I had my stuff in there storage unit for 4 months and on the 3rd month they raised our rent from 200$ to 300$ .We moved our stuff out frist thing in the morning on the frist of the month .We found that alot of our stuff was wet ,and also had mouse poop all over our stuff ,so we moved our stuff out and we get a call the next morning from the manger saying we will be charge a full months rent even know we where out on the frist 1st unbelievable, everytime we had to talk to anybody it was a new person that we didnt know every time i would not use this place .And ive ysed this place in the past but i will never come here again .

My mother has a unit at the Allen Rd location. The key broke off in the rusted lock they gave us that gives me trouble everytime I use it. Were not helpful and said it would take 2 to 3 weeks to get someone to fix it from there and to call a lock smith. Really unsatisfied.
This is one of those places that lure you in with a low price, but as soon as you're in and settled, they double the rent on you.
Mrs. Carolina is always super helpful and friendly. If we had more people like Caroline in this world it would be a better place.

I was late for my appointment but the wonderful Caroline answered my questions and took me to see the unit. She was extremely, knowledgable, kind. and friendly. I saw her again today and she was just as.friendly as the first time. She helped me add my husband as an authorized user. I made the right choice. Thank you Caroline!!
Renter beware you will be bait and switched with this company. Expect rate hikes every three months until you cant take it anymore, and then you'll get a nice bill at the end as well. Do yourself a favor and go to a locally owned non-franchise place that has the human decency to not do this to their community.
All was great for the first couple months and then they started raising the rates on me. 3 incremental rate raises in one year, the final one coming in December in the middle of the coldest time of the year. They chose December to tell me my rate for a 10x10 is now $200/month. At the very least, this practice show absolutely no compassion for the community who are the one that rent from you, and at its worst, this is criminal. This is rent gouging and it’s hard for me to see it any other way.
Luckily am a capable person and was able to stand on my principles. I moved out. But how many people are incapable of moving their entire storage unit in the middle of a polar vortex because they can’t afford the rate hike? What an utter shame. Businesses like this don’t belong in communities like ours. DO NOT RENT from this company. There are plenty of local storage unit companies that are affordable and do not raise prices on you in such a predatory manner. Shame on you Public Storage!

Mind you I still pay for a unit because I live a hour away and run a house hold of 4 kids. I have been paying the fees every month and the rate goes up every 3 months.... I pay for insurance. Rates started going up and I was forced to pay a late fee because of not having the knowledge my rent went up but Id get a email n call about when my rent was late.... nonsense. My lock was cut n was thrown inside my unit with a open box of graham crackers with the lock placed on the box of graham crackers.... I suspect fowl play here.... I drove down a couple of times to enter my unit and no one would answer the phone or door to remove their lock off of my unit so I can get clothes while living somewhere a hour away. I finally start emptying it this month. My things are filled with mouse droppings and destroyed!!!! I pay for insurance and I pay every month and my lock was cut by these guys because my master lock wasn't good for them. That unit is mine until I don't pay so why are u cutting locks n throwing food into my unit. When I moved in it was 90 degrees and had 1 other person helping me. I wasn't chilling around in the heat eating with 4 kids getting tossed out need to place our things. Wrong I trusted you guys. I need to know how to speak to the one I. Charge.
Beware! This company pulls you in by offering lower rates than the competition in the area, however beware of the fine print in your contract. They can increase your rate at any time. They do not do a fixed rental agreement. We were notified that our monthly rent was going up 50% after three months of being in the unit! Nothing short of a manipulative scam- conveniently after you just spent significant funds and time packing the unit. Think about it, when you rent an apartment, lease a car, etc the rate is usually locked in for a specified period of time. With public storage, it’s not subject to change and there is no locked in rate. When inquiring with both the office staff and the corporate representative, they responded with the same recited statements like they were trained by the company for this exact conversation. It was as if they have had it 1000 times already. The solutions they offer are essentially you can either downgrade the size of the storage unit or leave. They know you’re stuck. I really hope their business model gets exposed, I couldn’t sleep at night if I worked for this company knowing they run such an unethical scheme. There are numerous reviews of this company I have found just like this one.

Terrible experience. Upon arrival to store my motorcycle in a climate controlled environment, I was told I could not store it there. Before I rented the unit I explained what I was storing there. How can the person renting units not know the rules for storage? While I was explaining my issue, the lady at the counter called the manager who confirmed the policy. No apology, no effort to satisfy me as a customer, nothing. I said I want to cancel and be refunded, having been deceived. I was told that I would get an email in 24-48 hours. I am extremely disappointed.

Actually no stars. I been with these guys for over a year! Lost 1 over storage because it went up $25 and had no idea until they hit me with a late fee over the $25. Now I live a hour away and every single time I have went out there to get my things no one is in the office to take the lock off of my storage. I put my own lock on my storage and they took it off saying it's not a approved lock I cm strongly believe these people working is taking my belongings and locking it up with their locks. When I got the storage I was promised a real good prive now they have jacked the price 3 times on me for no reason. I can't even clean the storage out n go else where if I wanted to because no one is ever in the office. I've sat for hours waiting and no one ever came to let me in the office. I'm so mad. Don't go here they're scammers!

