I utilize the services of Public Storage for my storage needs, and while the facility itself seems clean and well-maintained, the customer service provided by their workers is absolutely abysmal. From the moment I stepped foot into the facility, I was met with rude and unprofessional behavior from the employees. They were unhelpful, dismissive, and downright disrespectful. It is clear that they have no interest in providing quality customer service and seem more interested in simply going through the motions. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of care and respect shown by the workers at This Public Storage. In conclusion, while the facility itself may be clean, the poor customer service provided by the workers at this location will leave a sour taste in your mouth. I would not recommend this company to anyone based on my negative experience.

I have rented the same storage unit for 13 years. Finally came back to Chicago to clear it out. Very stressful. Shonda (not sure how she spells her name) in the rental office could not have been more sweet or helpful. Had a good time chatting and laughing with her. Definitely helped ease the anxiety.

The property manager is unprofessional and disrespectful. Both yesterday and today I was set to have an appointment to view a unit for my property. I arrived early yesterday and on time today. Both times I waited for twenty minutes and no one came to the door nor responded to my calls while I was there. Yesterday, after I departed but called back and the property manager answered, and did not acknowledge the fact that she set the appointment nor apologize for her inconvenience. She instead stated are you going to come back or not. Then today stated she was going to her lunch break and to arrive at 2pm. I’m pretty sure this is not the first time this has been done to other people. It’s not okay to run a business. Get it together and take accountability. Thankfully I found another company altogether to support my immediate needs in such short notice.

The staff Terry and Stephanie were very professional, very friendly and very understanding and helpful in meeting my needs. The location is clean and very secure with cameras everywhere so as a single woman I feel pretty safe being there by myself. Edit- On January 27th at 8:17pm, a fellow customer arrived and we had a conversation while he was waiting at the gate. He mentioned that he had experienced a similar situation the night before, on January 26th, where the gate was broken and there were no employees present. He did not honk his horn when he arrived. I plan to revisit the location at a later time to follow up on this matter and update my review accordingly. Edit- Jan 27th arrive at 7:30pm- give up and leave at 8:15pm I’m waiting outside again in the fog, rain, and cold Chicago air. The gate doesn’t work, no one is in the office, and no one returns calls, so I can’t drop off my car full of belongings. How can I access my storage unit? There’s a car here of the employee working, yet not a sole in sight. The same gray car is parked in front, but I assume whoever is inside back in whatever office isn’t willing to come to the front door. You with the gray SUV, can I please get a little help? I’ll bring you tea and cookies, buddy. Please help me out. Text me when you’re ready to open the door. I promise I won’t sit outside for 20 minutes, honking my horn and knocking on the door again. Just come to the door. I think the facility is lovely, and always clean, and the staff is always helpful. Over the past couple of years, the prices doubled, and today, Monday, January 22nd, I went at 8:15; the facility closes at 9, so I went to the broken gate. Then I went to the office that was locked. Then I sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes with a car full of storage stuff, and no one appeared to be working. Please fix the gate.
