I just made a glowing review and I just got a notice my bill will be going up $100.00 next year! That is insane. My glowing review for the space still goes but beware of the bait and switch pricing!!! I will be moving out of my storage for this reason. I found another storage space for more reasonable price.
This public storage is well kept and clean. No problem ever getting my stuff out. It makes for a beautiful place to take photos for sale. Lots of bright light and the lights in the hallways are bright.
Clean, well lit, nice size unit in Sorrento Valley. Off the beaten path, staff have been helpful. My only complaint is that less than six months occupancy, and my rent was raised $18/month (45%). I noted to management that I had been renting less than six months, and that was a big increase. They gave me $5 off for the next three months, so I was only raised $13/mo (32.5%) for three additional months, then the full increase took effect. A savings of $15. Don't get me wrong, every dollar helps, and I appreciate that they made an effort. Still, I am looking at my upcoming 2nd move in less than a year, 66 years old. I would not be renting a unit if it was not needed. I would appreciate a more reasonable approach to rental pricing, especially increases.

I reserved a rental 5x5 storage unit online, drove to the storage unit and was very happy with service both online and the people at the front desk who were very kind and helpful, the lady gave clear instructions on the phone and the kind gentleman gave me a demonstration of how to use the lock for the storage unit door, very happy with the service.

I had a very pleasant experience signing up for a storage unit today at the Public Storage facility on Sorrento Valley Road in San Diego. The facility is very neat and clean with excellent security. Megan was very friendly and helpful. She walked me to the unit and made sure that I had the lock installed and was able to access the facility and my unit through use of the app. Overall, a great experience!

It turns out having a reservation doesn't actually reserve anything. I reserved a 5'x5' and showed up, but was told they actually don't have any 5'x5' spaces available. They'd normally bump me up to the next largest, but they didn't have any of those either. Fortunately I was able to go to a different PS place that was a little further away.

Currently moving my stuff out to a competitor due to my rent being raised over 40% within a few months of moving in. They get you in with a low rent then raise it every few months and hope you stay paying too much. Found another local place that gives a price guarantee for a year and is also a month to month commitment. Gave three stars because it is a newer place and the units are clean. Staff is sometimes friendly and sometimes not. For me it came down to rent. In this economy I can’t afford to be surprised by a 30-40% increase randomly like that. My suggestion to the owners: give a price guarantee for a year. It’s better to have tenants there rather than empty units.

Termite infestation. Went to the storage unit this last Saturday only to discover my boxes near the door were completely infested with TERMITES. Called the office but the manager was not on duty that day. Didn't want to leave my stuff in there one minute longer so I cleared everything out. I finally talked to the manager and I asked that the least they could do was waive that month that I've already paid for since a termite infestation is unacceptable and a lot of my property had been irreparable damaged. He was incredibly rude and claimed there was no evidence of termites and basically accused me of fabricating a story. I've attached some photos of the type of damage you can expect if you rent a storage facility here.
New building is great! Property is kept nice and clean. Staff was so helpful especially Michael with answering all my questions.

I rented with public storage for about 7 months. There are some pros and cons to renting at this particular location.
Pros:
- They offer really good prices! We got a 10’ x 15’ for about $150. They have specials that go on where you could possibly get it lower
- They keep the facility clean.
- They are really secure. You need a passcode to use the gate, loading door, and elevator. This makes them keep track of who is coming and going because every renter has their own code.
- They also have an EV charger onsite.
Now to Cons:
- This facility is not good if you have to move large household items back and forth. The main issue is because of the passcode system.
- They are too secure. Because you need a passcode for everything it makes it harder to move things in and out of your unit. I get trying to make sure no one stuff get stolen and having accountability but I feel like there should be a way to on like a “movers mode” so the doors and elevator can be used freely.
- They don’t do prorated rent if you move-out. You have to pay a full month rent. I moved out on 11/4 and they couldn’t discount for all the days I didn’t use so make sure you leave before the end of the month.
- I have one situation where they tried to raise the rent but they ended up fixing it and helping me out.
As a long time Public Storage customer that has needed to use multiple locations, this is by far the best location yet. My interaction with the Property Manager, Michael, left a wonderful impression. Michael was communicative, clear, and willing to help. I am so glad I discovered this spot and can rest assured I'm in good hands!
We have used two storage units here for 6 months. We are just now moving out. Everything here stays sparkling clean. It is secure. We’ve not seen a single bug or problem in any boxes and tubs we’ve already unpacked. I highly recommend this location. Michael has taken good care of us in the office.

Barely any dollies. Customer service is indifferent when called, 'what would you do if there are no dollies provided to begin with?' I expect better than this from a storage company. I told them the least they could do is someone walk around couple of times a day collecting dollies left somewhere.
Michael and William were awesome in handling my luggage and amazing to speak with. I recommend public storage to everyone. It is quick, reliable and secured.

Move in was easy and every time we’ve been in to access our unit, everything has been really smooth. We ended up getting a second unit and they helped us find one right around the corner from our first unit. Happy we chose to store things here, thanks!

