It’s been dacades since I used a storage place, how times have changed. It was so easy to rent a space and it was so accessible and easy to get in to the establishment. Also, it’s so convenient and close by from where I live…I love it!
I was delighted by the service given by Debbie, who took the time to personally show me around, answer everything, make sure I was taken care of. Please, give her a raise already.

I signed an agreement that clearly states rate increases would happen with 30 days’ notice. Despite that, in just one year my rate has increased over 40%, which is completely unreasonable and feels predatory.
To make matters worse, I am paying for a climate-controlled unit that is not climate controlled. In the winter, the building is freezing. In the summer, it’s unbearably hot. That completely defeats the purpose of paying extra for climate control.
I’ve raised this issue with the company before and nothing has been done. No resolution, no accountability, just continued price hikes.
Between the excessive rate increases and the failure to provide the service being advertised and paid for, I cannot recommend this facility to anyone.
I had another outstanding experience with All My Sons Moving & Storage during my move in Raleigh, NC on December 8, 2025. This is the third time I have used All My Sons over the past few years, and once again they completely exceeded expectations.
My three-man team — Rashaun, Brandon W., and Ryan — was exceptional from start to finish. They were personable, professional, and incredibly efficient. They handled every piece of furniture and every box with real care, making sure everything was protected and moved safely. They made what could have been a stressful day feel easy and well-managed.
This move involved clearing out my apartment and transporting everything to a local Public Storage facility, and the team executed the entire process flawlessly. Their attention to detail, positive attitudes, and commitment to doing the job right really stood out.
All My Sons continues to earn my trust, and this crew was a perfect example of why I keep coming back. Highly recommended.

Debra provided outstanding service by walking me through each unit in person, clearly explaining the size, pricing and current promotion. She was incredibly thorough, professional, and respectful throughout the entire process. Truly exceptional customer care - 5 out of 5 stars!
Terrible experience this time...I wanted to put a unit on hold like I have 2X prior, however, I was not able to login to my PS account so I called customer service. The 1st representative proceeded to request all the same info that was available in my new reservation. I gave her the #. When I asked about putting my reservation on hold or when the payment will occur the phone mysteriously dropped 😒. I called customer service again and the 2nd representative was able to assist but they didn't place the reservation on HOLD. Today I canceled my reservation after going on-site to make the request and was told I must pay the admin fee of $29.00. I did not move in and I had difficulty signing up from the start. I would not have called customer service if my account worked. As a repeat customer due to my work, this is not a way to treat frequent customers or keep them. My reservation should have been a hold as advertised on the website vs charged in advance of moving into a unit. When renting make sure you place a hold if your dates are not fully determined.

Although I got a good price for renting earlier than needed, the cons are many (especially since I was planning to get the advertised size). Now I think I will most likely need to find another or extra place outside that location.
Con 1: got smaller than advertised. Rented a 5x10 ft and got 4.83 x 8.66 ft unit.
Con 2: No onsite manager to list alternatives unit numbers so you can at least measure them from the outside. The closest manager is in far location and doesnt answer the phone and called me once before I sign the contract offering to schedule a tour while scaring you that the unit price reservation may not last if you dont sign the contract online (first come first serve).
Con 3: after you see the unit (after you book it online), they discourage you from changing units by charging more. They charge at least a refundable new key fee and maybe a spot price difference of the same unit dimensions.
Con 4: They curbs the vertical clearance between 99 and 11 inch (such that a ladder can be used to peep into your unit from above). My previous place had longer side walls to give more clearance and privacy.
Con 5: I found a closer facility from the same company with a better price but they dont allow to switch between locations.
Con 6: Im only guaranteed 1 or 2 months ahead that price will not change (what ever 30 day notice means in actuality). My last place allowed me 4 to 6 months price lock in (with or without prepayment).
Con 7: I found having a onsite manager encourage more friendly treatment than online staff who seem to be stressed about the issues arising from their unfamiliarity about the details of the specific location.
Con 8: what self storage building doesn't have dollies or carts at the entrance. I will take more trips wasting time, energy, and electricity (elevator + more times opening the door).
This Public Storage goes above and beyond to provide customers with a safe and reliable storage facility. The app is easy to use. The facility is clean and comfortable. We want to give a shout out to Josh for being professional and courteous!
I had a great experience at Public Storage in Cary. The property is always clean, secure, and well-managed. Josh, the property manager, was incredibly helpful and made the entire rental process smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend this location to anyone needing reliable storage with excellent customer service.
Update to my older review based on my current experience at this PS facility: We recently rented two units in this facility based on my prior experience. Unfortunately, this time around, our experience has been poor. First off - the facility used to have an on-site human manager. Now they only have a virtual manager and when you try to call the facility, you only get voicemail. So, when you have an issue, you cannot reach a person and there is no representative on-site to address the issue. I can’t even imagine what would happen in an actual emergency at the facility! Beyond that, there is ONLY one cart for use. During my past experience, there were three carts. If there is anyone else at the facility at the same time as I visit, I usually won’t have use of the cart. In those cases, I have to leave and hope for better luck the next time because I am not physically able to carry my items down the stairs from the 3rd floor. The worst issue occurred when the elevator was also down. There was another customer trying to manage a full house move and the movers were having to walk items up the stairs to the unit. That is completely unacceptable and neither I, nor the other customer, were able to reach anyone at Public Storage to report the elevator outage or to get information for when the elevator would be repaired. The only reason that I am giving the facility any stars is because the temperature seems well controlled and the facility seems secure. But that is not enough for me to ever use them again if I need new storage space and I would never recommend them.

