Update. Moved out of my unit on August 6th. Asked the woman at the counter since I already paid for the entire month what happenes. She told me that I would get the difference back in the form of a check or back to my card that I used. It has not been a few weeks. I called the corporate number to find out that what I was told is a lie. It's fine you don't prorate but don't lie to me. This place and company is a joke. I will never rent from them again even if I had to and there was no other option . Id rather throw my belongings in the trash. One star it way too generous. I am a current customer who is always paid up-to-date and on time. I rent a temperature controlled unit that is inside an interior building. In order to access the building it needs you to enter a code into the main door. This lock system has been down since I have arrived on Thursday 11/2 around 1 pm. A ticket to have it repaired has been filed. However today is Sunday 11/5 at 12:30pm. I still do not have access to my unit thay holds my personal property. The schlag lock that is non working dose have a key hole. However management dose not have the key to access the units. How are you in charge of peoppes belongings and do not have a key to access the building when the technology fails. Furthermore why do you use a third party company who is in charge of your locks who dose not respond within 24 hours aswell are closed on the weekend. I can not have proper access to my property with being a paid customer. But if I was to be behind on my payments they would waste no time locking me out and seezing my property. I do not recommend them they are not a responsable company nor managment.

Everytime i come to this place to have someone remove their locks off of my storage no one is ever in the office. I have been with this storage place for almost 3years now and my rent goes up so much it's crazy I'm almost paying the same as my car note for my storage and not to mention your locks get cut if your late not even a month yet just so you'll have to buy another one. Don't think your going to get by without buying a lock and just letting there lock sit on your storage because they have a 50 dollar fee now for their lock being on your storage not to mention the office hours I never get off work in time to go have their lock removed from my storage so I have to pay an extra 50 a month for the lock fee and an extra 46 for late fees I would never use this storage company again. Find some where else to store your things this place goes by their own rules oh and they make them up as they go along just to find way to take more money from your pocket even though we are all struggling to survive in this money hungry world.

Just want to give a shout out to crysta(?) At this location! Her customer service is like someone from the past, you know when customer service was actually a thing, and she went above and beyond to make my experience a good one. Thank you Crysta and keep up the good work!

This public storage is a great storage unit. Crysta the manager is very helpful, very nice and very considerate towards me and I've noticed how kind she is to other rental customers. This is all about Crysta at the Waterford location. She's an absolute gem. As a customer of Public Storage this past year I wasn't happy with the latest price hikes and have found that getting ahold of an actual person can be futile at times BUT Crysta is amazing. I went there today to grab the last items out of my unit and she was there sweeping out another unit near mine. She was friendly and immediately asked if I needed anything. Once she saw I was taking a small fishing boat out of the unit she suggested I pull in close and she offered to give me a hand loading it. I gladly accepted the assist. Her customer service was extraordinary; genuine and kind. Public Storage you have a fantastic employee in Crysta.

My 5 ⭐ are honestly only for Crysta M. The Dixie highway manger of 2745. She was so attentive to my needs and the needs of others from the time I walked in to check on my unit and size. She has help me fix my unit situation as well as helped me adjust to moving in. Crysta is very patient and empathetic. I appreciate this location that I have been renting from for years because they still have a live person to talk to and not a agent in a kiosk. I honestly think I found a new friend 😊 Crysta you rock girl💪🙌

I want to say that Krista is the best. I was confused and called about my rental and she was able to explain everything for me. Nice helpful and was able to get me a little lower of a payment. Shouts out to this public storage, I have been using them for a year now and they have always been helpful and willing to fix any issues. One thing I will say about this one is that occasionally they will not be open so it's good to call ahead before you go. This is most likely because they are short staffed but rest assured if this public storage is closed there is one that is not to far away that is open and vice versa. 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

They have lost automated checks to their address twice. Employees constantly quitting. All they want to do is charge late fees. Ever since they took this business over it is terrible. I suggest you go to some other facility.

Safety lights have been out for months. Facility Manager keeps saying corporate knows, but no word on when they'll be fixed. Not safe. This is the Waterford, Mi. location.

