Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 8303 S Priest Dr, Tempe, AZ

With all the great reviews, I wanted to provide details of my experience so would-be customers know what they are getting into with this business. -My rental agreement listed rent as $32 per month. I was charged $39 per month. I visited the facility to have this corrected. The employee could not explain the discrepancy and he would not fix it. Even when I showed him proof, he would not fix it. -I was charged $20 for a lock. The employee took the lock. I never touched it. There is no way to correct this. I'm out $20. -Nothing is invoiced. I was charged random amounts here and there. One day I would owe $5 and the next day I owed $15. No explanation. No dates. The "Summary View" online is exactly the same as the "Detailed View". This company is not willing to provide any details of their "Rent" charges. No transparency. -Because of these issues, I cancelled my tenancy before I moved in. I never occupied the unit - my "move out" day was 4 days before my "move in" day. So far I've paid this company over $100: Rent ($39), the missing lock ($20), administrative fee ($29), more rent ($15). Before supporting this company with your business, please consider their questionable charges and practices along with their unwillingness to correct errors. Learn from my mistakes.

I’ve been with storage unit properties over many years and this is by far got the best customer service so far. I wanna give special thanks and big shout out to property manager Andy/Andrew for his help today regarding my lock that needed to get cut and replaced. My lock key got jammed and stuck and I ended up breaking it half while trying to open my lock but thanks to Andy he was able to get it replaced quickly and with very little cost. Unlike Extra space storage who would have charged an arm and a leg for the price of changing and cutting the lock. Thank you so much Andy and Public Storage team!!!

I’ve had challenges with my storage unit (no fault of Public Storage) for 7 months. I’ve talked with over a dozen people from Public Storage and though every person has been kind and respectful, I’ve been unable to get anywhere with ANYTHING!! However, once Luke got involved things have finally come to an end and has worked wonderfully. I would certainly recommend when needing to get a storage room that going to the Public Storage at 8303 S Priest and dealing with Luke would be in anyone’s best interest. A wonderful young man to deal with who makes your experience with Public Storage a 5 Star experience!!!! Thank you Luke for all you’ve done to help me!!!

Bought a storage at auction...came down and paid $416 and when they opened the unit there was NOTHING IN IT...correction 3 EMPTY clear crates...not what was in the picture (see attached). Wouldn't have been so bad if they had just handed me back my money! But now 2 days later, I still don't have my money because they claim that they "ACCIDENTALLY" gave it to someone else who supposedly happened to walk in and say her name was Melinda and so they just handed her all my money and now expect me to wait for a check in the mail!!!! Absolutely nothing they are saying even makes sense. I have left 2 msgs so far for the district manager, Joe, to call me back after my now 3 trips down to their facility, after being told I could come pick up my $ to then be told they gave it away... but so far he can't be bothered it seems. I have bought MANY units at auction and have absolutely NEVER seen ANYTHING LIKE THIS!!!!

I have been renting from this location for 2 years now. I started off with a smaller unit until my rent increases had my unit at the same price as a unit twice its size. I decided to move into a bigger unit for the same price as I was currently paying. 2 months later I get a notification they are raising my rent $54. You can call in and ask for a rate review. This doesn’t always mean you will get a reduction. The reductions are only for 1-3 months, then another rate increase will be accessed. This is a great facility for temporary storage needs. It’s not financially feasible for long term.

I've been a devoted Uhaul storage person for years but made the move when they offered a promo over Memorial Day. This location was better suited for my needs than the Uhaul location was, so I made the move and have actually been very happy and pleased..more so than at Uhaul. Danesa, the mgr, has been amazing, knows her stuff, and goes the extra mile. She's comfortable and easy to relate to. I love the location, my storeroom, and even the people I've met going in and out of their units! The only thing I would change is to add more carts. There simply is not enough and you have to sometimes wait for someone to get done before you get one and that messes your time up and for those with movers, it can increase the time and amount they will owe the movers for the time waiting for a cart. Other than that...5 stars for Danesa and this location! Thx guys!

I had come into this location to ask questions about my rent being increased. While I'm not happy about the increase, I do have to give praise to one employee in particular, Danesa. She was very helpful, kind, and professional. Made me feel like the level of customer service makes up for the corporate policies. She is the only reason I still have my unit.

I have used Public Storage for a long time and generally I have had good customer service. The biggest reason I have to give three stars instead of five is because after five months of renting with them, they raised my rate, and then they did it again near the one year mark. So now, I pay 53% more than what I did when I started. When I look at their website, they are still selling my size unit around the price I started paying. The lease allows them to change the rate with a 30-day notice, so even if I negotiate the rate down with them, they’re not obligated to honor it for more than a month. It’s too bad this practice is industry standard.

Good clean facility but my biggest gripe is no elevator access or cart access once the office closes. This makes for a very long journey up stairs and for people who have an after hours work schedule very challenging. Changing to 2 stars. After being here for well over a year I’ll be changing to a totally different company. Prices keep going up and the lift gate has been Inop for well over 6 months now. Definitely not worth the price they charge for storage here.

Overhead door been broken for more than a month now. Have to load up everything outside in the hear or elements and then enter the code everytime you go thru the small gate. Public storage has no issue taking my money every month but they can't fix an essential issue with the door.

I am currently looking for a storage, and called public storage and I have to say Danesa and Mark were great ! Answered my many questions over the phone and then i went in and they were great showing me the storage in person ! ( had to see with my own eyes) they were respectful and helpful! i will defijitly be renting there when i an ready for my storage!