My experience has been so wonderful. Moving can be very stressful and Michael was so courteous and helpful. I needed another storage unit at the last minute as I needed more space. The place is great, it’s new and is very clean. I am the first tenant in my unit. The security in the building is superb, you’ll need to enter your code three times to get to your unit, and the elevator won’t go to any other floor but where you entered the building and where your unit is at. Michael at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and he is such a kind human being. I actually was having a very emotional day when I was signing up with the place, and I was very tired and, frankly, snappy, he offered me a friendly hug and, oh boy, I didn’t know how much I needed it. We need more people like Michael in our world. Mike, if you are reading this, thank you, you made my day better. I highly recommend renting a unit from this facility.
Visited Public Storage in Sorrento Valley, recently, and was assisted by Will. He made my experience lovely. Things ran quickly and smoothly and thanks to his help, I was able to have a stress free and easy experience. Would be happy to come back.

The best experience here! You won’t regret it. I was having some difficulties accessing my storage unit here but thanks to Micheal and Will I was able to move in all my things. They were very patient with me and helpful; fast working & very knowledgeable about their work place. They’re very kind and made my experience the best here.
Lots of extra fees that negate any special offer, like the admin fee and the extra special lock you need to buy.
Gates/Access code don’t work properly. It’s either takes forever for their app to unlock. If you use your code you might need to enter several times before you can open a door or access the elevator.

This location charged me $25 for a lock that I don't need. You can either use your own cylinder lock or buy one from them no exceptions.

I made two separate in person visits to this property before booking a storage unit. Michael was working both times and assisted me above and beyond what I could have ever imagined. first of all, they are having one dollar special for the first month currently and I’m taking advantage of that. First of all Michael, the property manager, is amazing. It’s my first time using a self storage so I had a lot of questions, and he answered him clearly, and it was a lot of details. He’s very helpful, and very nice person. I was only thinking of using them for a couple months maybe but it may be something that I can go for a long time. We’ll see. Thank you.

The team here is great! I had some trouble accessing my unit, when I went in for help they made it super quick and waited while I made sure my code worked. I don’t remember her name but she was great!
We initially contacted the facility regarding an available storage unit and had a positive interaction with the initial customer service representative, who was polite and courteous. During this conversation, we provided information about storing two motorcycles and accompanying riding gear, confirming our possession of the required registration and insurance.
Despite scheduling an appointment for the next day at 9:30 am to view the unit, we received a call from someone claiming to be the manager a few hours later. This individual pushed for an immediate online payment, assuring a refund if dissatisfied. We expressed our preference to see the storage space before committing, and after some resistance, he reluctantly scheduled an appointment for 1:30 pm.(for us this looks like he did not want to show it to us from the beginning)
Upon our arrival and disclosure of our storage needs, the manager abruptly informed us that they do not accept motorcycle storage, contradicting our previous conversation with the customer service over the phone . His demeanor turned notably rude and disrespectful, and he showed a lack of professionalism by walking away without addressing our concerns or even holding the door open as we left. This experience left us with serious reservations about the facility’s commitment to customer service and raised questions about their communication and professionalism.

Michael, on-site Manager was helpful getting set up. Best to go to a PS first to see what is space available, prices. Specials etc. And then set up a login. It's simple and Sorrento facility: Use the PS App & then you can open the gate without getting out of the car! WOW

Best storage experience
I am relocating to San Diego and so I called into the Public Storage on Sorrento Valley Rd 10/31/22 2pm. The rep gave me his prices and I let him know that I'm still shopping around. He then said he will check surrounding location pricesand so I asked the rep if he could email me the prices because I'm in the middle of a job at work and I wanted to just make a quick call. He arrogantly told me that we weren't even on the phone that long, he then told me he will let me go so that he can take care of a customer that wants his business! Let's just say this rep just made my mind up really quickly to do business with their competitor instead. I called the nearby competitor & she was so very polite. I thanked her for her time & politeness & explained my experience & let her know she earned my business in a few months
Great location. Just don’t get Row E if you have a 26ft truck because it won’t be able to back into the row!
The PS website there's a manager at every facility so I drove down to Sorrento Valley. I wanted to view an available storage unit but there wasn't anyone in the office or onsite when I got there. I called the number on the office door and the rep told me managers cover 3-4 facilities so there may not be a site manager onsite at any given facility during operating hours. He said he'd try to patch me into the manager's phone, but the call went directly into PS voicemail. It's unfortunate because this place is convenient and has the most affordable roll-up unit around, but absentee management is disappointing.
Micheal handled his job fast and efficient, and also a very Respectful person. He was covering a different facility and did excellent he was the best person ever. Come see him he will take care of you.
I came in today to make a payment. And was met by Michael, he was very nice, personable and professional, very helpful. I very much appreciate his time and patience with my situation.
Hopefully, anyone that will be going into the office, will be met by Michael. Because he really truly is one of the nicest customer service representatives that I have ever dealt with anywhere. And that includes by phone.

Just switched over to new storage unit recently. Was super easy to do and I love new location. Super convenient, quiet, perfect setup for what I was looking for. My favorite part (besides actual unit) is Michael. He is the front desk guy (and wears many other hats too) and you’d think he would have paid me to rave but no check yet. Hahaha I crack me up. Anyways - he’s super chill and nice with that dry sense of humor. Very helpful and knowledgeable and definitely makes the whole experience easier and better. Happy to rate this place and Michael 6 stars out of 5. :)
