Commuters along Interstate 87 in the Bronx, New York have been watching our self-storage handiwork for months now, as we complete work on the largest Public Storage facility ever. It is finally open for business, and we can’t wait to show it off.

Public Storage 385 Gerard Avenue, Bronx, NY 10451, was created when the company purchased a 94-year-old warehouse that is now transforming the skyline along the Harlem River, with stripes of Public Storage orange, new roofs and insulated exterior panels.

We are thrilled to offer benefits hard to find in New York City, such as free parking and off-street loading docks. Security in the “green”; building is state of the art, as are the high-speed elevators. All this comes at a great price too, with some units starting as low as $1 for the first month’s rent.

Improvements to the 12-story building will be ongoing. When the project is complete, the facility will be nearly 40 percent larger than the next largest of our 2,079 locations. The work comes during a larger gentrification of the South Bronx neighborhood that also includes the new Yankee Stadium and Bronx Terminal Market shopping and dining center.
