This facility is on a main road with wide east turns to access. There are indoor climate controlled storage units with built-in locks ready to use. Access inside is restricted by a long passcode, and the passcode only opens your floor for the elevator keeping things very safe. Inside the facility is very clean and well maintained, aside from recent damage obviously caused by careless customers. Its in a commercial area with other shopping and restaurants, so you can run errands before or after the trip to storage. Definitely a go-to for storage needs in the Pearl City area.

We are currently renting a unit from the Public Storage in Pearl City. It’s tucked away off Kam Hwy, across from Walmart. Access is easy, no busy Highway with transients nearby, well lit, secure and staff is always onsite during business hours to assist. Parking is easy, and there are always carts available to haul your items to and from your unit. What I like about this facility is that the staff are so very helpful. I ran in to some issues with the rent increasing. I understand that with the economy and inflation, this happens. But there are times when the increases puts the customer in a position where they can’t afford it and may have to look elsewhere. Public Storage appreciates my business, knows it’s long term and wants to help me so we can maintain our partnership. Michelle & Martha at PS, have both gone above and beyond to help me figure what the best plan is for me. Even if it doesn’t work out (I will post update later) Their service is worth noting and recognizing. I highly recommend this facility for storage, it’s safe, clean and staffed with some pretty exceptional people.

Michelle was able to assist us with following up with an issue with the entire contents of my storage unit. She was very professional, pleasant, and very helpful. I hope the issue will be correctly resolved as it had to be escalated.

Best thing is the climate controlled environment which helps to protect and prevent degradation of the items we’ve stored over the years. A well-deserved 5-Star rating!!!

Lou from Public Storage on Kuala Street was amazing to work with. He was professional and patient as he helped us figure out the size of unit we needed for our belongings. We were there for a good forty-five minutes as he toured the different units with us. Not once did he make us feel like we were being troublesome or that we were asking too many questions. We strongly recommend Lou from Public Storage to help you with all of your storage needs!

The late fee charge and late fee tax is just ridiculous charge. I get the late fee charge but to tack on a late fee tax, I was mostly shocked by that. The elevator isn't working and that doesn't help with elderly customers and people who have health issues to go up those stairs. Hopefully they get to fix that soon and this happened during the rain in the end of December 2021 and beginning of January 2022. I can say that the storage unit is clean though, no musty smells and the controlled temperatures is good enough. Cash, credit/debit acceptable payments. Hey, watch out for those fees if you pay your bill late. Yikes.

Public storage pearl city is an awesome place because of people like Martha! My family and I were looking for last minute storage and she was able to not only meet our needs but went beyond customer service to ensure we felt welcome. Parked my work vans here less then A month the catalytic converter. Gets stolen The fence to the park has multiple holes in it alot of homeless chronics live in the park. They dont have no security. After 6pm no one physically on property. 1 security canera. Pathetic.

The other places were unavail and full, but when I came here at the Pearl city location, Martha helped me find exactly what I was looking for! She recommended for an antique car go with the more secure large drive in type unit, otherwise it’ll be outside parking spaces that were gated and not as secure. Location 25771. 1200 Kuala Street Public Storage was a great experience for Me. I had Just went through a Hardship with both My Parents passing away. The Latest being my Mother. From my First Experience What had struck me from the Service and with Amazement was the Kindness and Careful Understanding without being too Enquirying. Ms. Martha had the Common Courtesy to Help Me make a Payment being That My Normal Unit would have been at Kapiolani. The Second Time experience is when my Mother had Passed Away. And, I wanted to move some of my items from my Parents House into a Smaller Unit. Ms. Marha had took her Time to Help Me find the Right Size Unit & gave Me Her -Best available Options. She also, took the Time to show Me the Unit and the mechanics of the Unique Silver Cylinder Lock that is Exclusive to the Pearl City's Unit. I Told Her My Main Reasons, Why, I needed time. Personal Time. So I can sort out through all My Childhood Sentimental Value on My own Time. In Short, I could have Gone to the Nearest Public Storage Location near where My Parents are Burried -Mililani Memorial Mortarury -but, I told Ms. Martha that it was Of Her Excellent Service in Detail that made My Decision Clear. From the minute I called this facility and asked questions, and figured out how to book a storage unit online, I found each person I dealt with to be super helpful and friendly. As the hour approached for our arrival with our moving truck, I kept in touch with Martha, a wonderfully kind customer service agent -- we were running late and feeling frantic, but she was understanding on the phone as we made our way to the facility. Once we got there, we had 2.5 hours to empty a 20' truck, and she kindly and gently reminded us that we would not be able to do anything past 6pm. Even as the clock ticked away, she was calm with us while we were hurriedly moving everything. We will never forget how sweet she was and if I could leave 200 stars for her service I would. Mahalo, Martha!!!!

I was having problems removing my lock from my storage unit. I called the front desk and was helped by Karly. She was polite and told me she would be right there as soon as she was finished with a customer. She was able to open my lock and made sure the lock would open on my next visit. Thank you Karly.

