This is my experience thus far and I just want to be transparent as I feel the website is misleading. This is for customers looking to book online.
I moved into this location after booking online. I booked for a ground floor unit. To me this meant a 1st floor. I never toured the facility and had no idea there is a cellar floor. The unit I was given was in the cellar.
When I was paying for the unit I was prompted to enroll into the insurance. (Given you can remove it on the app at a later time or get charged each month. ) I have rental insurance, the young lady in the office was kind enough to assist me with that.
The unit had a rat pellet bag inside. I confirmed that there is a rat issue with the front desk. Also, the unit is smaller than what I requested in comparison to the unit I had with their competitor. But if you read the contract carefully, it says you agree to the sizing difference anyway and there seems to be no way around it.
You will be charged for a lock at the time of signing your lease. I had a lock already. But I was able to get a refund by returning the one in the units back to the office.
I was moving in on a Saturday. It was quite busy. Parking is weird there as there are columns ever so often. There are three handcarts I believe per loading station. The elevator is smaller than I am use to. And if I’m honest, the location feels dirty. It also did not help that the door was constantly stuck if you put anything up to the corner of the unit. The doors feel flimsy.
I do not believe that I will be staying here past a month. I am terrified my property will be damaged by the mice issue. I am just not happy with this choice. I would recommend others tour the place before deciding. I wish I had done my due diligence. That’s my own fault. Just wanted to let others know of my own experience.

I want to take a moment to recognize the outstanding support I received from Mr Alec at the storage warehouse. From the moment I walked in, he demonstrated professionalism, patience, and a genuine willingness to help. He didn’t just do his job, he went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of, and that speaks volumes about his character and commitment to customer satisfaction.
If you’re in need of public storage or simply want a smooth, stress free experience, ask for Mr Alec. He has a solution oriented mindset and the kind of attitude that turns a good experience into a great one. I genuinely recommend him to anyone walking through those doors, he’s someone you can trust to help you adjust your situation with ease and confidence.
In my opinion, Mr Alec is a standout professional and a valuable representative.
My only issue is the rat infestation going on at ground level. Make sure if you book here to stay at Levels 2 and higher. A lot of my stuff has been damaged and I have to constantly clean my unit. Make sure to leave all of your stuff in a closed container. Also Aside of this I don’t have much to say. Staff keeps area clean, I don’t see much traps around or have seen anyone from pest control to eliminate this issue. Hoping they’re able to get this resolved before losing a loyal customer.

This place is beyond disgusting, my storage unit after only a month of owning it had multiple rat droppings on everything and why is the temperature so high at 90°inside the building I guess they want it to be like home

Absolutely the worst experience ever with renting a storage unit. I purchased a unit and went down to the property the next day. I was informed a pipe nursed and I would not be able to access my unit. The property manager had no idea when I would able to access the unit in future either. They allowed me to purchase a unit without informing me of this issue. I canceled the unit immediately. I called and spoke to a rep to cancel and refund me. She would not send me an email confirming this either. I had to call my credit card and stop payment. I spoke to the property manager again multiply times regarding emails for liens and money owed. I never even saw the unit or had it more than 1 day !!! Stay away!!! Horrible. I’m now at Extra space storage in Metuchen. Good so far

I reserved unit online and went to tour the unit in person I specifically asked Jay if I needed to pay for the unit as it was the last one left and was told no it was reserved. The day I was to come in I got a call stating it was no longer available. I asked to speak to the manager and was told she was the property manager and there was nothing I could do the unit was gone and if I read the fine print I would see that it wasn't guaranteed. I told her I specifically ask and was just called last night to confirm. I have already booked movers and my daughter booked a unit for herself as well so we would be in the same location. Not only did you loose 1 unit but 2. The unprofessionalism and poor manner in which I was treated is deplorable. This location needs to be retrained and should not give false info to customers.
Terrible service, I confirmed my appt yesterday and even asked if I needed to pay to hold the unit and was told that I don’t need to pay I am confirmed for my appt day. Now today I speak to them again and the unit is no longer available. Very unprofessional and caused a major inconvenience. Also asked for DM number and was told there’s no one else to speak to.

Fair prices, i just wish it was easier to get to. Very confusing, the gps kept bringing me to another entrance(that is really safer) but blocked. Make no sense, not to utilize both entraces. But I'm not the owner. And people are going to continue to get mad for missing the turn or the route difficulty.

Almost all employees speak English, which is great. Kenny is the go to for knowledge and the usual Romanian girl Melinda also knows Spanish kind of.

I made a reservation for a unit online on 10/19/22 and today went to see the unit and finish all paperwork. Everething was so smoth and I was so pleased with Iyana at the Perth Amboy facility.
