NIGHTMARE. RATS. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. when I opened the door to my unit there was a dead rat. I could also hear more scurrying around in the ceiling. This place is infested, and there was no one in the office AND no one would answer the phone to help remedy the situation. Don't let your stuff become rat infested, and don't deal with the complete lack of customer service

Whenever I've needed extra storage space, I always choose Public Storage. For the past 2 years I've been a customer at this location & received outstanding customer service. Raya is AMAZING! She is friendly, professional & promptly responds within less than 24 hours (usually the same day). The property is conveniently located, clean & secure. Twice I've forgotten to lock my unit, and thankfully Raya temporarily secured it for me until I could do so myself. If you need storage space, I highly recommend this property.

The process of moving is a stressful and tedious ordeal on its own. But if you are blessed enough to have meet a customer service agent, such as Norma, from the SE 244th Kent branch; it took a great deal of the tension out of the process. Also, she takes great pride of keeping her location clean, and was professional regarding returning phone calls. To have someone listen to you and who is very knowledgeable of the Public Storage policy and is willing to help get the best deal per your needs, you feel like someone is on your side and not just seeing what they can get away with. Plus, Her respectfulness and sense of levity, also allowed me to take my mind off of why I was moving in the first place … perfect timing.

There’s a few things to be careful of when you rent a unit here! They do not have any “dolly carts” to use, so you have to carry each single item one at a time to your unit. Just say you reserve a unit for the “30th” & you go pay on the 20th in advanced, they will sneakily charge you a prorate fee from the 20th-30th without explaining that your move in day starts when you 1st pay regardless of what date you asked for! So basically you will have a prorate bill due on the 1st & the money you put down will go towards your 1st month. Also, vacating a unit early does not mean you will receive any money back. They tend to go up $15-$25 every few months! There’s barely anyone in the office or that answers the phone. They have horrible customer service & they’re privately owned! Good luck here!!

BEWARE! ***UPDATE*** I spoke to the district manager after the last 12% increase and he said it is based on market rents. I just received the next increase and this one is 25%! They don’t value any of their customers, long-term or short-term, and they’re like every other publicly traded corporation and only care about profits. As another reviewer said, they will rope you in and then raise your rent. It doesn’t matter how nice their staff is, they just want to turn and burn as many customers as possible. Consider giving your money to a local privately owned storage facility!!! *** I’m VERY disappointed with Public Storage. I’ve been a loyal customer at this location for almost NINE YEARS, never paying rent late once. I recently downsized to a smaller unit and was very surprised when they raised my rent 12% after FOUR MONTHS. I’m used to annual increases but four months is ridiculous. Be sure to ask how often they will raise your rent because at this rate you’ll be paying an obscene amount in no time! Time to downsize completely.

A very shady place the on-site employee and also the manager Weatherby District tour of that unit in that area is very temperamental we were late getting out of our storage unit maybe four times and lesson and I need a spin and he gave me a temporary suspended time from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. when the normal time hours are 6 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. now we stayed there in that same punishment for I don't know six or seven months and then finally my girlfriend was late one more time and not by no choice of our own you sound like you live in the storage unit or anyting but they terminated our lease good riddance that place was horrible anyway plus they have too many knick knack rules for people who are just trying to restore their items not living storage units

When I needed storage space in a hurry Chelsea made it easy and even a pleasure to do business here. With her assistance my move went way more smoothly than it would have gone otherwise.

They tell you a price and once you get settled in, they raise thier price. Mine went up almost $100. I called and asked why this happened and they said it's based on the location. Yet thier online price to get a new storage was the same that was given to me at first. I asked to have it changed back to the original price and they would not do it. Will never use Public Storage again. They are crooks.

I enjoy my location...its priced well...and the staff is helpful. Ive been with them 4 or so months..and no complaints. .edit. Oct. 2021...I've been here a good while now .I've had 5 units at this location"07775" it's always clean..never had any pest issues...cept maybe a spider friend or two...I've transfered around the lot trying to downsize..than decided I was silly and transfered again to a bigger unit..and then again and even one last time to a bigger one...Chelsea has been great at taking care of my needs and requests..and always does a great job...the lot is clean...she is always very helpful and polite. I'm happiest with the unit I'm now in.. and glad we were able to help another ten year customer move and clean up to move to another state. And then work out the details of transferring. It was perfect timing! And Chelsea is always very professional, even when we push her buttons. I've seen her handle situations that most people would come unglued in..but she holds her chill and she finds a solution that works for everyone. That's what I call great customer service! She deserves a raise. And some more thankyou! Show some love for the people who help ya! They don't make the prices... they are there to help ya! And I'm not super fond of other public storage facilities...to be honest..but this facility I've been happy with the whole time! It is stand alone. Happy customer!!! 💯

Writing this review on behalf of my Mom Sakhiba. She has gone from one public storage location to another but there always has been some sort of problems, whether it was rat problem, theft problem or just poor customer service. Ever since she has moved to this location, she has been so happy. Chelsea is absolutely fantastic. Facility is always clean, no rodent problems, secure and well maintained. And absolutely amazing customer service. She is elderly so she doesnt get on computer a lot so she has asked me to write this from her. We are happy with this location.