I've been storing at this location off and on since 2010, way back when it was The Lock Up. I lived at Pearl Harbor at the time and it was a good choice for storing because it wasn't far way from where I was living and the units were well priced. I live in town now: but still store here. Hands down better prices than in town and super friendly staff. This time around Melanie helped me out, with swapping from a larger to a smaller unit. She was friendly and informational. If you need to store your stuff, don't sleep on checking out this location!

We went with this place because they have better security than the other storage places that got robbed over the past few months. We got there and not too long after us, two more people showed up. There was only one person manning the desk so we thought, “Oh great we’re going to be late to pick up the U-haul.” We were wrong. Martha helped all 3 of us simultaneously. No lie. She went back and forth between two computers to get us our spaces and gave the 3rd guy in line the cart for his ID. She did all this with some humor to lighten up our morning. This lady needs a raise. We were in and out and made it in time to pick up our truck. Service is a lot faster here than the last storage place we went to even though that place would have two people behind the desk.

Great experience with this facility so far. It is very clean and well ran. Alex was extremely helpful when I came in to get price quotes for a unit and let me know about the reservation system in case I wanted to hold a specific size. Hoku was efficient and friendly getting me setup once I was ready to move my things in. I went into Public Storage today in a bad mood. There were some issues I had to straighten out at Public Storage and Alex had to be the unfortunate person to listen to me. FIRST UNIT (March 2016): So far, so good. Facility is clean and security of their gate system is good, requiring individual pin access to even get in the building through the "gate" (area with access to the elevators) as well as to access any of the higher floors via the elevators. Maggie was great in helping me get set up in my new unit and let me know that I could always downsize, if I needed to, at any point. Video monitoring of the parking lot is present, although I wasn't able to see the interior building's monitoring screens. Other places may be less expensive, but I feel comfortable having my stored belongings here (after having a bad experience at another company's unit in another state). I've accessed this unit after work and after the business hours for the front office at this facility without a problem. The lobby area is well-lit as is the off-load/on-load area in front of this lobby area (I didn't access the side lobby area at that hour, but suspected similarly lit areas). SECOND UNIT (May 2016): I'm already a client at this location and Sylvia M helped set me up with my second unit (to be moved into from my first unit). She was very courteous and understanding in my request to not purchase an additional lock (which is apparently a standard add-on with any new unit, unless you specify not to have this and have your own lock to use). I also learned that each new unit comes with its own gate code which would work at either of the two elevators/lobbies at this location. It comes in handy if you have multiple units and have others entering the property on your behalf - you can restrict their access to what floor you want them to enter on and which unit is logged into the system when they enter. This new unit is on the upper floors and the facility has automatic lighting (motion-controlled) along its interior corridors as well as moving carts available on site. I like the facility well enough and there is apparently a bathroom on site, but you'll need to get a key from the folks in the main office. The access hours are more convenient than the other storage facilities I looked at, so I came right back here for my replacement unit.

I love this Public Storage located on Kuala St. The building is kept clean and well lit so I feel safe upstairs when I go alone. The staff in the office are always friendly and available to answer all my questions. Quality packing supplies, ample parking, and conveniently located next to all my favorite stores. I 100% recommend this to all my friend and family looking for storage. Thanks to the best team around Kaila, Anu and Mark. You guys are awesome.

I got a good deal to start off online with one of their storage units. But after the first six months they increase their prices. I called to ask why and there is no rhyme or reason to it and the increase could be for any amount. I had two units here at different times and both prices went up after six months. One increase was $20 and the other was around $30. There was no increase in service, just increase in price. I have also noticed how dirty the facility is. They do not clean it at all. The carpets had the same stains and dirt spots for the 10 months we had a unit there. In the back elevator, there are dead large roaches in the light that have been there decomposing for the 10 months we rented a unit there. Also, do not buy their locks. Bring your own. I didn't realize I was purchasing their locks at move in although I was aware I was paying a fee for it. But opt to bring your own instead because their locks don't fit any other lock in the world. Once you move out you will be stuck with a lock that is useless unless you intend to get another unit there in the future. I originally got a unit here because it was away from the Kam Hwy. traffic but now with the rail it could take you a long time to get there with the traffic on Kuala St. It took me 15 minutes to get there from Waimano Home Road. But, they do have good service there. Kaila and Anu are great and really the only things good about this place. Oh, and it's hot. If you go there to access your storage unit, you will sweat if you need to move any boxes or things. With minimal movement you may avoid sweating. Other storage companies have better policies, cleaner facilities, and cooler facilities. Go somewhere else.

I've visited other Public Storage locations but I must say this one is my favorite. Anu and Kaila are the best! We were only there to pick up boxes but the level of service my family and I received was outstanding. Two Thumbs Up. I don't need a rental storage now but when I do (which will be soon), I'm definitely coming back here. I normally don't do online reviews but was compelled to do so in this case. If you ever need a rental storage unit or JUST BOXES, just ask for Anu or Kaila. They're very knowledgeable and super helpful.

