I have a lot of experience with securing self storage with many of the different storage companies in the Santa Clara area; some experiences good and some just out right the worst. My experience yesterday at the public storage at 1955 Lafayette in Santa Clara was by far the best exceeding my expectations. Here are the highlights of my rental experience: Personal phone call and introduction by the property manager after I had made my reservation online. He gave me the highlights of the storage property and what I can expect and wanted to know if I had any questions and if there were any concerns once I got to the property and make sure I always let him know and he When I arrived at the storage location the manager Tim was there to greet me and give me a personal tour he gave me a short lesson/tutorial on the public storage app made sure my storage unit door and lock was working properly and that I knew how to work everything. The facility who was extremely well maintained due to the personal ownership of Tim and site manager and the pride he takes in providing a clean safe storage solution to his customers. When Tim tells you if you have any concerns or issues or questions to come let him know, so he can address it immediately he sincerely means it. It was really enjoyable to see somebody take pride in their job ownership of their environment and commitment to their customers. Thank you very much for such an enjoyable easy rental experience

Tim helped me move in and was super helpful, professional, and calm despite having to take other phone calls. He walked me through the process of accessing my storage unit. He made sure that he was there for me should I have any questions or need help.

I was planning to move to a bigger unit space and wasn't sure if there was one available. Tim was always a key to the smooth process despite the busy weekend and still showed me one unit space, and I decided to take it right away. The transfer was so easy and just moved my locks to the new one. He's always above and beyond in what he does because even if it was time for him to go home he still took care of another lady. What a great multitasking skill and customer service he has . INDEED a valuable asset to this company. I went here to pick up my Mom's new key since they updated the locks but the Prop Mgr. Tim said I can't give you the new keys unless the person in the account is here with you even if I had my Mom's ID and I was willing to call her he said come back tomorrow. I understand he was doing his job protecting the property in case it's an unauthorized entry. While in the office he made me download the PS APP and WOW! I'm impressed it's pretty easy, the next day I came with my Mom he even apologized for not giving me the key day before. Very professional guy just doing his awesome customer service. He personally showed us how to use the new system it was contactless entry and more secure. Thanks TIM!

Store 1955 - I have been using the manual system for some time now and it has always been a hassle to look up my pin but luckily today Tim (property manager) noticed it took me some time to get into the building. Tim approached me to let me know about the company’s app and showed me how great, quick and easy it is to open the doors and call the elevator through the app without entering my code every single time! This is going to be a huge help on my trips, Thank you Tim!

Been here for a month now and the experience has been absolutely great. Starting from the first day, Tim was a gracious host and personally took me around the property and explained how everything worked. He was patient in showing me different size units until I landed in one that I really liked. He explained to me his upkeep/maintenance schedule of the property and I was very impressed by his dedication. As we were leaving, he made sure that my phone app was set up properly to function as a means of getting in. Over the last month I have been able to get historical data of the temperature for the climate controlled units, and I am happy to say that the temperature is maintained very well. I am very satisfied with my experience so far and would recommend renting units at this property.

Tim helped me and was very nice, answered questions, and provided advice. Friendly both over the phone and in person. I haven't moved in yet, but seems like a very well run facility.

Tim was proactive in calling me about my reservation and provided me with much useful info needed when making a reservation. I felt comfortable in my decision to rent a unit from this location and then he took and provided me the extra time I needed at the end of his day to show me the units available and make my reservation before he left for the evening. This location was renovated recently, including a security upgrade, which is a positive change. I spoke with the manager, Tim, regarding the changes to the locks on the units and building and I got the sense that he goes above and beyond to keep his facility clean and the customers happy. I rented a unit on 10/2021, with per month rent $107. They raised the rent aggressively every a few months. Now the new rent is $190.

He cancelled my old unit, suggested a new one, and even helped me dispose of a few small items as I moved items from my old unit into the new. He's a pleasure to talk to and is always lending a helping hand. 5 stars for the customer service here! +++++++++++++++ I came in today because I misplaced my keys to my unit. Sheila helped me contact the district manager, cut the old lock off, get a new lock all in the same day! I’ve been a customer here for over 4 years so she even went as far as requesting a rate reduction for my unit. She was very kind and attentive to my needs, 5 stars for her customer service!