Chelsea at property 08775 in Kent was very professional, with just the right balance of personal skills and professional manor. Storage units can be expensive when you're impatient for a sale with this company. However, the staff are always pleasant, they maintain the area around and within the buildings, and have a coded gate for loss prevention.

We had a 15’ X15’ space where we stored a houseful of furniture for 2 1/2 years. When we opened the unit we weren’t sure in what condition we’d find our furniture...it was exactly as we left it. We wondered if there would be any leakage due to all the Seattle rain...nope...dry as a bone. The manager of the facility was wonderfully pleasant and very helpful. Would absolutely recommend this location!

Haven't had storage needs for a number of years, but our recent experience with Public Storage was an all around success. Chelsea checked us in and checked us out (for a 3 month period in all), and she rates 5 stars+ for customer service.

The people at the Kent location are awesome. Always super friendly and helpful. They really try to help as much as they can and it shows. I've always been treated really well by these guys. Might not be the cheapest but you'll definitely get the best customer service by far.

Chelsea opened the office on time at 9:30am. She was very kind and knowledgeable. I made a reservation and checked-in online the night before so the whole process of renting a 10x15 was less than 20 minutes.

I made reservation online on Sat and they confirmed it right away. I went up and talked to Chelsea Sunday morning who was wonderful, unlike all the people at the PS storage units on 256th. Place is very clean and welcoming. I wouldn't recommend their 256th street location to anyone because of the staff. I was recommended to this location by a co-worker and I would highly recommend it to others. Chelsea and the lady I talked to on Sat (forgot her name) should go to the other location an teach some customer service.

Called around for a 5x10 storage unit and they had the best rates. They contacted me promptly to set up a walk-through to make sure it was the best size for my needs. When I got there, I was happily greeted by the manager Kathie. I ended up renting a 10 x 10 unit at a reasonable price. They offered a pretty good special on the first month and Kathie walked me through future payments, gate code and offered supplies needed for my unit. She was very professional and a pleasant to work with. I’ll definitely keep them in mind for any future rental unit needs!

This place is great! Jerome is amazing! You know your belongings are in good hands with a guy like that. When I initially made the reservation for my unit Jerome called me back promptly to confirm the reservation. Then I was unable to be there in person to finalize the paperwork, my SO went instead, he called to confirm with me before changing anything over to ensure my privacy and reservation were protected. The first time I arrived to unpack my things Jerome was there making his rounds, without missing a beat he knew exactly who I was because of the unit number, even though we just got it and he had never met me in person. It inspired confidence that my things would be safe and well maintained. Everytime I have been back since whether it is to retrieve something or pay my bill he has been courteous and prompt. Public Storage is lucky to have him. He is diligent, knowledgable, and provides spectacular customer service. Thanks Jerome!

I got my first unit yesterday and Jerome was an amazing help.(:He was friendly and accommodating, it was excellent service and I highly recommend this location.

When I got the unit they told me it would be paid THROUGH october, then called me Oct 2nd and say that my payment is due, so I went in and told them I couldn't pay it and emptied my storage and they are still trying to charge me for he whole month of october. Not only that but the same guy, who was really nice when I first got it, was completely unprofessional and rude when I told him I couldn't pay it this month and tried to give him my keys. Would definitely not recommend. As far as the units, the halls are always dirty and there are no lights, the lights in the hallway are dim and on a timer so when they turn off it's very dark.

WARNING!!!!! Do not store your items here!!! Loyal customer for 5 yrs after losing everything in a house fire stored what was salvageable there. Stayed even though they slowly, secretly raised my rent from $100 to $225 over the course of 5 years without one notice! Was often late on payments but never more then a month. They auctioned off my stuff because I was 28 days late on my Aug. payment. ($225) Never even left me a msg to warn me of the auction. 3 days after the auction they accepted my Aug. payment and still didn’t tell me thousands of dollars worth of items were already sold!!! Had to find out my stuff was auctioned off a month ago trying to make a Sept. payment. Site says I no longer am a tenant there?!!! What kind of f’ed up company does that?! Don’t use them. Find another company. Calling my attorney Monday morning.

The process of moving and coordinating all the logistics is a mountain when you add your mother in-law into the equation it then becomes Mount Everest. I had the luck and pleasure of meeting Jay one of the property managers at public storage who advised me and recommended numerous options that were unbeknownst to me that brought a great relief to much of the stress and confusion. The best advice I got was putting my mother in-law in her own unit giving me one less matter to interrupt act with her on. The more I am able to reduce my interaction with this wind bag the better my day is. In all seriousness Jay is a very pleasurable and extremely professional man who is easy to communicate with and extremely knowledgeable to more than storing and moving. I came to learn in conversation that Jay is also a former United States Marine. The corps would be very proud knowing the man they turned out knowing that he carried those same Corps values that were instilled into him into as a Marine into his current civilian posting. Jay thank you for your service to our country and thank you for minimizing my interaction with this annoying woman. Semper Fi.....

