Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 1604 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA

My husband and I chose this storage place over another slightly cheaper option because of the friendly and knowledgeable gal at the front desk! She was professional yet personable and friendly, making us feel confident that our belongings will be safe and secure. We truly appreciated her excellent service. She is the reason we decided to do business here!

Just signed up for a small 4x4 for our Christmas stuff. David the manager on site is sooo nice and helpful. He was extremely responsive and made the process easy and affordable. Great location near TJs😀 and happy to have clear closets now!! Thank you David!!

Everything went very smoothly, I paid the first month when I signed the agreement and downloaded the app. Once the lease started I drove up to the facility, opened my app, unlocked the front gate and unloaded my stuff. It happened exactly as they told me. A very nice, clean facility!

I recently rented a storage unit at this location. I was very pleased with how clean it is. I always felt safe coming and going. Susanna, the manager, was very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend this location.

My wife and I switched from a large storage room to a smaller one earlier today at the facility on Newport Blvd and the on-site manager, Susannah, was very helpful every step of the way. She made sure I was refunded for the lock I purchased for the storage room I vacated and she also took the time to show me how I could use the Public Storage app. to exit the site more quickly and efficiently. My sense is that she really cares about the customers and that she tries to do the best for us that she can. Keep up the good work! Mark Perman

Read the fine print on their lease agreement. My monthly payment went from $250 to $320. Public Storage can and obviously will increase your monthly payment whenever they feel like it

Can I start off by saying I would give this place a 5 star only and if only Susana worked here 24/7. Every single time I have needed help, she knows what to do. I have seen her in another location doing desk work for this location and other locations. She is dedicated to helping everyone and she makes it personal. It feels like I have known her forever, she is so kind. However, let me say why I gave this place a 4 star. It has gotten 2 major break in's since I've gotten the storage place. I've seen people living in this location, and it's easy since no one works at the actual location unless something happens..then they send someone over. I go on weekends more so to get and drop off things that I use for work. I often come across Susana there, and she is always smiles. Please have Susana stay at this location, and have it open for her to work there. This place needs attention, and Susana clearly cares. I've come across other workers multiple times, and they have been short and annoyed, but not Susana. Have I said Susana enough? I think it is important to give good people shout outs. It's not easy in this world, so thank you for hiring someone with a good heart.

I am a victim of this facility as my unit was broken into and many items stolen and filed a police report. The investigator explained that thieves break into this facility on a regular basis because there isn't any onsite security. As many as 30 units are broken into each time and the thieves can spend hours inside as there are no cameras to complete their work. It has the appearance of being secure with gate codes and cameras outside, but it is not. Thieves can come and go as they please with a gate code, which every customer gets and it's only when a customer visits the facility to find their unit vandalized do they find out about it. The thieves rent a unit online under a fake name and stolen credit card. Then they get the access codes and have full reign in the facility. I learned that the locks don't work as the doors can be easily pried off the tracks and the doors opened, which bypasses the locks. If you are considering storing here, then you should look elsewhere. Definitely not a Public Storage, but another facility that has an onsite 24/7 security guard. Otherwise you'll be a victim just like me.

Only a fool would store their stuff here. Met a Public Storage manager that oversees this location. Found out it gets hit every 3-4 months by thieves and the customers aren't ever notified about it. Sounded like an inside job from existing staff. Customers only eventually find out if they come to the facility and see their unit tossed. At least 20 units get broken into, tossed and anything over a $100 in value stolen every 3-4 months. Very easy for thieves to bypass the locks and get inside each unit. The last theft lasted 2+ hours with thieves going from unit to unit taking their time and loading up their truck. Again, only a fool would store their stuff here.

Great clean location. High rental rates and the raise them every year. Easy access with their phone app. The location is safe and very secure. After this post, I received a call from management. They were very understanding to my post and offered a review of my monthly fee. I'm happy to say that my fee was adjusted to my surprise.

Super nice staff. Great place, clean and secure. Would do it again in a snap.