This is a fantastic storage place with an awesome property manager. I moved my stuff to this branch after the Cupertino one closed for refurbishment, forcing us to move. We were frustrated and initially considered it an inconvenience but it turned out to be really great in the long run. The storage is climate controlled and immaculately maintained. As soon as we entered the property, the manager Tim greeted us with a big smile and walked us through the whole process. He helped me install the app, showed us how to use it to open the doors and elevators, and accompanied us all the way to our storage. The storage itself was spotless and smelled crisp clean. We have since visited the storage multiple times and have found the place clean, well-lit, well-maintained, and the staff, especially Tim, always greeting us with a big genuine smile, calling us by our names, and always there to help. I don't usually write reviews but with this level of service and hospitality, I had to. Highly recommended.

Not being present when the shipment was arriving was going to be problematic, but Tim explained the level of security, the ease of transition and the steps necessary through the app to walk the shippers through the facility with access codes. He also followed up after the booking to confirm and personally, offering his assistance if I had any questions. Really excellent customer service and leaves the customer with confidence that the facility is safe and secure.

I rented the space in 2019, and hadn't been back since covid lockdown. Tim is such a pleasant upgrade to this facility! He was so helpful when I came to pick up my new key. He walked me through the steps of downloading the app, showed me how to use it to access my space, went with me to show me how to open and secure the new lock, and when I realized I needed a cart, after declining when he asked me before going to my space, he volunteered to go back downstairs and get one for me. Tim's awesome!

We needed a storage unit for work on very short notice. Of all the storage facilities we visited, this property was by far the cleanest, the most well-organized, the best managed. The manager at this location, Tim, was extraordinarily helpful and proficient. It's clear the success of this operation owes a lot to his diligence and customer focus. We have not regretted our choice. Couldn't recommend this facility more highly.

I’m so glad I chose this location to house my mothers things, it’s well kept, clean, secure, and Tim is the BEST! I’m not familiar with these keyless entries so it was such a big help when the Manager Tim explained the process and made sure mom and I were proficient with these keypads. I can clearly see the cameras and the keypads are always clean and working properly. I feel safe here. There is plenty of parking and plenty of carts to load and offload. Carts are kept clean and work perfectly as well. Money well spent for sure!

Tim is ALWAYS super helpful, from payment plans to repeatedly having to show me how to use the app to open the door. Edit: Came to upgrade to a bigger space and Tim was there to streamline the process.

Property Manager Tim at 1955 Lafayette in Santa Clara is super helpful when it comes to moving in AND moving out. He’s super knowledgeable and takes care of the whole building! He makes sure you’re alerted to any changes he notices on the outside of your unit (additional lock added, etc.). I’m moving my things to another Public Storage and I wanted to make sure I knew the move out procedures so I went in and asked what to expect. excellent services by tim the store manager if i can give a 10 star then I would. This guy was angel during a crisis i had. I recently met with an accident and had to end up vacating the rental apartment and fly out of country to stay with my family, to get home care and support. both my hands and back were injured. the accident was emotionally and mentally very taxing and I was temporarily disabled having to rely on others for help. there were so many things i had to close out and I literally had 2 days before catching my flight. I booked this place last minute and had to plan the storage move late in the evening, next day morning was my flight. no room for delays and I was very worried. unfortunately we got locked out in the middle of the move. It is thanks to people like tim who went above and beyond to help me sort it. he understood my situation, showed compassion and willingness to help even after his shift was over. which truly shows an exceptional customer service. I was able to complete the move and fly on time and get the needed medical help. This guy comes with a golden heart which is very rare these days. he sees you like a family member and steps up if needed just so your needs are met. he has got your back. what more can you ask? Tim you earnt my respect and honor. god knows what would have happened if I chose a different place. The property manager (Tim) was courteous, knowledgeable, helpful & caring to my needs & questions. Before I signed the agreement, Tim followed up with me a few times to make sure my questions were answered and that I was offered all options to choose from. He is on assignment, knows the place, provides clear & complete instruction, and is remarkably client oriented.

