The History of Broken Arrow

In the early 1900s, the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad established a rail line through the area that’s now Broken Arrow, selling a portion of the surrounding town site privileges to the Arkansas Valley Town Site Co. The company’s secretary was given permission to choose one of the future town locations and give it a name, and he chose the name Broken Arrow as a nod to the Native American community that had once existed there.