Being that I work in retail, customer service is one of the key points in sales. People that feel more comfortable because of the way an employee had came off to them with the way they helped them are more likely to purchase something... With that being said Anu, Kaila, and mark really surprised me with how they made my first time at the public storage a enjoyable one. They are ready to answer any questions that I may have to get the most out of renting here. Its one thing that I don't have to stress about dealing with because their team is extremely good.

In addition, when we received a call to set our appointment to visit the unit prior to choosing it as our rental, Anu called my fiance and he mentioned how very nice she was when listening to his concerns about the safety of the items we will be storing. When both my fiance and I arrived at the storage facility, we were kindly greeted by a sales associate named Kaila and was taken to the storage for viewing where we met Anu who had just finished cleaning and prepping our future unit. This is the fastest service I have had the pleasure of experiencing. She invited me to the facility in Pearl City to come and see the location and the actual units available. About 3 hours later, I stopped by and was greeted with a friendly voice with a person smiling cheek to cheek. Very personable and professional. Went to look for a storage unit today and was greeted by Anu she helped me to make up my mind on why I should pick Public Storage for my storage needs. I ended up signing up that same day.

I have been a customer of this facility even before public storage purchased it. I was a former renter from public storage and was not pleased by the customer service I had recieved in the past. When they bought the facility I was worried but the transition was surprizingly smooth. Then I met the manager and some of the staff. I was pleasantly surprized to find out that they were very friendly and accomodated all my needs. The manager Carli and employee kaila do a great job running the office and keeping the facility clean and safe. I now have recommended public storage to many friends and co-workers all of which have thanked me. Great job Carli and Kaila, keep up the good work!!!!!

I have been a long time customer here! I have had the best experience here at the Kuala location... The property manager Carly is a lot of help and very friendly. All of the workers there help each other and have a good working Environment. Kaila help load my car with the boxes I got while I finished up my Purchase. As first time users of a storage facility, we were extremely impressed with the service and support provided by the Public Storage staff. Everyone was very helpful and explained every aspect of the rental. We would especially like to thank both Carly and Carol for their patience and comprehensive explanations to us newbies. Quick and easy. Made an online reservation, got a call the next morning and locked it in that afternoon. The unit was large and clean (carpeted). In fact, it was much larger than other units at competing storage companies for the same price. There was an i-beam for the building's superstructure protruding through the rear wall, but that didn't take away much from the overall volume of the unit. The door to the unit has a lock but you can add up to two of your own padlocks to it (highly recommended). The price was very reasonable for it's size, the cheapest I found that was climate controlled. Keep in mind that the price is just for the unit, there are some one time admin fees, plus monthly mandatory insurance and taxes. That's how it is with any storage site. But aside for a little bump on your initial month's rent, the following months prices are pretty close. If you need boxes, they got all types and sizes in their office. There were several specials. One was buy 35 and get 15 free. Cheaper than going to an office supply store. Still, not as good as getting them free from a supermarket. Hand carts are available, too. The staff was helpful and friendly. No high pressure/guilt sales like some other places. They were very straight forward and got me signed up fast. Thank you, Anu! Some minor knocks... 1. The air conditioning isn't the coldest, it's probably somewhere between 75-78 at noon. Still, it's way better than non a/c facilities where the temp can soar to over 100 degrees plus humidity. 2. While in your unit or in the hallways, you may not get much 4G reception for your phone, I barely got a bar. There's also no WiFi. 3. There's only one elevator. So if it's busy and one of your neighbors has a lot to load, it may take a while. Then again, there's only 3 floors of units, so it's not that bad. 4. Unlike their other location about 3 blocks away on Kamehameha Ave, parking is very tight. On the weekends it's pretty crazy. But on the weekdays, it's supposed to be much slower. Still, you aren't going to find many more stalls at other storage facilities. So, if you weigh the pros versus cons, you may find that this place offers the biggest bang for the buck. Oh and one more thing. Because this storage facility is in a newly developed commercial zone adjacent to an established residential zone, there aren't any homeless and weirdos nearby like most other facilities.

So far ok. I had the same size unit at my other Public Storage located at 989 Kamehameha Hwy, Pearl City, HI. I moved from there for one, I got a drive up unit at the Kuala street location, for less then it cost me for an indoor unit at the Kam hwy location. Each unit they claim is armed, but I do know they have cameras on the interior also and not just watching the main entrance. I am not real happy about the interior bars, that begin about 8' up. It does not look real secure and would probably be easy to remove, however, they open out to another unit, so if entry was made that way, you at least know the culprits would be one of your three neighboring units. I do plan to add my own wire mesh to the top and alarm my unit though, when that is done I'll breath easier. I got major ripped off at my last unit and lost $10,000 worth of property.