I've been a tenant at this location for 15 years. Tim, the new on-site manager, is fantastic. He's friendly, conscientious, and really cares about his tenants. The property has also seen some nice renovations in the past year, including new HVAC and security upgrades.

I was a customer of Public Storage on 1955 Lafayette Street for over a year. I decided it was time to go and Tim (property manager) has been so incredibly helpful with the move-out process. I recently became partially disabled and was unable to handle a lot of the moving out parts myself and was afraid I was not going to be able to handle it. Tim came through for me and helped me move out with ease. I couldn’t do it without his help. If I ever need storage needs again, I will use Public Storage in a heartbeat. The facility is extremely safe and secure and Tim in particular maintains it so it is SPOTLESS. Give this guy a raise, he is a godsend.

I was at the public storage for few months and Tim who is the the manger has always been super helpful. He is very professional and courteous. I had some issues moving in and moving out and he went out of his way to resolve them and see that i was a satisfied customer. I have rented few storage units in nearby vicinity but most storage units try to pull you in with good deals and but once you are in you are stuck at the mercy of the staff to get anything done. In case of Tim he was helpful from the time i was there to the time i left the unit. I will highly recommend public Storage at Lafayette.

I came to get some things out of my storage, only to find that management had changed their locks. I went to the office where I was greeted by Tim. Very welcoming. I had asked about the locks being changed. And he said they updated it for security purposes. Understandable. The place is a lot more secure than last time. And you can use an app to enter the building instead of punching in your long pin. Tim helped explain the whole process and definitely made things a lot easier and more secure. I've enjoyed my time (2 years) with the Public Storage in Santa Clara on Lafayette St. The site's recent upgrades are top notch and provide a clean and secure place to store your personal items. Tim the property manager is as about as helpful a person as I've met in awhile. His level of customer focus is high as one could ask for. I would recommend this particular Public Storage and would use them again if I the need arises in the future.

Tim helped me out today when I had no clue what I was doing. Super helpful and kind person.

I've been a long time customer of the 1955 Lafayette Public Storage (>10 years). This is a large, very clean, air conditioned facility. Features a very large loading/parking area, so no problems for truck access. In June 2021, they completed facility-wide improvements, including changing all units to a higher security lock - it's a lock cylinder integrated into the door latch which can't be cut off. The access-controlled security area was extended to the exterior doors, and you can access using PS's mobile app as well. The current site manager, Tim, is really great. Very friendly, hardworking, and genuinely dedicated to making this facility the best. I would give this storage facility a high rating at any time I've been a client - climate control and cleanliness have always made this a first-class place. With the new updates and really dedicated facility manager, I have no reservations giving a high recommendation.

This storage facility is kept clean and organized. Tim, the manager, is very helpful and escorted me to my unit, also helping me transport my items. He was very concerned about safety and very friendly. I am excited to come back to this facility!

Location was recently remodeled and it looks great and CLEAN. Tim was in the middle of cleaning when I arrived to pick up my keys and he stopped and accompanied me to my locker. He was very informative about the new app and what they had remodeled. He CARES about customer service!

Tim is fabulous. He helps me through the storage showing me how the app works and walking me through. He is very professional, honest, and very hard working man. I saw how well he works with every one as I waited for him to help me. In my opinion, he works hard and goes above and beyond what's necessary.

I've had a storage space with Public Storage since 2002. Yeah, a LONG time! I've been at the 1955 Lafayette location for about 10 years. During the pandemic year, the location was completely remodeled, and everything was made high-tech. You can zap yourself in with a phone app, there are new locks on the spaces, and everything is spotless and in perfect working condition. Getting a cart is a piece of cake now, and there are plenty of them. We can thank the new manager, Tim, for these excellent upgrades. Moving stuff to storage today-- a job I had been putting off-- was honestly pleasant this time!

Tim was so incredibly helpful. Walked me through all the ins and outs of registration...I definitely would have messed something up registering without him! Renting confidently from this place after that great experience.

Tim at 1955 Lafayette was great! Upon arrival he noticed I was totally lost and offered to direct me to my storage unit. He carried some of my things back to my car and helped me finish up closing the unit properly. Kept the space super clean and runs a tight operation.

