Stay clear of this place! The absolute worse after signing up. The on-site property manager Candace was all smiles and helpful until I had a problem. Made it a point to ask for a good Google review before the ink was dry on the paperwork. That's when everything went downhill. Immediately you're forced to buy a $3 lock that they charge $25 for. The unit was convenient which is the only reason I chose to use for the temporary storage of my car. It only got worse from there as I was actually locked out of my unit for three days although I had paid in advance for an additional 25 days. They imposed a rule that is NOWHERE IN WRITING or mentioned to me, about the need to keep my empty unit locked. As a result of numerous calls to the corporate office and multiple other numbers I could find over 3 day period, I finally got someone who was supposedly of authority. This person, Joshua Clark, claiming to be a regional manager who was incredibly rude, disrespectful and of no assistance whatsoever dismissed my concern and protest. Ultimately a Ms. Johnson returned a call from two days previously and offered a token amount for my inconvenience. It bears mentioning the overhead door and locking mechanism never worked properly and was always presented a struggle to enter the unit. The ultimate episode was of course when the entire ceiling fell on my car and the same supposed regional manager was again extremely rude, insulting and essentially said we're not going to help you in any way. Not our fault our ceiling fell in on your car! I've since moved my vehicle to Cube Storage in Annapolis and happen to mention my episode at the Crofton Public Storage facility. Wouldn't you know the manager there and employee, knew the location well and mention it’s common knowledge that location has had a chronic problem with disrepair and falling ceilings for years. If I was able to give Public Storage, Crofton zero stars, I would. The absolute worst place and again STAY CLEAR and spread the word.

UPDATE: 5-2023, Public storage continues to raise prices at very high increments. If you get a "good deal" on a rental as in an advertised special, expect it to go in about a year and increase every year after, more or less. My $229 unit is going up this next payment to $291, almost exactly a 27% increase. Do I have to rent a new unit every year now just to try and keep the price down a bit for a while? This time is was only a year and the price is almost $300, which I paid for my last unit for many months, and when they were raising again, i rented the 2nd unit. Currently the online price for a new 10X20 unit is $188 and that is the hook. Plan on it increasing every year after that. I've been there for about 15 years, you do the math. I will say this, I like the convenience, easy access and pretty good hours too. The managers generally nice in my experience. Therefore I have reduced the 5 star to a 3 star for that reason. I thought about 1 star but the units are ok. I didn't like the lock change required and the trouble I've had with them (and still do). You have to buy a lock from them but they are your locks and your responsibility if they don't work right. They changed the lock hardware and I still have trouble getting in a lot of the time. But we are required to use the lock they sold us. Makes no sense to me. I guess it someone doesn't pay for a while they are easier to get into than a padlock. Anyway I could keep going but....... This was 4 years ago. I have rented in Crofton for over 11yrs. Have there been problems, yes. Do they get resolved, yes. Even thought he unit managers change from time to time, I have to say they are always great. Friendly and willing to help out any way they can. Recently when my rate went up, I made some calls and emails in order to see what could be done (note my tenure). After a few calls, it was worked out, and I'm even getting less than expected in a reduction. Obviously this has not always happened, but it did this time. And Josh, the Manager, was great to work with and did everything in his power to help me. I'm a happy customer!

This place makes it super easy to do business. Started the process on line snd then Kristy called to check in. I decided to finish the rest of it at the office and she is a dream. Explained everything and I got a great price as well. Its well worth going here even if only to deal with this awesome girl who knows the meaning of customer service!!

Renting a storage from here has been the best decision for me. I was super late to the location to rent but Kristy waited for me. Even though it was after the storage was already closed. Kristy was really helpful explained everything did not rush me. I helped very comfortable with her. She even walked to my storage unit with me.

It has been a little over a month since my 5 star review.... I am now changing it to a 1 star... It started when we were called back because they rented us the "wrong" unit. When they made the change, it must have canceled our free month promotion. They now are saying we owe for this month. A staff member went over to correct this problem today, and was met with rude and condescending staff member.... It's okay though, we have now canceled our unit all together. Kristy and Kristina were amazingly helpful. They went out of their way to help our company obtain two storage units at the last minute.

This company has been nothing but a headache since setting up these accounts. THEY made an ERROR and had me complete paperwork for the wrong unit and then when they "corrected" their error they failed to put the correct billing email which has now caused additional fees to be added to my bill and caused access issues for my employees. All of this for units that get to be so hot you cant breath in, seems a bit much. SEEK ANOTHER SOURCE FOR YOUR STORAGE NEEDS!
