Sign up was quick and easy, and both Sales Representatives were really pleasant. The place is super clean and overall im pretty happy with it, after a day. My only gripe so far is no garbages anywhere to throw away small pieces of Trash. And the Unit it's self is kind of hard to see in, as there's no light inside the unit it's self. I previously Rented from I storage and my Unit there had a separate light you could turn on and off.

** Latest Update ** 01/31/22 Was contacted by the District Manager, Aaron, and after some discussion, we were able to come to an agreeable compromise, which I really appreciate. ** UPDATE ** Just got an email about a rate increase for 2022.... it's going up by $17.00 per month!! They have steadily increased my monthly payment by a few dollars here and there, but this is absolutely ridiculous. $107 per month, for a 5X5 unit. It's my fault for being so naive and complacent, but that ends now. After looking at the Public Storage website I still had a couple questions about the unit I would be renting, so I called the Customer Service phone number. I spoke with a friendly rep named Shawna (sp?), who was helpful in answering my questions. As she (I'm assuming) is trained to do, she got my information in the system so she could reserve a unit for me. The website was offering an "Online Only" promotion of $34 per month and first month only $1. Of course I know these are specials offered, in order to entice customer's into renting at that specific location and most likely, that's not what you'll actually end up paying. I'm aware. However; upon making the reservation with Shawna and clearly expressing that price was definitely something I was concerned about, she advised the price would actually be $42 per month and $1 for the first month because the specific units that were still available were not part of that promotion. Ok, $8.00 more per month, I'll deal. I thanked Shawna and we hung up. Shortly thereafter I received a call from whom I believe is the Store Manager, Tres, and we set up an appointment time to come look at the unit. Once we arrived at the store, he was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable in answering any questions and also in trying to up-sell the unit size, after hearing what all we had to store. We did keep the original size, but Tres did a great job in all facets. Here's where it took a turn and why I rated '3' Stars and not '5'.... When the time came to sign the rental paperwork, Tres advised me that insurance on the unit is mandatory, with the minimum charge of $11 per month added to the rate. Additionally; a Public Storage "approved" lock is added to the bill, at $22.00!!! I asked if I could provide my own lock and Tres said unfortunately; it's their policy that the customer arrive on-site with said lock if they want to provide their own, at the time of rental agreement signing. This would have been really good information to know, PRIOR to coming in to check out the unit. We stopped in to sign on the way to meeting our movers and were on a tight schedule, otherwise just for the pure principle of it, I would have located a different storage location. There were multiple opportunities to inform me of these extra mandatory charges before I arrived to sign, yet they were never advised. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth, in additional to what seems to be "false advertising" between what the website offers and what is actually available. I wish this hadn't happened, because Tres did a great job and I would have loved to give a 5-star rating. If it were based solely on him, I would have for sure!

You can’t find better service! Bob, the manager, at this location is one of the most helpful and honest individuals that I have ever met. Twice I have sought him out regarding billing issues and twice he has effectively resolved everything for me. He has even assisted me with my Public Storage unit located in Florida. This is the Public Storage site to use in the Detroit suburbs!
