1-Star Review – Public Storage, Westbourne Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio
My experience with Public Storage on Westbourne Drive in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been extremely disappointing. Over the past two and a half years, I have dealt with three different property managers, and unfortunately, my experience with all three has been horrible.
When I originally rented my 10×30 storage unit, my monthly rate was approximately $156. Today, I am paying $380 per month for the exact same unit. That is an increase of $224 per month, or approximately 144% in just two and a half years.
It is frustrating to feel like a company can continually raise your rates simply because you already have your belongings stored there and moving everything somewhere else is a major inconvenience. A rate that starts at $156 and climbs to $380 a month is excessive, and it makes me question how much Public Storage actually values its long-term customers.
What makes this experience even worse is the repeated dissatisfaction I have experienced while dealing with three different property managers. Instead of feeling like a valued customer, I have been left extremely disappointed with the management, customer service, and overall business practices at this location.
Honestly, it makes me question whether the ultimate goal is to keep raising the rent until customers can no longer afford to pay, potentially putting their belongings at risk of being sold, so the company can turn around and rent the unit to the next schmuck at an even higher rate. While I cannot speak to the company’s actual intentions, that is the impression this experience has left me with as a customer.
I understand that businesses have expenses and that prices can change over time. However, increasing a customer’s rent by approximately 144% in two and a half years is outrageous. Customers should not feel trapped into paying whatever price a company decides to charge simply because relocating a large storage unit is expensive, time-consuming, and inconvenient.
Long-term customers deserve fair treatment, transparent communication, and reasonable pricing—not the feeling that their loyalty is being taken advantage of.
Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering renting a unit at this location to carefully review the rental agreement, ask about future rate increases, and compare prices with other storage facilities before committing. Think twice before trusting this company with your belongings for the long term.
Just rented a space and the front desk lady is awesome so sweet and helpful from the vary beginning of us walking in!!!!! The storage it's self is vary spacious clean I recommend this place 1000 percent if your looking to rent a storage space!!!!!!

Glenway storage was great. Public storage not so much. Plenty of time an d money to invest in stickers that say public storage but no time to invest in keypads that work or staff that open the office on time. Can’t open the office on time but find plenty of time and energy to stroll through the building putting stickers that say public storage on every single lock. They claim it’s for “auditing purposes”. I call BS. I bought and paid for my lock. IT BELONGS TO ME NOT PUBLIC STORAGE. But this company has time to deface MY PROPERTY on the daily despite my requests to leave MY PROPERTY alone. They continue to mark every lock in the building like a dog taking a piss on every blade of grass he wants to own. Can’t open the office on time and can’t fix a keypad but hey at least the locks are marked with stickers. Wonder how much the stickers cost. Probably could fix the damn keypad.

Dont rent from here yall there is literally never anyone in the office. That should have been my first red flag when I had to keep going there. Then they charged me twice in a matter of a week and a half. I called and left a voicemail but I’m not going to hold my breathe also dont take the lock. You think it comes with the unit when really they are just not telling you hey we’re going to charge you for that next week. Smh you can ask any questions cuz you can’t get ahold of anyone so im goin to wait a day or so and do a chargeback with my bank cuz no one gave them permission to run my card more than once. I was even on the app and it said i didn’t have to pay til September yet my card was charged twice.THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!

I needed to rent a temporary unit at this facility to stash some extra gear during my travels, and it ended up being a completely average, middle of the road experience. The location is incredibly convenient and easy to access right off the main road, and renting the unit online beforehand was a total breeze. However, when I arrived to load my things, the property felt a bit neglected with some litter blowing around the gate area, and the electronic keypad was being super finicky and took three tries to accept my gate code. It gets the job done if you just need a standard place to lock up your belongings, but don't expect a pristine property or top tier customer service.

I’ve been a customer of Public Storage for a little over 2yrs, with a 5x6 unit. The price has increased without notice a few times now. I began at $51.65 in March 2024. It raised shortly after to $63.61, then again without notice to $78.60. After paying my bill yesterday, I noticed that it increased yet again for next month, this time to $91.54. Move in specials online list 5x5 units for $22 and 5x10 units for $50. That’s a 1ft smaller unit for a 1/4 the price and a 4ft larger unit for almost half of what I currently pay. I left a message at the office with my concerns and received a call back shortly after from Miss DeDe. She was kind, understanding and helpful. She had the issue resolved before even calling me back. Thanks Miss DeDe!

