Self Storage FAQs
Self-storage prices vary by location, unit size, features, and availability. Smaller units typically cost less than larger ones, and indoor and climate-controlled units may be priced differently than standard units. Public Storage offers month-to-month rentals, so you only pay for the time you need.
Specials vary by location and unit type, so checking current rates and promotions in your area is the best way to find the most up-to-date offers.
Start by taking inventory of what you plan to store and how often you'll need to access it. A small 5x5 unit often fits boxes or small household items, while medium sizes like 10x10 work well for multiple rooms' worth of belongings. Larger units, such as 10x20 or 10x30, are designed for bigger items or business needs.
Indoor Storage Units: Located inside a building with hallway access.
Outdoor Drive-Up Units: Ground-level units you can drive up to for quick loading and unloading.
Climate-Controlled Units: Designed to help maintain more consistent temperature and humidity levels. Availability varies by location.
Vehicle Storage: Options may include parking spaces or enclosed units for cars or small trailers.
RV or Boat Storage: Typically offered as open or covered parking spaces at select locations.
Business Storage: Units suited for storing inventory, equipment, or supplies without the cost of commercial property.
Features and availability vary by facility.

Climate-controlled storage helps maintain more consistent temperature and humidity levels inside the unit. It's commonly used for items like books, fabrics, electronics, or other belongings that can react to extreme heat, cold, or humidity. Climate-controlled storage is available at many—but not all—locations, so availability depends on the facility.
Drive-up access refers to a ground-level storage unit that you can pull your vehicle right up to. This makes loading and unloading quicker because you don't need to use hallways, elevators, or stairs. It's often chosen for storing larger items or boxes you'll want to move in and out easily.
Some storage facilities offer 24/7 access as an added feature, while others provide extended access hours. Availability varies by property, so it's best to check your location's access hours when renting a unit.
Common security features include:
• Gated access with individualized entry codes
• Bright lighting throughout the property
• Onsite staff during office hours
• Video surveillance
• Well-maintained fencing and facility grounds
• Storage unit locks available for purchase

Jax is the best she’s so knowledgeable and she actually care about the customers. She make sure that you are satisfied if not she’s gone fix the situation. I was having a hard time because the customer service representative moved me in a small storage unit after telling them I didn’t think my things would fit. I was so upset when I made it to the property and saw that I was right. The person that was working the front desk tried to help but she wasn’t able to. Jax came down I’m not sure where she came from but it was like a angel flew in from heaven she took all my stress into her own hands fixed my problem literally in 10 minutes. If it was a “JAX” at every public storage public storage would be in 1st place ! They forever have me at this location whenever I need.

Marty is the best and she helped me out so much! THANKS MARTY!❤️
She's an awesome person , thank you very much for your great help
To the lady in the office, learn some professionalism and how to talk to people. Stop putting your misery on other people.
I would give negative stars if I could, the lady that works in the office there is rude, pathetic and unprofessional. I mean I understand that you have to address to the people what you can and can’t do on the property. But there is professional way do it, she acts like a “thug” driving around the property, and calling me like “hey you come here” with a finger. I also understand this public storage is in a neighborhood but come-on they just hiring anybody 🤦♂️. Better go to a different one and drive a little bit longer.
Negative stars to the lady who works in the office there, very unprofessional and rude. Should know you just work there, you don’t own the property. Email us professionally, to address any issues. Stop catching us on the street and being rude.
Veronica was very helpful very informative and knowledgeable we really appreciate her
Veronica was excellent the property was very nice and clean and she was very knowledgeable and helpful
Marty helped me out a lot and her smile melted my heart
I had a very pleasant experience at Public Storage especially services provided by Veronica. She was very understanding, helpful and gave excellent customer service.
This is my second time renting with public storage and like always Veronica is awesome and helpful. Place looks very inviting clean and secure right off 360 easily accessible to get back on the highway. I recommend this location for anyone needing storage needs.
Rats!! Started at around $45 up to a year later went up to $77 for a very small rat infested unit. I went to move my things and found rat feces and fur all throughout one of my unsecured boxes of clothes.
Looks like the little Big Ears were using my clothes for a nice twin size bed for themselves. Rat feces had something white on the tail end of them too like parasite egg sacs. I was horrified to see that. Also, the units are directly under the scorching sun. Every time I would go there to get something out of my unit, I was baking under the sun.
The lady that works there is nosey too. She would always come out suspiciously and see what you were doing despite knowing you were renting there. The two times I went up there to see her in the office, she was mysteriously missing but would always be there watching when I only went there for my unit. Too expensive for the rodent infestation.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Veronica at Public Storage, and I couldn’t be more impressed with her professionalism and customer service. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me warmly and made the entire rental process smooth and stress-free.
Would definitely recommend to any one.
Best place to go get a storage. Veronica is the best always greets people and is very personal. Love her customer service.

A1 service!
I drove from almost an hour away because the person that cuts the locks was supposed to be here at a certain time. I needed the lock cut and bought a new lock while waiting. Young lady in the office was super friendly and tried to be as helpful as she could. The man who cuts the locks never showed after waiting for about 2 1/2 hours. That was a few weeks ago. I came back today because their voicemail says they are open. Nobody in office, door locked, lights out and no sign on the door. The golf cart is out and parked in front of the office and the garage door is open. So far, we have been here since 11:45 am and it's now 12:15 pm. I've left a voicemail for the manager about needing to pick up my keys but still have not received a call back yet. I have to just sit here and wait for hours again now, hoping some employee shows up. This is horrible customer service. I would never recommend using this storage facility.
Closed during office hours and hard to contact anyone!!! 🙄
Awesome service Veronica is very nice and helpful!!! She will sort your storage needs!!!
This location is very convenient right off 360 it’s very clean well lite. Veronica was awesome you don’t fine customer service like that any more this is by far the best location I have rented before.

The manager (veronica) was really friendly and helpful
Great service! Veronica gave good customer service.
Veronica is very kind an helpful
Terrible Customer Service Only Worried About Your Money And Never Worried About Helping You Actually Cancel. Ms. "Veronica" Does The Basic For Her Facility And Doesn't Care About The Customers Or That Fact Their Units Leak After Rain Storms On Your Property. Go To Extra Space Storage Or Anyone Else That Isn't Public Storage.
Had some minor hiccups upon my arrival but my stress was short lived as Barry did a phenomenal job providing best in class service, kindness, professionalism and a prompt response. I really appreciate him taking a moment to create a solution that put my mind at ease and made my experience at this facility a pleasant one.
It doesn’t have the numbers on the storages, but hopefully they will fix it.
Tina at the Grand Prairie location was such a blessing and pleasure dealing with. She went out her to help as she could and very kind. Thank you!!
Had an appointment scheduled with Jennifer for 12 o clock and I’ve been waiting here for 40 minutes with no way to reach her. Door is locked, no sign, no call, zero communication. Call center tells me they should have put a sign on the door and to just keep waiting. Complete waste of time.
Jenn literally made my day! I called and she handled my issue with ease and she listened to everything I had to stay, I was super frustrated. She immediately fixed my issue when I arrived and she took extra initiative to better assist me in the future. She was nice, Curtis is and knowledgeable!! This public storage tape is amazing!! Thanks Jenn 👍🏻
