I worked with Brian who worked around my busy schedule to get me a unit for a last minute move out. He was kind, professional and super informative. He answered all my questions and even helped me out the first day I moved getting a few things taken care of. Highly recommend this place, it is also clean and very secure.

I was in need of some extra space and Brian at Public Storage certainly made sure I not only received the right size unit , but Brian made me feel comfortable making the right decision.

The worst storage facility I have ever used. Please read until the end, it gets better as you continue! Let’s start with the parking lot. It’s one way in one way out, Nevermind the fact that big trucks need to come in and out. My car was scratched all down the side from someone’s dolly. Even my movers said it was the most inconvenient parking lot they dealt with. Not to mention the gate and the ridiculous curfew hours. Mind you when I first moved my things into this storage unit there was no outside gate nor crazy curfew hours. Okay let’s talk about the elevators. Usually one is broken, they’re extremely “dumb” elevators. Maybe bc they’re cheap idk, but the doors shut on you in about 3-5 seconds and again, not sure why this is a thing when this is a storage unit people are moving their things in and out all day, why the elevator doors shut so quickly is beyond me. But don’t hold them open bc the elevator will shut down on you. And when I say “dumb” it’s bc, say you’re moving stuff out from the 3rd floor, you choose floor 1 to go down, nope someone on the 5th floor has requested the elevator so now that you and all your things are on the elevator you’re now going all the way up to the 5th floor just for the doors to open and obviously nothing and no one else is going to fit on the elevator so now finally you’ll head down to the 1st floor. Extremely frustrating and huge waste of time. Again, very rarely are both elevators working. Also don’t get a good early head start on your move bc remember there’s a curfew and that goes for the morning too. Inconvenience here is 1000%. Okay let’s get to my move out, per norm only one elevator was working, hired movers for 3 hours, should still have plenty of time! We load up the elevator go to first floor unload, get back on elevator doors shut, elevator doesn’t move, elevator also doesn’t open to let us out. My young son, myself and an extremely out of shape mover stuck inside. I call my Mother who is there helping us to tell the manager that we are stuck on the elevator, I hear the manager say there’s nothing she can do, yes we hit the call button inside the elevator but low and behold the service is so bad we cannot make out what the lady is saying and she cannot hear us either. How did we get out of the elevator? Well a nice lady pries the door open from the outside like baby hulk, “it happens all the time” she says, thank goodness she was there bc the manager would have left us right there! Since then they have added a key system for the manager to override it now. Hmm Clever! So after we are freed the elevator is out of commission, so that means no elevators work now! And I have an entire storage unit to move out on the 3rd floor! Remember my out of shape mover that was stuck on the elevator with us, he wasn’t very happy. Neither was I bc who signs up for a labor job that can’t do labor, oh well thankfully I workout for a living so now I’m running up and down three flights of steps trying to make this 3 hour window (thankfully other guy was in decent shape) $600 down the drain. I do Want to say the manager that is there now, is much nicer, sweet underpaid lady. Also customer service at the main office is horrible and no help at all. Also your rent will go up within 6mo!

BEWARE!!! This place is crazy they’re never there and you can’t get ahold of them unless you owe your storage payment and they love to lock you out of your unit and threaten to auction it. I would have to say there has been nothing pleasant about the whole experience and once I’m outta there NEVER AGAIN!!!

We had rats infest the entire unit and a lot of our belongings were completely ruined and damaged.

The worst storage experience. I was late on a payment which I paid off. Days after my payment was received, there was a lock still on my storage unit. I then came back the next day and still a lock on my unit. I’ve had better experiences elsewhere. The hours of operation shows from 9am-6pm. It’s is currently 5pm and there is no one in the office. Terrible experience. Never again

PLEASE BEWARE! After a single year of renting one unit, the monthly price has increased by 70% from $370/mo to $690/mo. It's a constant battle...every few months, they raise our rent by ~30%! After they notified us of ANOTHER 30% price increase, I requested to have our rent price not be raised and be lowered back to the current price, and they REFUSED. I even offered to pay in advance, but the fine print allows for unlimited monthly changes in price which is NOT calculated based on anything but their perogative! This is a scam as prices have risen far beyond the market. Find another storage unit company!!

I just wanted to take a couple mins to recognize the manager Jennifer at this location. She had gone above and beyond to go out of hey way to help me more than once. She is a huge asset to this company. She is all around just helpful, compassionate, friendly, and definitely an amazing manager! This location should and I'm sure already does appreciate the pride She must take in her work to go above and beyond the way she has.

Had some issues not being able to fit my car into a 10x20 unit at a St. Pete location, decided to switch to this location and get a smaller unit and store my car elsewhere. Jennifer was extremely helpful and understanding, she even went out of her way to get my other unit cancelled as there was no one to talk to at the St.Pete location. Very impressed with her dedication to excellent customer service.

I'll give it 5 stars when people don't get away with abandoning tiny abused puppies right out front. Not their fault but they didn't call for help either.