I’m editing my prior review solely for one reason and one reason only Deedee is amazing. She is so kind and efficient, and she genuinely cares about the people she has renting units. I have moved a few times since my previous post so I kept the unit because of various reasons. Thank GOD they have gotten rid of Tsvi….. he was absolutely the worst person to deal with and you could never find him when you went there. Deedee is absolutely amazing and I hope she is around for a long time! If I could give a lower rating I would. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and what I got was a lot of wasted time Tsvi or whatever his name was. Would not list the multiple time that i told him I had rented there before and despite how insanely over priced they are that I need a unit quickly because the apartment I was going to rent fell through. He kept rambling on and on about useless information that i told him I didnt need. I cant stand when someone goes out of their way to take an inordinate amount of time out of your day. If I hadnt expressed my rush more than once due to having to be at work and not finding out till the last minute about having to get a storage unit it wouldnt have upset me but had mentioned it multiple times and he continued to drone on and on. Then calls to ask me if I meant to give the 1 star review. I said yes and he kept asking over and over why. I explained that he wasted my time. Normally i am not one to complain but it took me almost 15 minute to get him to stop on the phone and then it was only because i hung up. Looking somewhere to switch my items to now because I will not continue to be harassed and have my time wasted. Also not wasting my money there they are extremely over priced and the insurance is a joke. My couch and bed alone cost more than the highest tier they offer.

So May/April when I moved … Nothing was Fixed… I have Sarcoidosis a Breathing disorder ..So with the Water and isolation that fell I couldn’t even go into my Storage without coughing, moved out what I could came back the next day to help me locked out want me to pay my last month and then I had insurance on the storage and basically they wanted me submit a bill for everything that was damaged. How can you do that so I’m taking the five stars away. Is poorly handled seeing that the video states that he would take care of it. I’m just saying.

this place is terrible! we haven't even had our unit for 2 years and the rent has gone from $182 to $316! They just rely on the fact that moving all of your things from one storage unit facility to another is a lot of extra work, time and money and people won't want to do it. And the unit itself is crap. all kinds of debris on the ceiling that falls and gets all over your things. We are moving our things immediately! definitely not worth the continued rent increase!

Good place to store your items, I don’t like they increased rent out of nowhere an I have the smallest unit size. Everytime I try to get in the gate I always have issues with my gate code an there is never anyone in the front office you have to schedule to see or talk with someone that is very much a inconvenience however the employee nicki has always been so pleasant and kind her customer service skills are awesome she is always professional she is a good employee she needs to be moved to management!

I had a unit for a short period of time. No issues getting the unit and getting access. There was a bit of a misunderstanding on my part when trying to vacate. But the property manager Nikki was extremely helpful when I explained the situation. She helped me properly vacate and dismissed fees I was getting charged as a result of my misunderstanding. Would definitely go back here if I ever need a unit again.

It is a good location, units are clean. I rent a 5×6 which is more than enough and the price is right.
Overall good, clean facility. I would have given five stars if the cargo elevator was operational and if there were a way for personnel with a wheelchair to access the second floor. However, I will give 5 stars to Harris the site manager! Due to the elevator situation he helped with getting large items down from the second floor; way above his call of duty! Harris, my brother and I greatly appreciated your kindness and willingness to truly help your customers with the circumstances that were presented. Hopefully, this review will help with getting a new cargo/personnel elevator so you can always get the 5 stars you truly deserve. Thanks Again!

I’ve been here almost 2 years, and I always pay on time and the rent just keeps going up now. I’ll be paying $99 for a 5 x 10 unit when all the local competitors charge 36 not to mention all the local competitors keep their areas clean every time I come to my unit this place is a dump with garbage lane all over the place and nobody bothers to pick it up. I pay good money to keep my stuff here not at a landfill I’m at the point where I’ll just take my money elsewhere.
They will keep raising your rent. They know they got you. Price has went up 3 times in 16 months. They are taking advantage of your situation. Watch out.

