During a recent visit Angie introduced herself as the newly appointed Mgr. She greeted me with a welcoming smile and handshake. She was attentive to my concerns of increasing rental fees and the repetitive escalation of those fees.

If you rent from them be prepared to have your rates jacked up regularly! We moved in in 2021 before public storage bought them out with a rate of $100/mo for a 10x10 interior unit. We never had a price increase until public storage came in. They immediately raised our price to $140. 6 months later it was $188. I wrote a message review about the price increase. The district manager called me and asked me to remove my review and in exchange he would lower my rate back to what it was. That only lasted 3 months. Then, it was increased to $241. I got notice 6 months later that it was going up to $293. That's when I decided it would be worth it to come halfway across the country to move out! We didn't have any issues with the front desk staff or facility.

The staff is always helpful—especially Terri! My unit is full of mold. My unit that is in the middle of the climate controlled C unit is full of mold.
I’ve had a storage unit at this location for over 7yrs, from when it was still Lake Pointe Storage(which were much better owners). Since Public storage has taken over, my monthly rent now increases almost $50 every 6months and then they have added door code locks to all doors but didnt let anyone know. There’s also never anyone in the office even though office hrs are 9am -6pm and no one answers the phone when you call. But they will call you back 5 hrs later.
Oh My Gosh! I can’t believe what a sweetheart Terri is! She is so welcoming and helpful and had an ice cold water for me! Cold water in Texas is a treat lol. You can tell she loves her job and her company! Stop by and see what she has open!

Terri was great! Smiley, bubbly, and very easy to work with. I registered online in about 10 minutes! But apparently I rented a non-climate controlled unit. She fixed my mistake as soon as I showed up, and 10 minutes later I was storing stuff. Super awesome service and really well kept storage facility.
My rent was increased twice in the year I had the unit. Initially had a 10x15 climate controlled for $280ish a month. By the time I left they had increased the rent to almost $500 a month. Absolutely ridiculous. I now have the same size unit (still climate controlled) for $90, less than 2 miles down the road. Do not rent here. There are much cheaper options in the area.

I will not rent a space from this public storage lot again. You get constant calls needing information. They give conflicting information about what they need. Having anything stored here is like being picked to death by a duck. I don't recommend using them, they will be a total waste of your time.

If you’re considering using this storage facility, be forewarned: the experience may prove costly and detrimental to your possessions. Initially, they lure customers with a “$1 first-month” rate, but prices increase substantially in subsequent months. By the fifth month, I received a notification that my rate would nearly double—from $200 to $320.
More troubling than the cost, however, is the facility’s pest problem. After storing my belongings for five months, I found animal droppings on several items, indicating a significant rodent infestation. When I moved my belongings back home, my dogs killed seven rats in a single day—rats that had traveled inside my possessions from the storage unit. While I could add photos, I’ll spare you the sight, as the remains were thoroughly mangled and may be disturbing.
Despite assurances from the attendant and visible bait stations, the rodent control measures appear ineffective. My unit was directly beside the office, where one would expect more diligent upkeep, yet it clearly wasn’t enough.
Consider the implications carefully: not only are you paying high monthly fees, but your belongings are also at risk of severe damage from pests. For anyone with valued items, it’s worth reconsidering whether the cost and potential deterioration from such a facility are truly worth it. Rather than paying for the risk of depreciation, it may be wiser to find space at home where you have greater control over the condition and security of your belongings.

Chagrined with Public Storage! We have been happy customers of LakePointe Storage on FM1097 in Willis for about 6 years. Congratulations to the owners of LakePointe Storage for selling their business and "cashing in their chips!" However, the new owners Public Storage immediately told us there was a new insurance fee they were adding to the rental fee, but we could decline it. I had to go into the office to do it and couldn't do it online. Now, I just got a rate increase notice today with a 38+% rate increase!
The new staff has certainly been very friendly and professional, but the new rates are outrageously high! I just called the office and the manager told me that she could extend the current rate I have for 6 months. She also said she's received other calls. She said I could call in 6 months and it could be reviewed again then. She then told me that the rate for NEW clients was much higher than the new existing client rate I was given.
If my rate was increased, why should I have to initiate a call and get an extension of my current rate?!
If you are a client the old LakePointe Storage, newly purchased by Public Storage at 11901 FM1097 West, call them and voice your dissatisfaction with the new rate increase. You should be able to be an extension for 6 months of your current rate.

First, they locked all the water faucets. Then they locked the dumpster. Then they “decommissioned” the bathrooms. It’s just not realistic to work in a storage unit for 30 minutes and not need to use the bathroom and wash your hands. This place is not the same since public storage bought it. The billing got messed up twice and we almost lost a client due to being locked out of the complex.
