Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 5929 South College Ave, Fort Collins, CO

Couple years in: and still very happy with everything. Didn't want to go with the Contactless option. I could see the location was a good fit, but felt it necessary for myself to visit the site first. What I found when I arrived was great for a storage facility and meets those needs. The counter person was polite and very helpful. The security, (gate and entry codes) is a pretty standard. If you are thinking about using the Contactless rent option I say go for it.

Zack is so helpful, my wife needed to get some stuff out of storage. She isn't the best at parking the truck and Zack helped her park without getting the truck into trouble. Happy wife, happy life

Our house is small and we have limited space, so it was time to swap out our storage needs. We worked with Zachary and he explained the benefits of actually getting a larger unit to hold it all some of the seasonal stuff we were keeping around the house. I just moved to Fort Collins from North Carolina, and Zachary was the first friendly face I met. And after the long non-stop 26 hour drive, it was nice. We needed help with finding a storage facility and deciding on the right size and he went over the various options with us. He was really great to work with and patient with us in deciding which unit would be best. Public Storage, you guys have a really great guy representing your company. And I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a storage facility in the area.

They'll dramatically increase your rent rate after 6 months for no reason. The whole company's policy on this is awful. Go elsewhere that gives you a standard rate for longer.

Great storage facility. The rates are good and competitive for the area. The property manager who operates this location is a great human to work with (names don’t stick in my memory long, sorry!!) Please have a plan and discuss with any moving companies you may use to haul your items- and discuss with the property manager as well. He has tips, suggestions and great advice and guidance on companies. I made that mistake by not talking to him first and had a company whose truck was too large to effectively travel through the corridors and a lot of time and energy was wasted (moving company not Public Storage!) Location is great, albeit not the easiest to access first time showing up- but if you rent there it won’t be a problem and you’ll find your groove fast. It is on quite a hill- but that means there’s no worry about water damage to your items!

No property manager no sign? No one available during business hours what a joke. Hope corporate will see this and get someone that can be available. Some person told me that there never available or never there. What's the point getting a storage unit out here in Fort Collins

Easy fast 💨 to load and unload customer was very pleased 😃 with my service

Storage units are fine and have a light but they raise the price over and over. I started out paying $170 and now pay $316 just a few years later. They also send emails saying your unit is unlocked when payment is late and then actually lock your unit after you pay so you can't get into it. THEY ACTUALLY RAISED MY RATE THREE TIMES DURING THE PANDEMIC 👎👎👎

Morgan was super helpful, even when having trouble with my code. I would highly recommend Public Storage to anyone looking for a storage space in Fort Collins that has remarkable customer service and reasonable rates. I got a reasonable deal locked in at under $100 a month with insurance on a fairly large size unit. Best deal in town.

It's basic but it works cheap fast easy

I am beyond livid. The property manager dropped the ball big time. During BUSINESS HOURS (per the website), he was nowhere to be found... not in the on-site house nor by phone. My unit's door got stuck open with all my stuff in there, and it was raining. I called twice and left a voicemail. Finally had to call corporate customer service. They couldn't reach him either. Said they reached out to a district manager or something. Hours later, still nothing from either. Luckily I was able to reach out to a friend who came and unjammed the door for me, but I would otherwise still be stuck in the rain with an unclosable storage unit. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Place needs TLC. Exterior night lights hanging down, needs painting, driving path to narrow. They have a plow team come all the way from Colorado Springs. They raise price to people who pay on time and the ones that are always late there prices stay the same. Avoid this storage unit. The frontage road is in terrible shape

Fantastic staff!! Zachary I think it was so so great we broke some of the ice in parking lot in front of our unit and he came back through and shoveled the rest for us. Really amazing attitude he deserves a raise for sure :) Really great at explaining everything I feel secure leaving our stuff with them!!

Would highly NOT recommend this place. I rented a storage unit they assured me would be big enough. It was not, no big deal. I tried to rent a larger space to hold all of my stuff and kept being transferred as they could "rent me a second space but could not upgrade my space". I was finally referred to talk to the property manager. I left a message and attempted multiple calls with no call back. I then called corporate as that's the only number available to the public to speak with and the office door at the facility is locked with no one inside. They advised me I will receive a full refund for the unit since I "vacated" on my first day. I have yet to see a refund and everytime I call I am told they are giving my information to a supervisor and they say no one has done that yet. This has happened multiple times. I ended up going to Manhattan Storage in Fort Collins and am much happier. The rates are better with no "6 month increase" and someone works the front office daily. Also the storage unit is flat so you don't have to worry about getting your moving truck or car stuck on icy hills like you do at public storage.