Absolutely the WORST place ever!! Had 2 units been down to 1 and every time I go to pay, price keeps changing and higher and higher.. 2 units were 239 and mos ago I went to one only and pr Ve has been.. 239.., 269.. and today 319.00
For 1 unit.. and explaination makes NOOOO sense.. mass insulation from ceiling all over our stuff in unit, and U-Haul is half if that .. there is NOOO reason 1 darn unit is that high!!! absolutely horrible!!
I have a smaller outside unit here, the ceiling is literally disintegrating in these units. It gets all over any belongings here. I pay about $70 a month for this unit and I'm getting rid of it this month. It's pretty awful
I wish I could give this place a 0!! I rented from them a few years back and my unit was robbed by the employees. The only reason I know it was them is because they cut off my lock and their lock was was in it's place.
So I did get behind in my payment and I'm thinking that is why they cut my lock off & to rob me!! Well when I went to get caught up I noticed their lock was on my unit. When I had them remove it and I opened the door my lock was on the floor inside the unit cut. ..and the only items left in there was my bedroom furniture. And a few other random pieces of furniture. Everything else was gone. I had a trunk full of family photos and sentimental items from my son who had passed away. TVs and surround sound. My sewing machine All my Christmas decor was gone. Just everything that was in boxes or smaller easy to steal items were all gone. I LOST EVERYTHING. The furniture that was left was covered in a mold. You could see in the very back of the unit there was a spot that had been leaking. I asked to watch the cameras to see who done this and was told they did not have cameras on the inside!! I have never heard of a storage business not having survalience!! I was made to get their insurance when I first got the unit. So I filed a claim. I was told That I didn't have proof I was robbed and that I could have removed the items myself and tried to say I was robbed! Even though I only used the entrance code 2 times since having the unit and that was on the day I put my things in there. Once to get in .and once to leave. This place is a scam!! They will rob you then blame you. I have heard so many stories of this happening here. There are way to many other businesses to give you business to this place. So BEWARE AND STAY FAR AWAY!! Unless you want to lose everything you own to either the mold or being robbed!

They go up on your rent every 6 months, this place is dirty and the staff is ignorant. Go to uhaul storage
Had my unit inside the building and somehow with cameras and security gate and doors my unit was broken into via someone cut the tiny latch on the door to the unit to get the lock off and my stuff was ramaged and no one notified me until the next day... Sounded like an inside job to my opinion. But they DID replace the lock and temp metal covering to prevent the lock from sliding unless u have key to lock. I also noticed the unit right next to mine was broken into the same exact way and then they had purchased their own lock to put on theirs .. I had bought one from the storage clerk when I signed lease agreement papers which was totally way to expensive than just getting one myself... Oh, and concerning the unit and broken latch on door and lock missing ... I was told if I wanted to file a claim to the insurance company then I had to do it on my own ... They dont file them for cutting their latch but I have to for my lock and things... Hmm

There are no lights in the row that my unit is in and other rows. It is completely dark. I do not feel my items are safe and it is not safe to go there in complete darkness.
Had a theft at my unit and was informed that the security camera have not worked for a month a still to this day do not work.September 22nd 2023. Insurance is in the process of denying a claim because lack of video evidence and I video recorded the conversation I had with the front desk while signing my documents. They stated my first month of insurance was covered and free come to find out I’m not covered.
So feel free to steal and rob from anyone you want bc nothing will happen to you. Information came from the regional and district levels of public storage.
There was a women living in a unit using the restroom in it as well at one point. Perhaps not now but I was informed about it by the staff.

When to clean out our storage about a month ago all of our furniture was ruined and our king size platform bed and mattress was ruined you could see the water stains on the wood and mattress we bags and boxes of wet clothes along with mice and we even watched someone drive a 26 ft uhaul into the corner of the builder where at until was and even after paying on time every month they wanted to raise the price up and it wasn't worth it dearcat storage is way better and cheaper

Should be 0 stars. Mice got in to my storage unit. The owner cut my lock off and threw mouse killer in there to try to get rid of them (forced me to pay for replacement lock he put on before I could have the new key). Never informed me of the issues so now everything in my unit is ruined by mice, mold and water damage. Owner refuses to help clear out my unit I’ve been over paying for (they raise they price every few months). Have to pay for junk removal to clear it out.
Update- received a call from someone higher up than Tsvi who saw my negative review, again offered no help removing everything ruined in the unit or compensation for the cost of junk removal. By the way, submitted insurance claim for around $4,000- their insurance max pay out for rodent damage is $275. This didn’t even cover the cost I had to pay the junk removal company.

PLEASE DO NOT RENT A STORAGE UNIT HERE! MY BELONGINGS WERE ONLY HERE FOR A MONTH... MY TV IS STOLEN, MY 2500 Pc Computer is stolen, ALL OF MY SHOES AND CLOTHES STOLEN. I AM SO AGGRAVATED NO ONE could show us any camera footage. also another tenant said someone got into their storage and peed on their mattress. Tsiv in the office did nothing at all to help us, please beware of this storage.
