not be safe here.

The Manager, LISA is an absolute sweetheart. Extremely kind, supportive, knowledgeable and compassionate. When coming to this location, she’s the one to talk to!!

Having to move during the current pandemic we're facing has been very frustrating, to say the least. So being able to depend on public storage to protect my things has been very helpful. However, there was a young lady that stood out to me when I visited this location today. Her name was Christina. I had been through a rough day, and she had the best attitude, which was so refreshing. Although I talked her ear off for a few minutes, she listened & provided me with positive feedback at the end. Customer service isn't just about greeting the customer when they come in; it's about making a connection with the customer as well. I feel that Christina did just that! With a beautiful attitude & spirit like that, that young lady deserves a raise! Thank you for being a listening ear, and a positive spirit Christina. It meant a lot! As long as Public Storage continues to hire individuals like this, they'll always have my business!

The service here was awful. They did not say all fees that will be provided. They quoted me one fee and when I got there it was double the amount that was quoted. Never will I recommend this place. I went to Extra Storage down the street and they gave me a quote with the extra fees, service here at Extra Storage was AWESOME!!!

I am very disappointed with Puplic Storage due to the unprofessional way my account was handled. I tried to move out on the last day of April.and pay the $78 dollar fee due, but was told if I did not move out by 6pm when the manager left, I would still be charged a whole new month and extra charges by the third day since I was planning on moving. Not only did Tiffany add new charges after being told I just wanted to come pay my last fee and move out by closing since access to units are until 9pm. She said she was giving me one hour to get my things completely out before she left. I told her I needed more time than an hour, but insisted that's all the time I would get. To add insult to injury, she continued talking about additional charges that she would add on for extra days I did not pay in May and escalated the cost. I told her that was not right and she could not price gouge as she wanted. I contacted the Corporate office in Glendale, CA 4x and no response for 4 weeks. Tiffany stated I would have to contact head office in California to speak to someone about my complaint. After waiting four weeks calling back and forth. I was told by a friend to call around to another Public Storage.These other Storage managers directed me to "Sue" an Area District Manager. Haven't heard from her either. Did call back to ask Tiffany who was her Area Supervisor, and she finally told me Jerrica and gave me her number. After all of this running around wasting time, Jerrica comes to Memphis from New Jersey to call me and tell me she's getting ready to auction my unit off with my deceased mother's items that I only have to remember her by. She tells me to come up with at least $120 dollars by the end of June 14, 2019, or my unit will be sold in the morning. I left a message with her asking her to give me more time to come up with the money since I was waiting so long for a response from Public Storage Head Quarters which I still never received. I will never do any kind of business with this company ever. Increased my price on my unit to double only after 4 months! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU AND WANT TO AVOID A LOT OF STRESS AND HEART ACHE IN THE FUTURE!!!

When I walked into the public storage on Summer avenue, I was greeted by Tiffany and Keisha. Both were professional and very accomodating, particularly after they discovered that the 1- 800 customer service line did not give me the entire cost to rent the storage space prior to me arriving at the actual location. They were both apologetic and listened to me vent my frustrations about not being informed about the additional cost that was not offered when I initially made the reservation. Long story short, Tiffany and Keisha never lost their composure and went as far as to attempt to find a storage site closer to my sister's home. Because of their great customer service , I would drive the extra miles to rent at this site again. I would also refer others.

I came in with my mom to purchase boxes on today. Keisha made me feel like family she made sure we had everything we needed and plus more. Smile & attitude was wonderful!! Will be back soon.

The gate has been broken for about 8 months but they continue to keep going up on rent.

I only needed my unit for a few weeks but the entire time and Tiffany was a great rep, like I’ve read a few of these reviews I love the fact that when she sees you on the property she stops and make sure everything is going ok, my only complaint was the gate issues but even with those she’s always kept me informed so it never felt like a huge inconvenience for me. So if you need storage in this area stop by and see them!

Pretty ghetto facility. Bathrooms never accessible even during normal daytime hours. Units expensive and unlit. Front gate or off left for misery of the last year, locked in an open position. Real secure there.

Dominique had a funky attitude all the time, she double charged my Visa card for one year unbenouce to me at the for insurance I provided my own renters insurance. I reserved a second unit that I didn't use in 24hrs were she took the whole payment for the month. The place was dirty the outer doors to the facility didn't lock at night. For a whole year I feared my things would be stolen. I never got a straight answer about my money. During the time my uncle was dying. And to have a place take my money for one year. I'm talking with a lawyer because no one will respond. Was my initial response. The district manager called me and said this person no longers work there. And she would do what she can to reverse some of the charges. I was pleased to hear back after feeling a bit irritated. Thank you Ms

We have had our storage here for about a year now, and there has been tons of new faces, However Ms Tiffany has taken over and the change and been very noticeable. It’s cleaner on on the property, the service inside has approved, what a great job she’s doing. PS has a long term customer if things keep running like this.