I don't enjoy moving but when it comes to storage and some good online deals, public storage is pretty good. BUT I am disappointed that the turn around time to fix the garage doors for us to enter inside /ac and unload would have been nice. This is the second time renting from here so it was a let down because the first time that entrance makes it so easy. As far as the staff, they were very kind, funny and patient with me and respected my time. Mark and his company friend, sorry didn't catch the name. Were BOTH GREAT!! THEY DESERVE A RAISE!!!! Just my opinion 😉 👍🏾

I was a little confused with the code/entry access but Miranda and Curtis were patient, knowledgeable, informing, and welcoming (being that I'm from California). What a wonderful team Public Storage has paired up! I will recommend Public Storage to co-workers, family and friends. Thank you Miranda and Curtis for the pleasant experience. I looked around and it was clean.

Do not rent your unit here. Or why public storage. I’m looking into other places. They are legal criminals. So they charged me 500 for abandoning my “goods” I should have taken pictures I forgot too. But I left the place clean and organized I will not be paying you the months you were owed now because of this greed. I will take care of it with collections look at what greed got this location. Hope it was worth it and I’m glad I got my stuff out before they try to lock it up and showered. This place is very evil, so do not do business here unless you have no options. This was all in a 2 week span of missing one payment they didn’t even give me 15 days to pay my account they had locked my access the first day. So these all will tie into place and they will never see a penny more from me. My show low unit has seen almost a thousand or so and they’ll continue to see more. Good luck Public storage today is Saturday may 13 and I’ll be happy to move on with my life while you guys think you’ll be seeing more then 600 bucks from me ;) good day.

If I could give this location a negative zero I would!!! Connie is the most unprofessional manger I have ever come across arguing with customers calling them out of there names!!! It saddens me that this company has such a horrible uneducated person running one of your locations. This lady was yelling at the top of her lungs at customer and last I check the customer is always right! I work for a multi million dollar company and this would never be okayed from a staff member!! I will be on the phone with corporate on Monday to make sure this situation is taken care of. If I have to call every single day I will because she doesn’t deserve a manager position. The level of disrespect I dealt with today from this women is ridiculous and I will not sleep until something is done!!! If you are looking for a storage company this is not the place they have hidden fees that the Manager Connie don’t tell until it’s time to remove your stuff then it’s fee's on top of fee’s!!! This is the worst storage place i have ever went to , the manager Connie is rude and disrespectful she doesn’t want to do her job when it all comes down to it. My storage amount owed for payed and she didn’t want to unlock my storage and it was still time to do so because the place wasn’t closed yet . On top of that she does not know how to deal with frustrated customers she yells , becomes very irate and screams to the top of her lungs telling me she’s not answering my questions and i can look at the door to see when they open and i can get out. Ontop of that she was very rude with the way she spoke to my mother when my mother asked her what was owed because she was paying then when i said i would be reporting her to corporate she told me good luck with that and also said some disrespectful things as we walked out of the door . She doesn’t deserve to be in any manager position or even doing customer service because she doesn’t have any great customer service she failed that test when she became rude and disrespectful any other job she would have been fired she definitely needs to be held accountable for her actions i will be filing a more detailed complaint with corporate because she doesn’t deserve that job give it to someone who actually knows how to deal with customers in public.

The garage door has been out of order for some weeks now. Restrooms are always locked. Elevators work here and there.

Ok so been here storing my things almost a year . This facility is always well kept . Connie has been a STAR ⭐ she has personally helped me a few times . She found my storage keys I lost for weeks as well as calling to say my storage wasn't locked correctly. It's nice to know the people that work here are genuine and caring. Now I know it's a pain with the doors being broke . But you cannot blame them . Also now locking carts because a few bad apples ruined it for the bunch . Which is not Thier fault either. I Just like to say KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB GUYS . I do appreciate your hard work 🙌🌹

We used to love this area when it first opened. One of the reasons was that it was new and we felt our stuff would be safe, which it was. But the few things that have happened since we have been there. TV stolen, cameras, carts, gate door and elevators. We decided it was time to get our stuff out. We also would of stayed if our monthly rent didn't jump from 60 to 100 after a year being there. If we get a storage unit again it will not be at this location.

I came to the Public Storage today to get a new unit. So tired and weary, I was having trouble getting thimgs sorted out. Thank God for Connie!! She helped me walk through everything. With so much patience and professionalism. I could not have done it without her. I only wish there were more people like Connie. This world would be such a better place.

Super disappointed with this facility. We have used two other Public Storage facilities and never had issues like this one does. We only moved out of the other ones due to the proximity of this one to our home. Cameras are gone They didn’t have carts for a long time, then they got them and they chain them up and you can only use them during office hours, and you have to leave a government issued ID just to use one. I’ve never been asked to do this at any other Public Storage. The roll up gate is literally always broken. We have been here ten times in the last 2 months and only once has the roll up worked. Elevators are regularly out of service as well. Connie was polite and is the only positive about this place

There's always something broken or dirty. First the carts were stolen and not replaced for weeks, then there was a homeless couple sitting in the door holding it open with two dogs(one of which peed in the facility floor). Then the elevator had urine in it and it took them days to clean it. The elevators don't always work. The door is constantly out of order. For the prices they charge this should be the best facility in AZ.

My move-in experience could have been a total disaster (at no fault of Connie's), but she made things right. The service was outstanding. I had a 10x15 storage on the 3rd floor reserved but upon arrival, discovered the elevator was out of service. Upon discussing the situation with Connie, the person on site at the time, she moved my unit to the first floor and honored the online rate I received for my original reservation. Checking in was smooth and easy (thanks Connie!). Unfortunately someone had stolen the moving carts, and one of the automatic doors was broken. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.