Tim was a great help to me! He allowed me to put a U-Haul Ubox shipping container in the parking lot for a day so I could easily move my stuff out of my storage unit. The storage facility feels secure. The building is climate controlled, and the unit is only accessible when the office is open.

Tim, the manager for this location, is beyond helpful. Called up the location about a week and a half before needing my storage unit and he helped me get everything set up while over the phone. When I arrived to the storage unit he was very friendly and showed me to my unit and gave me all the information I needed to know. The premises is very well kept as well. Beyond that it is exactly what you expect from a storage unit locationCould not recommend this Public Storage location anymore!

If I could give Tim 10 stars I would. Our unit had an attempted break in - the latch was completely bent and the area around it was scratched up. He came promptly to help us open the unit and fixed the lock. Tim informed us that the facility was going to change the type of locks they used to help with security. He turned it from an alarming incident where we would have seriously considered moving our unit to another facility to us deciding to remain at Public Storage. He genuinely cares about his customers.

I have been a unit holder of the Santa Clara location for.over 10 years. Until this year, I have been thinking of moving to a different facility. It seems like no one was around to fix the broken front doors and other facility concerns. Tim, the onsite manager has been taking care of business and I have seen many improvements and feel much more secure than in the past. Tim is always available to answer and question or concern that I have. Tim is very outgoing and helpful to make sure if I have any need, it is addressed. His proper name is Tim, but you can think of him as ‘Good Neighbor Sam.’ What a genuine mensch, a man for all seasons - the guy you walk away from saying, “What a guy!” During this era of mankind, it becomes rarer than a Bigfoot siting at a Nordstrom coffee lounge to find a person who lives to serve such as Tim at Public Storage (1955 Lafayette), Santa Clara. Tim was attentive to our plight and offered to help us in numerous ways while taking us back to the office vicinity for bathroom breaks. [He keeps the restroom so clean and well supplied!] Tim shared experiences of others who are similarly trying to achieve a break-through in the reduction of long-held items that are no longer (if ever) enriching lives. After 14 months in a Pandemic-controlled world we were finally able to return to the Bay area and, in particular, our storage unit full of the vim and vigor required to give the heave-ho to this painting, that candlestick or egads that outrageous hat/jacket/scarf that I will never wear again. Tim came along, conducting his rounds and general checks on both the property and the storage units and he had the decency, if not graciousness, to inquire how we were doing, sympathetic to the fatigue factor associated with disengaging from our multi-year relationship with all that a 14 x 20 portends. Ladders, glassware, bedding, books, under appreciated paintings, clothing, appliances, collectibles, and a spirited rocking horse that prays to give another ride - this and more have been well maintained for the six months that became five years in just the blink of an eye. With Tlm’s answers to our questions, we felt considerably better that we knew the extent of the cleaning required to vacate a unit in good standing and how we would manage the inevitable debris resulting from consolidating three boxes into just one. Sometimes one needs an unbiased, independent voice to weigh in on simple matters that come from working too doggedly close to the proverbial grindstone. Tim was the breath of fresh air And ideas we needed, a genuine article of good faith among our fellow men during this hopeful season of the post-pandemic apocalypse.

Finding the right storage facility with the right pricing could be a daunting task. But when you find someone like Tim who makes sure to give you the best customer service ever, it makes your quest much easier and smoother. Tim is very exceptional. He goes above and beyond to ensure your experience is seamless and rewarding. If I can give him more stars I would have. Thank you Tim.

On this stressful day when it seemed like nothing was going right i walked in to public storage feeling like I was going to get the run around once again and Tim was right there to help me out the whole way through the renting process with a smile on his face let's just say I felt very welcomed thanks Tim you brightened up my day!

The most phenomenal customer service I’ve ever experienced. Tim was very social and made me feel welcome to a town I’ve never visited. I was trying to get up to the storage unit for about 30 minutes when Tim came and helped me with getting up to the storage unit. Even though he was very busy, he took the time out of his shift to even help me move stored units to my car and pack them nicely inside.
