Quick and easy. Should have done this sooner.
I know for many of us, renting and moving your things into a storage unit is never fun but my experience at Public Storage has always been top notch. Units are clean and well-maintained as is the facility overall. My most recent experience was entirely online from the reservation to execution of the rental agreement. Very seamless experience. I received texts the day my rental began that outlined how to access the property and the location of my unit. The *only* piece of feedback I would offer is that I never received any instructions on getting into the unit itself. Based on prior experiences, I expected to visit the office and secure my keys. Unfortunately, the office was closed at the time of my first arrival. I left a message and got a prompt callback from Kim about an hour and a half later. She was very helpful and explained how to get into the unit (hint: rip off that blue zip tag) and where to find my keys. Thanks Kim!
Fast friendly service very helpful and friendly. Kim was very helpful.
Facilities were nice & clean. Kim was great!!!
Will who is one of the star staff at Public Storage on SW Barbur Blvd. has done an incredible job at administration, monitoring and assisting with my public storage needs. Will was there when there was an impending snow storm and he helped me with my technical issues with the storage unit access. Three cheers to will who works at the SW Barbur locations in Portland, Oregon. He diligent, a great listener and is excellent overall at helping the customer, especially to those in need.
We just checked into rent another space here. Will got us signed up and made it so easy! This will be our fourth rental at this facility. And we are extremely happy with the service and the units.
Brenden made the whole process really easy. Thanks Brenden!
Property manager brenden was a huge help today, My dad has a few different storage units in the metro area and we recently got a space at barbur, however it was to our surprise to see a face we recognized from our unit in Tigard, would highly recommend storing at this location if brenden will be here as he always makes all customers his #1 priority great customer service. Thanks again buddy
Will was super helpful and knowledgeable about the options and pricing. It made it easy to pick the right unit and get moved in same day. Security has been good from what I can tell. Would rent here again.
They nickel and dime you to death. Classic "drip" pricing where the advertised price is insanely misleading. Everything about this place feels like they are just trying to invent more ways to reach into your wallet.
Brenden was a huge help with our moving process!!!
My journey with Public Storage on SW Barbur began on a positive note online, with the allure of clean, spacious storage units conveniently located next to busy street, promising easy access and a semblance of security. The initial rental rate was competitive, and I was assured that this would remain my rate until vacating the unit. This assurance was a pivotal factor in my decision to sign up.However, my experience took a drastic turn for the worse when I received an unexpected email notification, a mere month in advance, informing me of an over 40% increase in my rental rate. This was not only shocking due to the magnitude of the increase but also because I was currently traveling, rendering me unable to vacate or address this change in person.Upon contacting the property manager for clarification, I was met with a cold and unyielding response, indicating that the new rate was non-negotiable and that it is said in the contract, increase can happen (but not 40%). Further research revealed that the rate for new customers was significantly lower than what I was being asked to pay, highlighting a predatory pricing strategy aimed at displacing long-term customers in favor of short-term, promotional-rate seekers. The interaction with both the property manager and the WeCare team agent was particularly disheartening. I was caught in a loop of deflection and run-around, with each party redirecting me to the other, offering no real solutions or empathy for my situation. This lack of accountability and customer support is alarming and speaks volumes about the company's approach to customer relations. Moreover, the initial signup process was fraught with chaos and confusion, including misleading information regarding unit location and billing practices. These issues, coupled with the recent rate hike, paint a picture of a company that prioritizes profit over people, employing unethical sales tactics without regard to the impact on loyal customers. In light of these experiences, I cannot in good conscience recommend Public Storage Company especially the one located in SW Barbur to potential customers. The deceptive practices, lack of transparency, and overall poor customer service are significant red flags. While the physical aspects of the property and the storage units themselves are commendable, they are overshadowed by the company's business ethics and customer treatment. It's a classic case of bait-and-switch, where initial promises are quickly forgotten, leaving customers feeling betrayed and undervalued. While I initially appreciated the cleanliness and spaciousness of my storage unit, the subsequent treatment and unfair practices I encountered have left me deeply disappointed. This experience serves as a reminder to carefully scrutinize the fine print and to remain vigilant against companies that exploit customer loyalty for financial gain.
Brenden was super helpful and so patient! Clean and secure facility and easy to get to
Thomas was great assisting us, and the facility is very nice and clean!
Good pricing and easy in and out. Had a semi fit in here as well. Decent amount of room and carts are easy to find.
Very easy experience getting my account set up and space rented. Very professional employees.
They were very helpful I am use to doing things in person and not online and when I finally was able to talk to Kim she did a fantastic job helping me.
Update August 2023: I would never again rent with Public Storage!! They were very candid in telling me that though I was out of the unit and paid the entire months' rent, they were going to re-rent the unit before the months end, thus receiving two people's rent for a given month. They raised our rent about every 6 months to the point that it was approaching the cost of renting an apartment. I cannot express my frustration enough with the way they do business! The staff was also very rude to us, telling us that we were only allowed to use one cart at a time and taking the second cart away, while others had four carts at that very same moment right in front of us. Do not use them, there are better places!!
We like the location and it is a nice facility. I have been a little frustrated at the large jumps in cost. I probably won't renew my lease as there are plenty of places that I can go in the area and not experience the enormous rate hikes.
Kim S. provided great customer service and was efficient getting everything set up for me. Thanks, Kim!
Overall, it is a good clean facility. Dual security code at gate and elevator so you feel your property is a little safer. In the 6 months I had a unit here I did come across homeless people day camping in the hallways on 4 different occasions.
Nice people, thorough and accommodating.
Cheap price but unreliable employees and service in general. They say the close at 6pm and I got here 2 hours before they closed and no one was there. And I never got a key for my unit and my gate code doesn’t work when I enter it, it says that I need to see a manger. But no one is answering the store number or anything. It is very frustrating. Will not be storing here again. Might be canceling my rental!!!!
Great spot for storage, feels safe and clean. Reasonable rates and staff are great as well. Peter was super helpful. He showed us around before moving in, answered all our questions and gave us all the info we needed. Would recommend 👌
Picked up my father's Ashes and family Bible that were left behind.
Raising rates yet again??? That is twice is just over a year. You guys are just terrible. At a time when housing, gas and food are incredibly expensive making life harder to afford, you decide to raise your rates. Shame on you.
Moved me into wrong unit then locked me out. No email correspondence yet they claim they contact me. Customer service doesn’t help. Continually beating locked out while staff unavailable to help during business hours. My issues were created by incompetent staff. Worst experience ever
⛔️ D O N O T E N T E R ⛔️
⚠️ MASSIVE RATE INCREASES!
Shortly after moving in ⬆️ 35%.
One year after moving in ⬆️ 28%.
In total, current rate ÷ initial rate = 1.7 Almost double after 13 months of being a customer.
They know once you move your stuff in, they got you by the balls, it's so difficult to move again that most people will continue to pay the increasing rates.
Staff refused to remove an unlawfully placed overlock & acknowledged my presence standing at the office door at 4:50pm (closes at 5pm) when she saw me through the glass. She turned her back to me, acted busy for 10 mins, clocked out and walked out back door. When I asked her what was happening she said "im off the clock, come back tomorrow"
Absolutely horrendous customer service and would NOT recommend
Barbara was very professional in helping me with a storage unit, she's very knowledgeable.
Thank you
Ernesto.
Lexi made it all so easy.