RATS, RATS, RATS. I have complained numerous times about rats even called the district manager and left messages and still no return phone call this is the last straw. It looks like I will be filing an insurance claim with the company about rats eating the top off my cooler. Do not use the 4408 summer ave., Memphis TN location they could care less about their renters

I came in today to rent a space and Ms. Tiffany was a great help from the time I walked in, I just had hip surgery a few days and she helped me in and out my car multiply times and made this process so much easier. If this interaction is any indication of the service Public Storage offers, I know I’ll be a long term customer.

My need for a storage came at the last minute, the first place I drove past was Public Storage, it was about 9:15 the door said they opened at 9:30. The manager came to the door and told me to come on in, I was so pleased from the moment the interaction started. Tiffany was knowledgeable and got me in a space within my budget, they had everything I need right there in the office. The unit she showed me was clean, right alone with the property, you can tell it’s well kept. If I could give her 10 stars I would. If you need help this is the place to come.

My CSA was Chanel and she did great and was very helpful and understanding. After a hard day at work and being being pregnant with four toddler boys running around she made things a little easier even helped out with the boys and made me feel comfortable

Had my storage unit get broken in to and had all of my stuff missed with. They even broke into my tool box and stole my tools. Had insurance on my unit. And they denied my clam. Even though I had a police report and that someone found a bag of tools by the property and reported it to the police. My $6000 matco tool box got damage bad by them forcing the drawers out with a pry bar. I'm so pissed.

Would give them zero stars if I could. I made reservations via the phone number provided online for a large unit on behalf of my elderly parents who are moving from out-of-state. My folks would arrive in Memphis on Saturday (today is Monday) with their household goods. After making the reservation for a large, climate controlled unit, the local manager called my mother back at her home in Florida to say that she and my father had to come in today or tomorrow to complete the necessary paperwork and look at the unit to make sure it meets their needs and to pay for the first month rent. My mother said that they could not do that because they reside out-of-state and would not be arriving in town until this weekend. My mother offered to make a payment by phone for the first month's rent. They manager told her that she could not take a payment by phone and because they could not come in and complete the documentation, she could not guarantee the reservation! My mother called me back to ask me if I would go into the business and take care of this for them. I had no problem doing so, but that's not the point, when I made the reservation, I was told that the unit would be held for them for up to seven days! That's the whole purpose of making a reservation, right? I called the corporate number back to clarify and the gentlemen I spoke to verified that the unit was indeed reserved for them. So, I called the local manager myself (her name is Audrey, I believe) who told me that that has NEVER been the policy and that she COULD NOT guarantee the unit would be available Saturday when my parents arrived. She stated that their units are first come, first serve. I called corporate again to complain and was told that they would contact the district manager. Corporate said that the policy is that when you make a reservation, it is good for seven days - period. Obviously getting the run-around, my parents said to cancel the reservation all together, which I did. We reserved a unit with Devon Self Storage in Memphis and, yes, the local manager himself did guarantee that my folks unit would be ready and waiting for them this Saturday! He even gave us a first floor, climate controlled unit for the same price! Thumbs down for Public Storage at 4409 Summer Ave! I highly recommend that if you are moving from out-of-state, DO NOT make a reservation with them! You will have no idea whether or not you have a storage facility until the day you get there!

Edgar was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and patient. I️ just have had my newly finished basement damaged by our sprinkler system erupting like a Geyser at the Main connection to our home. My home insurance company sent me here to arrange a unit for them to move any contents of basement that are salvageable here. I️ had such a horrible experience with my homeowners’ insurance rep! Calling and talking with Edgar on the phone was like night and day! He was so upbeat, listened, answered all my questions and addressed my concern about finding a unit that was in an area close to the entrance because I️ will be coming alone to access unit etc. Edgar had cleaned out the unit before my arrival and made certain I️ was able to manage the lock and door etc. He was thorough, yet brief enough that I️ was able to understand all aspects of rental and this facility in particular.... I️ feel reassured that all is safe and well here! Edgar is a credit to this Public Storage Company! Thank you for turning what started out as a horrific day into a brighter day!

I am a business owner an I'm moving from a smaller building to a bigger one. I came to this storage facility yesterday 3/1/16 just shopping around..a very helpful employee by the name of Ebonyee answered every question I asked. She also have me some really great price quotes.

I selected this storage facility because the reviews on Marilyn were fantastic, and I'm so glad I did. Upon arriving, I needed to change to a larger unit. She took care of all the changes, quickly and remained friendly even though new paperwork was necessary. It is getting more challenging to find great customer service, so I am so thankful I will have it here. The location is also convenient and kept clean. Highly recommend!

This site is great, but the employees are even better. I had a very personally emotionally charged day when moving. I was not the nicest person to deal with (I later apologized), but Chana (who is not usually at this site, but was giving Marilyn a day off) was very tolerant, kind, prompt, and efficient. She didn't make me feel badly for not being so nice. Marilyn was very good about returning phone calls and doing as promised. I used this site 10 years ago, and it is just as clean and nice as it was then. I looked at other nearby locations, and their climate control was not a very mild climate - nor convenient. This place is great. So glad they helped me out, even though I wasn't very likeable at the time! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Its easy to understand why its practically booked to capacity!

Marilyn, at the Summer Avenue is a wonderful individual! I really look to see her when I visit with payments. She is a + for this business.