The property manager, Debra, was very helpful on my last visit. I’ve been a customer for over 7 years at this site, but I had to make some changes to accommodate my storage needs for my job. She helped me find another unit onsite, and facilitated the transfer, so I could do it all on the same day. Thanks!

TL;DR - This place sucks.
Rented a unit, five months in they jacked up my rent. I finally looked online and found the SAME size unit at the SAME facility for 50% of what I was currently paying.
I called and asked if they would match the new price or make me move all my shit across the facility. They told me NOPE, So I booked a reservation for the cheaper unit and scheduled my move out date. Move in date was tomorrow and I lose my current unit on Monday. Just went online to fill out the new paperwork and they gave away my reservation! Called support and they told me there’s nothing they can do.
Don’t rent here, they’ll screw you sooner rather than later. 👎👎

For those who care to read the rest of my rant, carry on...
I originally rented a large (10x15) unit from this location for $86/month in December 2023. May 2024 they jacked it up to $129/month. I called and asked why and they said it’s due to the demand, so suck it.
Now I understand how supply and demand works but I don’t think they do. As demand for something increases, generally the supply decreases. As supply increases, the demand tends to decrease as well.
The way it works at Public Storage facilities is they supply you with a unit and then DEMAND that you pay them whatever they feel like it, whenever they feel like it.
I’m a man of principle so that doesn’t work for me. I called PS and DEMANDED that they put my rent back to $86/month as I’m actively renting a unit so my unit is not up for grabs. (They didn’t care) :(
Let’s say they have 500 units and 400 people want a unit, they have 100 left over units to which they can lower the prices to try and entice people that may be on the fence to rent there (WARNING-Big Mistake).
As those units start getting rented - supply decreases and if demand holds, they can increase the price until they find the point of equilibrium - where everything is right in the world.
If you have a ton of people demanding a storage unit and some free up, those open units can command a pretty penny - ya know, since supply is low and all.
They shouldn’t consider rented units as part of the supply, but they do. Constantly forcing petty tenants like myself to look elsewhere - so I did. In fact, I found another large (10x15) unit right across the way at the same location for $55/month! Wow, lucky me, from $129 - $55 - LFG!
Booked it, scheduled the move-in and the move-out, mentally prepared myself for the clusterfak that is about to ensue in 7 short days.
Except, when I went to dot my t’s and cross my i’s - they gave it away!
No! How could that be?!
I tried calling PS and got absolutely no one, their customer service department is just as vacate as their state-of-the-art DIY rental offices. Through the chat bots I go! After much back and forth, they basically told me to go pound sand.
After searching far and wide, I found a new storage facility that would rent me a unit for a mere $80/month, HAH take that!
Cleared out my unit and moved on, or so I thought.
Finally got settled and then comes a bill for $129! Huh?!
After some quick detective work,I find that more money was auto-drafted from my account, except I don’t have auto-draft turned on for my account!
I tried contacting them to get this resolved but nobody answers the phones, the live chat just loops you over and over and tells you to contact them again during their business hours of 8a-9p (I am - 2p).
Frustrated and done playing their games, I disputed the charges via my CC and hope this will be the end of this nightmare.
If any of this sounds appealing to you - then I would highly recommend renting a storage unit here.
Move-in was mostly fine, but downhill since then. Rent has doubled in a year and the gate regularly fails to work (with a repair truck sometimes blocking the entrance). Very disappointed.

I was provided a storage unit with accessibility issues due to that I requested for change of unit. I was additionally charged some money which was promised to be refunded in 72hrs but didn't happen. I need to talk to them again in customer care once I am back from my international trip. Access code also doesn't work as unit associated in my account is still old one. Annoying experience
I’ve been using this Public Storage facility for several months now, and overall, I’m quite satisfied. Its location is incredibly convenient—just a few minutes from my house—and the price is reasonable as well.
The only drawback for me is their operating hours. I really wish they were open later, as I often need to drop things off or pick them up around 10–11 PM. It’s a bit frustrating because their system is fully automated, and there are no staff members on-site. Many other storage facilities have extended hours, so it’s unclear why they can’t adjust their schedule.
That said, everything else about this facility meets my expectations, and I don’t plan on switching anytime soon.

