When I got to the storage unit this morning it was locked and I couldn’t get into my new unit. I waited an hour for the team to show up and I’ll be honest I was not happy. Jackie greeted me with a huge smile and everything melted away. She was professional and genuinely kind while showing me the new unit and explaining the best practices. Although there is a HUGE crack on the floor, which she was nice enough clean, I’m going to have to accept the unit because I need the space in my house for our new puppies arrival today. I wish the manager would have told me the unit was messed up and it was the last one. I would have went somewhere else.

Great place to rent a storage unit, pretty big and lots of options to choose from. Was renting a second unit at the same location and ran into problem with the automatic unit assignment. Sad to see businesses taking advantage of customers. Prices raised but hours reduced. Used to be 9 pm before. How can they unilaterally change the hours? Also, can't depend on restroom being available.

Good and safe place for storage. Large space and fewer people at this storage location. It is quiet here, I like the environment. 2 large elevators available which is good for moving things upstairs.

This was a 5 star storage facility, but shady rate increases bring it all the way to one star for me.
I got a notice in the mail (less than a month in advance) that my rate would be increasing by over $100. This was painful enough that I went looking for a new place to rent. For the heck of it, I checked the rate of another unit of the same size at this location and it's renting for $100 less than my original rate!?!?
Denise helped me make a well informed decision. She was super friendly and made renting here a great experience!

I've called many storage places around the area but no one has followed up with me or give the service as Nasira at the Newark location. Highly recommend.
It seemed like a secure place but no. The fire department access lock is broken so anyone can open the gate without code. Plenty of evidence of theft. At least 3 vehicles broken into and catalytic converter stolen. I'm closing my account and emptying my space.

Normally they're fine, but most recently my RV was broken into, along with other vehicles near mine. Also my access code stopped working for some reason and I got stranded inside the facility with no staff available during working hours. I had to be saved by another patron coming into the facility. Also I had delayed access once due to construction blocking the entry, and the secondary gate didn't open even when staff tried it.
Edit: After raising complaints with management they refunded my last months rent after I moved out of my space. 👍

We stopped by the front desk, the lady introduced the facility well. She is friendly and patient. We applied the space online and got a good rental price. Accessing to the gate is easy after downloading the APP. We chose the climate control space.

Office staff subscribe to a culture of mediocrity: 2 of the last 3 times I’ve come by to rent a cart, they haven’t been at the front office. This last time they didn’t even leave a be back in x number of minutes sign. They never answer the phone number listed on their door. Their hours aren’t listed on the door. The restroom is always a disaster. They don’t like putting paper in there because they are too lazy to clean it up. They will raise rates as soon as possible on you. Their hours are ridiculous if you’re a working person.

My truck got broken in at this place they stole some items and leave lot of miss I taught it’s safe and secure place like they said at the website the problem is like in this big cooperation public Storge no cameras at the parking area company like public storage should be cameras and alarms every where people pay lot of money to park there expensive vehicles.
Cost me almost 1000.00 dollars the fix the problem 500.00 dollars for the window at the Volvo dealer and 500.00 to install it the bottom line I will not even think about public storage in my life again or mention it all to someone I will look for small owners storage it will be more safe and secure most of them have security patrol at night

What's "respect for all customers"?
Closing time for access to storage went from 9pm to 6pm. In summer, daylight is until 9 pm and people do a lot of work in the evenings. I signed up for 9 pm, but can't do anything about it.
Bathroom is "out of order" consistently for last two years. Can't do anything about it.
Office hours have been made even shorter so you can't get the key to carts during those off hours. Can't do anything about it.
On top of this, my rate went up from $264 to $358. That's 35% in one shot. This place is using COVID and inflation to reduce services drastically and increase prices astronomically.

This is a very clean indoor three floor storage space. The temperature is controlled so my books and clothes are keep dry. No dust in this storage space. The security is excellent with multiple gates.

This is my first time getting a storage unit and Nasira was such a sweet lady that walk me through everything ..... can't thank her enough for helping me and my partner!!!
This place is not at all what I thought.It is poorly managed. there's usually cars abandoned RVs or trailers that are in the parking lot. there's two separate locations with two separate gates. You have to use the elevator to get onto your floor, there are two elevators for five floors, which is not enough elevators, especially if one or both of them are out. no notice of changing hours. they used to have dollies you could use while you were here, now they are locked up. The bathroom is usually locked. People come thru gate without entering code, which usually means they dont belong here.I would definitely not recommend this place

My rv trailer got broken-in in less than one month parking with them. On the same day same thing happen to the other trailers located there. The area is not safe. After communicating with the police, he menteioned that this is normal around this location and those break-in keeps happening. Public storage wasnt very helpful. on the same day not having a place to take a trailer police suggested moving the rv someplace else as this could potentially happen again. after asking if any precaution would be taken by public storage they said nothing would be done to address this thing. After this whole stress I had to find another place to store my rv as another situation could happen. I would use the place store anything.

