I used to be a satisfied customer. i maintained 3 units here for years. The price kept creeping up but it was still OK. Then they deleted access to the restroom facility. I discussed this with them but they would not reverse their decision even though the restroom is still there. i just moved to a facility that has restrooms, is closer, at least as nice, and half the price.
Highly highly recommend this place ! John is so friendly and helpful. Getting my unit was quick and painless , unit was perfect. Would definitely be back!!!
Great experience using Public Storage on Lapeer Rd for past 4 months!! We were done with our move yesterday and Ron at Public Storage was tremendous in helping us wrap up our use of the unit and close out our rental. Thanks so much!!

This company is trash. Sign up at your own risk! It’s sad how they robbed that couple of the only belongs they had to their name! Also everything is automated, they do not employ onsite staff but a property manager to make sure people stuff is thrown out… This is just the beginning of corporate greed 🤦♂️

Have had great experience with the staff at the storage and the agents on the call. The storage is clean and nicely kept.
Recently rented a unit. Had some technical bugs but thankfully Ron was there to help me. He was extremely kind, and resolved my issue with tact and professional attitude, something you do not find these days.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Public Storage? More like Public Scammers. They love to jack up their rates, and I’m not talking about a couple of bucks (that would be understandable), I’m talking about hundreds of dollars. I was originally paying $117 for a 10x20 unit and over the course of 2 years it is now $315!!!!!! Oh, did I mention that they are currently advertising the same unit for $126. They don’t have anyone there to speak to, just a self serve kiosk in the lobby, it’s impossible to get anyone on the phone to speak with, and if you are lucky enough to speak to a live person you’ll hear something to the effect of “nothing I can do”. DO NOT RENT FROM PUBLIC SCAMMERS!!!!!
Be very careful signing up online. Perhaps I should have been more diligent when signing up, but I was unaware that this Auburn Hills site was self-service. Had no idea what that meant when signing up. I set my move in day for a Sunday. When I had a chance to actually see the unit (on a Sunday), it was filthy. Not swept out, damp, weather stripping coming off, door barely opened without a lot of effort (my wife was not able to lift it), rat poison pouches on the floor. Needless to say, I do not want to store my belongings in this unit. I tried calling the customer service number to cancel my reservation. I was forwarded to the site manager, but being Sunday, they were closed. I left a message. No return call Monday morning. Called again monday 11am approx. had to leave another message. No return call again. I was very detailed in my message why this unit was unacceptable and that I wanted to cancel the reservation. Finally decided to drive to the location and walked into the office and had to video chat with a live support rep. I was told they only offer refund on same day vacate cancellations. I mentioned that I tried contacting someone but they were closed. He told me I should have approached this kiosk for assistance. How was I to know that? Basically, they got me for $127 and "may" only refund the lock that they forced me to purchase (with the caveat that I can drive 20 miles to another location to return the lock). Since I did not cancel on the move-in day, I have no options and they get to keep my money even though I tried to cancel but they were closed on Sunday, my move-in day. Please beware of paying for anything site unseen and if you do decide to rent from them, don't have your move in day a Sunday in case something goes wrong. I lost over $100 because I could not reach anyone over the phone and had no idea I needed to walk into a little vestibule and talk to someone through a kiosk screen. Stay away from this place as the maintenance is horrible, it's filthy, the driveways are falling apart as well as the units (See photos) and the whole self-service thing is awful.
We have been happy with our locker. Everything was waiting for us when we got there!!
The whole kiosk idea sucks to hard to get help and information when needed this place has the lives and memories of people customer service should be paramount ..
3 rate hikes in 15 months. Absolutely ridiculous. Who cares about customer service when integrity is fluid.
Find another place, sign a year contract.
Marisa was the best she is very nice.
Marissa is the site manager here, and she’s provided me exceptional service since I’ve been a customer. She’s always very polite, and very helpful. Not to mention I was late on my payments, and she was able to work with me so that I don’t lose out on my storage unit. Units are clean and temperature controlled. Very pleasant experience. I recommend!

I’m in the process of moving and needed a space to hold my things under I got my place. Marisa was very patient with me and understanding of the time frame I needed and gave me all the information I needed for the space. She showed me spaces and we picked the right space to hold my things. She was very kind and sweet, I highly recommend this public storage to go too!

Upon arriving on a super-frigid Saturday in early February, the bay door was frozen solid to the ground. The staff member was actually on her way out (the office was closed) and I ran over to her car as she was warming it up. She immediately went and got a shovel and followed us to the unit. When that wasn't working, she went back and got ice melt/salt. We got in!! Excellent service. Great attitude.
Visiting this facility I met Marisa who was very knowledgeable of her job. She polite always smiling through her mask and so very helpful. Please give her a raise in her pay. Thank you