I have been renting a unit at this Public Storage location on Gandy blvd since August 2022 and I must say it has been nothign but positive. The manager on site (Jennifer I think) it seems is always on site sweeping, cleaning, checking things with a clipboard in her hand lol and even knows me by name. I sleep soundly at night knowing that she is managing....well.....my life in the form of things that are important to me. The facility is very clean and I have NEVER seen a bug or rodent (my biggest fear and from what I understand is quite rare in self storage). Thank you Self Storage and than you Jennifer(the manager)

Excellent clean storage facility and ladies that work there are super duper nice and friendly. Reserve online cause u sometimes can get a little better price but either way, the rent is very reasonable. By the way, i noticed a few people commenting the about the elevator being out, i did not see this issue, people were going up and down them just fine. So either they're fixed or people weren't operating them correctly or something.

Elevators are always out of service. I can't get my things that are on the 4th floor. I've gonna on many different days of the week and the Elevators are always down. They put in horrible Elevators that shutdown if the doors are left open for too long. But how can you load your belongs in if you don't hold the Elevator open so of course they are gonna keep breaking down the moment they are fixed again. I can't even move my belongings to another place because I can't get to them. I'm very upset.

No one is ever in the office! Doors are always locked. If someone is on lunch , there should be a notice on the door of when someone will be back in the office!!! This has not been the first time that this has Occurred this is an on going issue and needs an adjustment for customers who need service.!!!

Ridiculous way to do business, this place sells 5x5 units on top of other units and doesn’t explain that in the online process only labels it as a “locker”, we arrived to find our unit 8-9 feet in the air unreachable other than by a ladder, I find it unprofessional even thievery to not make this clear in your online process and then say anything is non refundable, in my opinion this place took money from us a young couple, I’ll be doing my business elsewhere from now on.

This facility was new and under different management when we moved in and it was great! Now under Public Storage ownership our rent has been increased twice, the facility is filthy dirty, the people in the office are either never there or not helpful when they are and the bathroom is disgusting with no toilet paper! Can't wait to move our things out.

If it wasn’t for the price I’m paying per month I wouldn’t rent here. The facility is gross. Only 3 carts. The bathroom looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in DAYS. (I’ve been coming every morning to drop stuff off since Monday) and the overall facility isn’t kept up. The elevator has been down for days. So there’s only one working elevator. I wish I could go back to the public storage location on Fowler but due to a move I can’t.

Hi i had a very bad experience with this storage company . They advertised that you pay a dollar for your first month rent .. a month is a course of 30-31 days. They dont advertised that the dollar is just for the month of an at the end. So basically if you came in on the 29th of the month you pay a dollar plus another fifty dollars an on the first which is three days turn around and pay the full amount. That is a rip off they advertise a month not the month of.. I have been comin there I have never experienced this problem. I feel mislead

Far and away the worst run storage facility I've ever seen! My code worked on Day 1, Day 5, it didn't work - no sign of management, one week later I came by,the code didn't work and the elevators were both not working. I had to walk up & down 3 flights of stairs 6 times. Then yesterday, I show up 45 minute before close, code doesn't work again. We had to wait 40 min for the manager. 2 weeks later no working elevators on a Saturday, again.

The building is very nice and kept clean. There are lots of great unit options.

It’s a relatively important thing to know that ALL of the elevators are out of commission on the date you’re planning on starting your rental. I was not advised of this issue at all and I have a unit on floor 3. I cannot store an overwhelming majority of my things in the unit until this is fixed. Unreal.

My move in date was march 12, 2022. I recieved an email with my access code. I showed up with my things and a helper. My access code did not work. Another customer let me in. Elevators did not work. I used the stairs to check out my locker and they still had the blue security lock on it. I tried calling and using the virtual assistant. I had to find another storage area in the area since the moving company was on the way. It is now the 15th and have had not a phone call, email, or text. The man who let me into the building told me there hasn't been a site manager around for 3 days. Obviously why y locker was never made accessible. I plan to demand my storage rental cost refunded and contract null or void. Do not use this company. Use cube smart. It is more expensive but at least its worth it. The onboarding experience is why I went with this place. It was extremely easy and everyone was really nice. I spoke with John on the phone as well as Andrea. The first month is only $1, but there are various fees that require a larger sum for down payment depending on your options. Unfortunately this is how it is pretty much everywhere else, so the friendly staff and simple experience make this place a no brainer.

Staff is courteous, knowledgeable and friendly although cubesmart offers great prices then you pay expensive insurance rates (mandatory) each month and buy their very pricey lock. Its not the deal you think. I am not sure you read my review correctly. Your staff was great, your mandatory pricing is not. If we do not choose to pay for insurance then we should not have to be charged a mandatory fee beginning at an additional $12/monthly. I can understand the purchase of the tube lock since it's a one-time fee but the pricing you offer is not comparable to other storage facilities. Thank you for the offer to review my account but I am not moving forward with cubesmart due to the "extras" that you require.
