Life is busy, so at Public Storage we make paying your monthly bill easy. We provide several options so that no matter where you are, you can easily make your payment, or set up AutoPay—so you don’t have to worry about your bill every month. In fact, you are also automatically entered for a chance to win $1,000 every month you use it! Maybe we can pay you!
You can sign up for AutoPay at any Public Storage location, by phone or online using your checking account or your debit card to be automatically enrolled to win; we also accept VISA®, MasterCard®, American Express® or Discover® credit cards. You can always update your method of payment, cancel, or do a one-time override by paying early a different way (as a friendly tip, if your payment fails due to a change in your account number or insufficient funds, AutoPay will be disabled until you go in and manually set it up again with a different form of payment).
If you decide to pay on your own, the rent due date at Public Storage is easy to remember; it’s the first day of the month. To help you remember – and avoid a late fee -- we will send you an email invoice (you will automatically receive these if you give us your email address when moving in!) to keep everything on the right track!

Pay In Person
You can pay your rent at any Public Storage location. So if you’re on the road or just happen to be driving past a Public Storage, you can stop in and make a payment. Our friendly staff will be happy to assist you. Public Storage office hours are usually
Monday - Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
These may vary somewhat by location, so be sure to check online to confirm. Property Managers also occasionally need to close the office to show a customer a storage space, take care of property maintenance or take their lunch break. You can always call ahead to ensure they will be available at the time you plan to come by.
Pay By Mail
You can mail your payment (we recommend mailing checks only) to any Public Storage location. It’s always a good idea to put your account number on your check to be certain your money gets credited to your account. Mailing at least a week in advance of your rent due date is also a great idea.
To pay online, whether on desktop or mobile, you will need to set up online account access. If you reserved your unit online, you will already have a username and password to access your account. If you do not have an account set up or forgot your information, go to PublicStorage.com and click on “my account” in the upper right-hand corner. On the next page you can select “Not Sure If You Have An Online Account”, and provide the email address you gave when moving in to receive an email that will allow you to reset your login information.
Once you are logged in, click on either the “Make a Payment” button or “Payments” tab and simply follow the steps to make your payment (Public Storage employs state-of-the-art site encryption on both our mobile and desktop sites so you can transact with confidence).
For credit cards, you will receive a payment confirmation on the screen only after your credit card payment goes through. Otherwise you will receive an error message and the opportunity to correct the entry so that your payment goes through.
For payments by check, your confirmation is tentative until verification comes back from your bank that there are sufficient funds and that the account number is valid (this could take up to a few days depending on you banking institution). If the bank does not confirm, you will receive an email and letter stating that your payment did not go through.
While in your account, consider turning on AutoPay – it’s a free service, and AutoPay will automatically make your monthly rent payment for you so you never have to remember again. You can always turn AutoPay off at any time, so you are completely in control. Signing up will also automatically enter you for a chance to win $1,000 every month you use it!
Pay By Phone
You may pay you bill by phone by calling 1-866-444-4747. When prompted, enter the phone number we have on file for your account. Please be aware that because this form of payment requires additional systems and phone staffing, a processing fee of up to $20 may be charged (Please note, for the protection of your information, individual locations are not able to accept payments over the phone, phone payments are only accepted by calling 1-866-444-4747). If you are located outside of the U.S., the pay-by-phone number will not work. However, you can always mail your payment or pay online.