I moved all of my belongings out on 2/25/24 and set my move out date as 2/26/24, the next day. They sent me an email saying they would email me in 48 hours after they confirmed the space was clear, nothing more for me to do on my part. That never happened and they have been sending me notices of an unpaid bill for all of March 2024 and finally confirmed a move-out date of 3/27/24, owing $91 for the month of March. An employee from a Wixom location called me on 3/14/24 to see if I could pay and I explained all of this to her, and they still did nothing. Terrible checkout experience, glad I turned off auto-pay or they would probably try to stick me with a bill for April as well. Beware they jack up the rates every few months too. Worst company I've dealt with.

I will never rent from here again. They will constantly raise the rent and they have excessive fees.

They start w low rates then after a month or two they jacked it way up no one there half the time would never recommend this place and they have rats or mice

Rented for a few months moved out on the second of the month and I was charged for the whole month instead of prorating it. Customer service was suppose to contact me about the issue never did and I had to call back again just to be told it was rejected. I use storage units alot I will never use this company again and neither will my family! Absolutely absurd.

Mice in my unit the first month of rental. Can't get a hold of property manager during business hours. No one ever answers the phone. Office is closed with great frequency when it's scheduled to be open.

The place is clean, feels secure and they continue to upgrade . Any questions or concerns were addressed same day with Vickie or the after hours service. They do a good job communicating via text or email though you can get a live person if you are old skool like me🤭. I called yesterday and left a message got a call back in less than 5 mins. The customer service from the property manager was on point and I was satisfied. I def recommend the Dixie highway, Waterford Michigan location. Thank you Vickie👍

Vickie was absolutely awful with my wife and friends. It was obvious she was discriminatory, and prejudiced against us. If you even look the slightest bit ethnic, expect to be treated with the most disgustingly rude behavior you can imagine. She had the audacity to treat my wife (who is a very polite and well spoken person) to just rudely and abruptly say “NO” without any clarification when she tried to retrieve her items, refused to take the lock off the unit which we had paid for one week prior, and was generally unpleasant and extremely unprofessional. She even watched my wife attempt to enter our storage closet with the nastiest look on her face, as if she was getting pleasure out of her struggles. Will be letting corporate know, Vickie lost Public Storage customers (I’m sure that’s what she wanted either way). Found a way more accommodating location not even one mile away.

I just want to say that Vickie Wight, was my Public Storage Representative and she was very nice, well spoken and very helpful! Very nice customer service , much appreciated! I will tell my friends about the service and the people who represent your establishment!

Beware of this storage location . They will steal stuff out of youre unit even with the cameras in use . The cameras aren't recorded either they are MOTION detected!! The cameras are for show . Someone broke the lock off my storage unit . And the people at the desk name Vicky at the time didn't want to hand over the tapes to the cops . Which remind you they also live in the building of where the storage units are. So all the video monitors they have behind the front desk are for show only to make it look like they are monitored units . Oh also the police investigate and told me someone was trying to access my storage code 3 times! Beware of these storage units. They will steal all of your belongings out you're unit . Don't even tell the people at the front desk what you are putting into you're unit. Find another storage unit company if you have too. Your stuff come up missing they won't give you any information or tapes. Go to the police and the better business bureau.

The will raise your rent significantly! Since starting my rental of a 10x20 unit in 2020, Public Storage has increased my rent by 24% every 6-months. I had auto-pay the entire time, I never called once or complained about anything yet my rates continued to rise. When I did finally call this year to inquire about my rates, I was told that this is a "corporate office" direction and that they couldn't do anything about it. I started to call around to other local storage rental locations and found a much better deal. I paid up-front for a year and got a 10% discount (which their 10x20 unit was already lower than Public Storage). The new place units are newer, just as secure and accessible, and not run by a "corporate office" like Public Storage is. On a positive note, the people who work at this location were pleasant to deal with and the lot seemed pretty secure. No issues there at all. Bottom line - it pays to shop around and to inquire about discounts.