Renting experience was smooth. Nasira was very helpful and super patient with our reservation. She led us to the unit, did final cleans and taught us with the door lock operation step by step.
1.) Rates keep increasing and the closing time for access to storage went from 9pm to 6pm. However, there remains a sign on the gate that says it closes at 6pm. This is not what i signed up for.
2.) Bathroom on site continues to be out of order for past couple weeks. Attendant continues to state "work order has been placed".
Last week I left 20 minutes late (I wasn't aware of the new 6pm closing and I had to leave to find a bathroom offsite, otherwise i would have left way before 6pm). Soon after last week I received an email telling me that I left late - that's fair.
Today they left me a voice mail message to please call TODAY "about an important matter in regards to space". I call back, concerned that there is a problem with my storage spaces - No... it's about leaving 20 mintues late the week before which I have already received the email. I ask about whether the bathroom has been repaired... naturally it's not - but "work order has been placed". This is the "important matter" regarding my space?!!!
This would have been a 4 star review had it not been for above.
3/17 Update: I've changed my initial rating of ** to ****.
Regional management graciously called to discuss. Apparently the hours were shortened for security reasons but they are considering changing back to longer hours; bathroom should be available
AND (most important!) my rental rates have been lowered significantly. (Apparently one can request a rate review!).

This was a great experience in so many ways! The property is well lit and secure, and the staff is what keeps me coming back! Shabeena is the best and really knows her customer service! She is extremely helpful and makes renting a unit at 22329 an almost painless experience! And Kayla also extremely helpful and friendly.
Supportive staff.
Stored a vehicle here for about 4 months and it was broken into and rummaged throughout. No sense of accountability from the management when it happened and I was left to deal with the consequences. I don't recommend it.
Thank you for the experience at this storage I had nothing broken it to, aswell it felt safe everytime I had come to get my things. The front desk manager Nasira was always very helpful with information regardings to the storage. Hopefully to do business again in the future.

I TRUSTED THIS PLACE AND ALL THE MANAGERS NASHIRA/SHABEENA THAT THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF MY CAR. BUT THEY DID NOT. INSTEAD THEY WERE RUDE AND NASTY AND KEEP ON HANGING THE PHONE. THEY DONT WANT TO BE BOTHERED.

This was a very unpleasant experience from the beginning. NOTE-they will not prorate your rent. We moved out on the 4th when we got our new house and had to pay a full month's rent. It's hit or miss whether or not the office is open, and they are not pleasant to work with when they are there. If you call the main line for help, they will send you all over town to their other locations looking for open offices. Those offices are often closed as well. The gates close early at 6 p.m., so it's difficult to go in for any length of time after work. We went in one evening looking for an item my daughter had mistakenly packed and were locked in at 5:55. We had to wait on hold for 10 minutes to get help getting out of the gate. Then they sent nasty messages about their gate hours like we were criminals. Despite this "security", we found marks on our lock that looked like someone tried to cut it off not long after we moved in. If we didn't have a 3-bedroom house worth of storage in our unit, we would have moved out the first month. We were just stuck because of the cost to move so much stuff elsewhere. :/
Not a secure storage facility - I rented here earlier this year and my unit was (quite easily) broken into and 2/3 of my items stored there were stolen. I learned from this experience that they have very few cameras anywhere on site, the units are easily broken into once you start to think about the lack of security measures, they are not aware of what is happening at their site, and ultimately they do not care if your stuff is stolen. Multiple units were broken into at the time my unit was robbed. I didn’t have any particularly expensive / attractive items for thieves, but the damage adds up when you have to repurchase them. Even after it was broken into, it was going to take them weeks to repair the entry points so you need to be able to move your stuff immediately (something I was unable to do) to secure your remaining items again. I would never use this storage facility again; if you do, make sure to take pictures and record everything in there, and don’t store anything that you’re not okay with being stolen. The insurance did come through after a lot of time spent on the claim.