I think this Public Storage is one of the worst around!!!They put unremovable locks on peoples unit,they know nothing about it being done,absolutely NO communication within their office.They keep on raising the rate not a couple dollars but $40 or $50.I will NEVER deal with them.I was very happy with one of their competitors SROA🙂No one is ever in the Office.Very,very POOR customer service.A friend of mine has been locked out for 5 days already,waiting for them to cut the lock off that they put on and no one knows about it.If you stay one extra day they will charge you for the whole month.SAD

Edit: I made this review originally after my first experience. After renting there for nearly 2 years I can honestly say go somewhere else. Anytime you call the number you get routed to a hotline, there is constantly trash and debris left around, for the better part of a year they made you check out the “complimentary rolling carts”, and god forbid the clock strikes 9:00 PM when you are going back in to lock your storage unit you’ll be locked out and need to come back at 6:00 am. If you call the after hours number you’ll get the wrong number for the location manager. This place is a mess and overpriced for the lack of long term customer service.

I've rented two different storage units from here and never had any issues. Move in was fast and moving out was really convient on the App. I rated 3 stars because after 6 months they raise your rent significantly.

There is only 1 employee that deserves 5 Stars and that is Dawn. For an entire day I attempted to obtain my gate code to learn it was never generated. I went to the facility 3 times, called probably 2 dozen times and Dawn was the only one that resolved my issue in a matter of minutes. She is a credit to your Company, highly professional and quite pleasant. Thank you for addressing this terrible situation for me, Dawn. She resolved my nightmare......

Tanisha was very helpful with my unit. Yesterday she was going on lunch but waited to show me my unit. Very professional and a clean facility . I would recommend using them.
I left Public Storage due to a latch issue on my unit preventing the lock from engaging.
Unfortunately, their maintenance crew was unable to fix situation after a month and they couldn't promise reimbursement for me to hire helpers to move my heavier items to another unit.
However, the office was not at fault and tried their best to resolve the scenario. I was worried I would be charged for an extra month but their branch manager waived the charges.
Ultimately, not a bad place to store your items if you are responsible about making payments on time. I recommend new customers thoroughly test the lock before completing their purchase.

This was my first time renting a storage unit and even though I could complete the process online, I decided to finish my paperwork in person to get a feel for the facility. I am glad I did. Dawn guided me through the process without a hassle, showed me the storage unit I had chosen to ensure it would accommodate my needs, and was so friendly and helpful! Tanisha was also working that day and I overheard her helping a customer whose unit wasn't even at this specific facility. They were wonderful and I feel at ease knowing, if I have any issues, I'll be dealing with incredibly caring and lovely people.

This facility has been a nightmare. We are trying to move out of our home and can no longer access the heated storage unit. There has been no power to the unit for a week. The property manager Dawn does not answer the phone. We've wasted several trips to the unit now unable to unload.
We are getting no help from corpoeate either. They just transfer us to the property manager who doesnt answer phone or return calls timely. We have no idea if this issue will get corrected and are running out of time to get moved out of our home that has sold.
Dawn was absolutely wonderful! This is my first time renting a storage unit and Dawn made the process easy and painless. I trust that my belongings will be safe at this location. Dawn went over the protocols and procedures they take to check units each night. I appreciate Dawn's time and attention to detail. I love that their climate controlled building is fairly new as well. It's been a absolute pleasure to store here Keyco has been wonderful and very helpful in helping me and my husband who also is handicapped helped us move the heavy things in unit she didn't have to there's a god keep doing what u do we appreciate u.
Customer Service was A-1 been storing for years here and with all the work I see need to be dome Keyco and Dawn gets the job done these girls are on top of the game.

Key was an amazing help for me today at public storage in trenton, MI! I was running so behind trying to move n pack it was 5:45pm and she still let me get not 1 but 2 carts to move my things to my unit and stayed 20 mins over to make sure I could get all my stuff unloaded. She was a huge help and so nice and kind I will definitely be recommending this place to all my friends and family! Not to mention it's extremely affordable and clean and secure!

They need to fix the exit code stand from the climate controlled units. The app didn't work either.

I had been a tenant here for over 3 years and the previous management team was fine, and I had not realized how important a great management and team could be. Keyco and Dawn made sure that everything was clear and taken care of from the moment they stepped on site and until I moved out this week. They saved me money in the end and saved me stress and made moving easier. Hard to explain how helpful and friendly they are but go find out yourself!
Excellent service with a manager that is more than willing to go that extra mile to help you. The units are clean, the area secure and most of all the ease of access let's me reliably come and go with confidence. My only complaint is that I didn't come here sooner!

If I could give 0 I would I booked a storage with them for 8 days and was charged for anything they could think of I initially got a email stating an admin fee which I said ok 30 dollars and 1st month rent 1 dollar I left almost paying 100 bucks and when I called the lady had no idea why I was charged so much that she would call me back I called her back and asked for the manager to call me she then continued to make up charges that the receipt definitely didn’t verify all I seen was I was being charged for my second month when I was there 8 days and out before the first then she said it was a move out fee as well wow

My experience at this public storage location in Trenton Michigan was exceptional with the representative Keyco especially because she was by herself and took care of me with out getting sidetracked or frustrated and I think it is unfair she was by herself but she still excelled..
I did have an issue with the Allen Rd location, however, the district manager contacted me and was more than happy so speak with me about what went wrong and then resolved the issue for me. Unfortunately I do not remember his name but he was very kind and was very willing to help me.
Would like to update my comment about the service recieved. Everything was rectified with awesome results. Thank you so much Wayne you are the best. Just a hiccup in communication, but everyones very professional and polite. Thumbs up to Public Storage.
