New Public Storage New York City Facility Complete

Karl Gill is excited to welcome Public Storage New York customers to the top floor of one of the largest storage facilities in the country for the first time this week.
He thinks everyone will appreciate the shiny new storage units at the facility he manages, right across the Harlem River from Manhattan at Public Storage 385 Gerard Avenue, Bronx, NY.
“Competitors, they have all come by to look because it’s pretty impressive,”; said Karl, who is an on-site district manager of the facility. He and his 14-member team make sure things run smoothly at a self storage facility so massive that it could fit at least four other large storage properties within its walls.
After a grand opening more than three months ago for the first available units, additional storage spaces were brought on over time as more customers moved in to the remodeled warehouse. The twelfth floor is the last to be ready for business.
The facility’s size and the sheer volume of foot traffic, with hundreds of new customers coming through every month, make it customer-centric, Karl said. Employees simply have more on-the-job practice working with people.
“We make sure this team knows it’s a team and we work together and succeed together. That’s the big thing,”; said Karl, pictured below with Property Manager Hannah Sherbourne (center) and Reservation Captain Seleena Ulla (far right).
His philosophy seems to be paying off with smiling employees and near-perfect reviews for Public Storage on Google.
If you are lucky enough to score a private tour of this Public Storage facility, the 94-year-old former freight warehouse also happens to have a pretty great view of Manhattan or of Yankee stadium to the north.
There are two retail offices where customers can rent storage units or buy boxes and supplies. The location even has 24-hour security monitoring.
This storage facility also has a large loading dock for whatever your storage needs might be.