Wanted to let you know of great customer service I received from DM, Jim at the 244th st SE, Kent location. Yesterday while consolidating one of my units to another, something blocked the door and it was stuck. We thought the door broke but it turned out to be our fault. Maintenance guy was at an appt so Jim, the district manager, got down on the ground to figure out the issue in his business clothes while it was raining. Then he proceeded to fix the issue himself. Really, really appreciated and totally unexpected! Thank you!

Alicia was super friendly and prompt. Unfortunately, I was blindsided by the charge of a lock. It wasn't disclosed that I had to bring a lock in at the time of set up. I had my own lock but I didn't have it one me. So in order to get access to my unit same day I had to purchase a lock for $19.99. That info should be disclosed on the the reservation

Half the time the staff does not know what they're doing. This is a storage facility that has vagrants live on site as "Night security" which could sound good sugar coated, until you walk to your storage unit and see them sitting in their lawn chairs smoking cigarettes *update 5/8/17 my eft payment was deactivated unbeknownst to me and was not notified of such a change. When asked him several times and calling to the regional manager believe his name is Eric to have this fee waived not as a courtesy but because of their mistake I was denied several times. Now we will not continue to do business any longer. I would not recommend ever.

In the midst of continuous roving staff, Jane greets you with a smile and readiness to assist in any kind of way. She is very friendly and communicative. At first, I moved to this storage unit because of price, but in two years the rent on my small unit has gone up 20%. I wouldn't have a problem with it if everything was kept in good working order. When trying to access my indoor unit, i usually have issues getting the code to work and actually unlock the door. There's also the unfortunate incident when I tried to access my unit several weeks ago, and they had changed the door code WITHOUT notifying me. Also, don't be duped like i was about the first month being a dollar. They bill on the first of the month, so no matter if you move in on the 5th or 25th, it’s still $1 for that month, and full price the next month. I know it’s kind of petty, but still seems deceptive. UPDATE! their Credit card system messed up and canceled my autopay. when i received a late notice stating a late fee of $20 was added, I called the office manager and said I would re-enroll in the autopay feature, pay the $70 rent, but not the $20 late fee. She stated they would remove it from the account, no problem. Low and behold, they instead charged my credit card for the $20.00 and did NOT refund it. HORRIBLE!!! SECOND UPDATE - AND FINAL STRAW. Current market rate for my size unit is $49/month. I am paying $70/month. When I asked the manager, Kimmi, about it she basically said "Yes, as a current customer you pay higher than market due to annual rent increases". Awesome! move out is now scheduled and I will take my business elsewhere.

I've had a unit here for almost three years and recently had to rent a second one. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and the grounds are kept neat and clean and it's very easy access. I would highly recommend this location if you're in the market for renting a storage unit!

My name is Kimberly Braddy my mother has rented from your company for years. Every time I go there they lie about something . Plus they are so nonchalant. My mother lives in Kent , so we stop going to Federal Way and we started coming to the one in Kent. Kimmi has been wonderful she goes out of her way to make sure that we have a receipt she talked to us about insurance and she makes us happy when we come in. I don't have to worry about a bad attitude when I come here because ,she always has a smile on her. face if anybody should be a manager or get a pay raise it should be her you should hire more people like her. Last summer of 2013 is when I first rented from Public Storage and closed my storage 3 months later, returned back in November 2013. I would like to take the time to give Kimi a special thank you. Kimi takes the time to see what storage size and cost that fits best for the customers. I recently was out of town and received a courtesy call from Kimi to remind me of a payment that was due in two days, reason being for the courtesy call was due to my c/c # change, which I missed updating the new information, with that being said she saved me from receiving a late charge fee which I certainly appreciate her for it. She patiently will walk you though how everything works. She provides great service always with a smile... Thank you Kimi and Public Storage.

I have rented 4 or 5 Public Storage units at different locations in the past 10 years and this one is the best one by a long shot. It is clean, safe and well-cared for. Manager Kimmie watches over things and that's a good feeling. She is on the job and goes the mile to work with customers. The overall service is terrific: I would give Kimmie a generous raise for her hard work and dedication!

I have been a customer at this location for 3 years and have been very satisfied with the service that Kimmy gives to her customers, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the appreciation that she has for her customers. The only drawback is that it is not 24 hr access. This would be beneficial, since I work at odd times and is hard to get too the storage during open hours.

This place is the best very affordable and the staff here is excellent especially Kimmy. I've been a customer here for over 8 years. Is also very clean.
