Hugo Storage Units Added to Help Customers
Mar 31, 2023 / Matthew Sanderson
We’re adding a lot more storage units in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area as part of a growth spurt we started here in 2018. Our newest location is in the popular suburb of Hugo.
Our first storage facility in town, the property represents a more than 4% increase in the number of locations in the area north of Minneapolis. It’s also just the latest Public Storage added in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
We bought this existing storage facility and opened Public Storage 13465 Fenway Blvd. Circle North, Hugo, MN 55038 in July 2019. The location offers more than 400 options in a range of sizes for every need, including some climate controlled storage units.
Other spaces are outdoors for easy drive-up loading and unloading. And like all of our storage locations, the office here sells moving and storage supplies such as boxes, tape and so much more!
Located more than 10 miles northeast of St. Paul, our Hugo facility has grey stone accents and is visible from Forest Boulevard, aka U.S. Highway 61.“The residents of Hugo and nearby Forest Lake have had to drive to neighboring towns and cities to store,”; said Erin Berrisford, an area manager who will be overseeing the Hugo facility. “We are excited to be able to service the community!”;
Economic Growth in Hugo Reflects Region
Our Public Storage Orange signs are going up in town at a time of increasing need in Hugo, which grew by 12% since 2010, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, a trend the company expects to continue.
The Hugo housing marketing is hot too, with values increasing 6% over the past year but still offering a 15% break below the average per square foot cost of homes in the St. Paul area, according to Zillow.
“We have a lot going on here,”; said area manager Charles Gardiner.
Hugo is a commuter town originally established as refueling station for the Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad. Like the neighboring towns of Forest Lake and White Bear Lake, it is thriving and growing with its proximity to Highway 61 and the Twin Cities.
“This area surrounds a large lake and is a popular residential town where businesses are moving in and growing,”; Berrisford said.
