I recently rented a unit at Public Storage, and my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Initially, I was drawn in by their promise of 24-hour access to my belongings, which was a key factor in my decision to choose them. However, I quickly discovered that this was not the case. Access hours were limited, and I found myself unable to retrieve my items when I needed them most. It felt misleading and left me frustrated.
To make matters worse, I experienced a serious breach of trust when I discovered that someone had entered my unit without my authorization. This is completely unacceptable and raises significant concerns about the security of my belongings. I expect my storage unit to be a safe space, and this incident shattered that sense of security.
Additionally, I noticed that my handheld car battery charger was missing after the unauthorized entry. While I can't definitively say it was taken during that incident, the timing is suspicious and has left me feeling uneasy about the overall integrity of the facility.
In summary, my experience with Public Storage has been marred by false advertising regarding access hours, unauthorized entry into my unit, and the loss of my personal property. I would not recommend this storage facility to anyone looking for a reliable and secure place to store their belongings. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
Lynita was really friendly and extremely helpful with getting set up. If you have your own lock you’ll get refunded on the lock deposit when you return it.
DO NOT RENT HERE! You'll regret it. I LOVED Summit, and have been nothing BUT disappointed in Summit being taken over by Public Storage. In all the time I rented at Summit, I NEVER saw anyone abuse the trash--not one time did I see anyone put trash outside the dumpster if it was full, nor did I see furniture left at the dumpster, yet without ANY justification or provocation, Public Storage IMMEDIATELY put a lock on the dumpster, eliminating trash service for customers. I'm not surprised Public Storage has the worst reputation among storage facilities. They act like they're doing YOU a favor by letting you give them money. Additionally the gate hours are the worst (6 AM-9 PM), plus there's a manager on site 7 days a week, which automatically jacks up prices. And Summit GAVE customers locks. You'd open your door and there was a brand-new lock on the floor free of charge. These yahoo's make you pay $19 for a lock AND you can't even fill out their contract online without buying their expensive insurance. Too bad I can't give Public Storage zero stars.
Lenita is awesome! Very kind and helpful!!!
Lynata made this process so easy for me ! Just moved here from Alaska. Got my one month for just a dollar and she made it quick and painless! Love her. ! Love this place !
I just like to say the nice lady (lynita) went out of her way to show the difference in the unit's not once but twice once having to go back to the office when we asked about seeing the difference in size unit .she was so pleasant when she showed us the unit's,but also when she did her job in the office finalizing the paperwork Thank you lynita at public storage 6651 n Franklin avenue
New management is great. Lynita in the front office is amazing.
Lynita Did a wonderful Job !!! Highly Recommend Public Storage !!
Lynita helped me get my storage unit and was very helpful ! Would recommend 10/10
Horrified that Summit is being taken over by Public Storage. Public Storage has the WORST reputation, and Summit's hours are 5 AM-11PM. Public's are 6 AM-9 PM. Who the hell wants a Storage that closes at 9? Even Storage Sense closes at 10. I'm leaving.
Terrible management and communication
Easy to access; plenty of room. Trouble free.
Very easy process, and we were so pleased to find a new lock left inside the unit for our convenience.
I wish I could give zero stars. My experience with Summit Self Storage in Loveland has been nothing short of a disaster. Just a few days ago, I was informed by the new property manager that my unit was one of many “vandalized” and I needed to check if anything was missing. Upon arrival, I found that around $15,000 worth of my power tools and skis were gone, with my unit door hanging off the rails—clearly broken into and unsecured. Half of the doors in my area were similarly damaged.
The property manager couldn’t even admit these units were broken into, stating no other tenants had reported anything missing (yet). The complete lack of urgency was appalling. No effort was made to re-secure the units after the break-in. When I asked about camera footage, the response I got was dismissive at best, hinting that the cameras were either malfunctioning or that management just didn’t care enough to check.
I contacted Loveland police, and to my shock, I was the first person to report the incident, despite this not being the first time it’s happened at this location. It’s clear that management has failed in every possible way: zero accountability, no communication, and absolutely no follow-through.
The photo I’ve attached shows what you should watch out for if you have a unit at Summit Self Storage. Break-ins happen when the doors are kicked off their rails, making it easy to bend the door and climb underneath. There is no on-site property manager, and after the gates close, there’s nothing stopping people from breaking in. The doors don’t have automatic locks, and many of the security cameras have black spray paint covering them, rendering them useless.
Do yourself a favor and avoid Summit Self Storage in Loveland at all costs. This place is a nightmare waiting to happen, and if you value your belongings, take them elsewhere.