I had a great experience at Public Storage. Debra at 3828 Hwy. 55, in Cary was awesome!!! She was very patient and answered all of my questions and trust me, I had many. Thank you Debra for your wonderful customer service and kindness. I will definitely recommend this specific Public Storage to others.
Storage room is nice but that's it. I went there Sunday and it would not take my code. I had driven an hour to get there. Since there's not a person there anymore, I couldn't get help that way. Came back again today and the same thing happened. This time I was mad and tried calling. When I finally got through, the man who helped me did get the job done. I've had this room a while and now suddenly my code needs reset? Also a victim of prices being raised after I got my unit. Can't wait to move somewhere else.

Debra got me the unit I needed, and did it with a smile. She even stayed after closing to make sure I was taken care of and answered all of my questions. Facility was clean and well taken care of, and I got the online rate rather than the in-store one. Highly recommend!
there has been a car parked in front of my unit making impossible to access my unit for a month. i spoke with the general manager Jason after several hours on the phone with a menu that does not work , there is no customer service number to call whatsoever. he told me he was going to have the car towed last week, i went today the car is still there and still no customer service number to call and nobody to help.

I selected Public Storage because it was easy to book a unit same day and close to my current place. There are several locations but the manager Dawn at 3828 NC55 Hwy in Cary will give you a clean storage unit. Security is great and the app is easy to use. I even had a friend book one on the same day since they were that great. Thanks Dawn for taking such good care of us.
Extremely difficult to get in touch with the rental office by phone or in person. No one ever seems to be available for questions/to provide help. The storage unit itself is fine, though.
I purchased a storage unit via auction and the day I arrived to clear it out, Katherine was wonderfully helpful to me. She went above and beyond and I was there for a one day clear out. It was a great experience.

Really disappointed. I rented online and never entered the facility. Ours plans changed. A week after the move-in date, the manager calls to ask how the space is, I told her we never moved in (don't they check their locks???) and expected they'd refund us since we never entered the property. She said she'd check, and I get an email refunding me for the lock I didn't need to being with and another confirming I'd been moved out. So, I pay for insurance, taxes, and a storage unit for a month I never moved into a week after renting it. She never called to see if we wanted to use it for the next three weeks or telling me they weren't going to refund me. I'm surprised they don't do daily lock checks on the outdoor spaces and didn't contact me sooner or automatically refund me. My experience in the past with Public was great. Things change.
Everything is great in the beginning until after the first 6-9 months when they all buy double your rate and continue to increase it very often. Between that and now having issues with paying my bill, I am done and already found a better place that I’ll be moving my things to shortly. Twice it had happened in the last few months alone that I have paid my bill only to then get multiple messages that I didn’t. Just today this happened again where I paid my monthly for the second time early this morning (and even a late fee which I should NOT have had to pay) and yet AGAIN I just got a text and two emails saying I did not pay my bill and they are adding late fees. I just don’t get it. So now once again I have to call with my payment confirmation numbers and argue about this. Totally unacceptable and there are tons of other storage places in Cary that have just as good if not better storage units and will now price gouge you and won’t basically punish you for being a loyal customer by constantly increasing your rate
Super easy and efficient process. I was able to do everything online. And then the follow up to confirm everything was great. Super friendly service. But if you don’t want to talk to anyone, you never have to. (And the storage space itself is exactly what you would expect.)
We had a wonderful inside unit for a year and the experience and customer service was great. The only bad and unfortunate part about our time renting was that when we moved out we noticed we had lots of things that were missing, like canned food, our baby stoller, all of our dishes and some other personal items. The price also jumped up about 90 bucks. We went from paying 120 to 200 a month and that caught us off guard, but overall the service was great and it was a nice clean facility

You can do everything online and the app is great to have with it. The place is clean and well maintained and I feel my belongings are safe with the security they have in place.
I did everything online and was extremely painless and simple. When I finally moved to NC from Colorado and went to my unit that too was very simple and painless also!
STAY AWAY!!! THEY WILL CONSTANTLY RAISE THE RENT JUST BEACAUSE.

I have been renting since February 2022. In October, my. rent increased by 25% with no explanation. No additional security was added, no additional personnel to the office, no additional access features, no changes to the units. When asked why the increase I was directed to the Corporate Office. I sent 2 emails and received no response. I understand periodic increases may be necessary, but felt a 25% increase WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION was excessive. Receiving no response was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
Daniel was a tremendous help to me today and made everything clear and concise. Used this location in 2017- 2018 when I first moved to the area and everything was reasonably priced and easily accessible. Glad to be back here again for the next few months until the next move!

I just want to thank the District Manager Jason, Property Manager Daniel, and Property Manager Sarah for ALL of their help. I went to one public storage unit on hwy 55 but the power was out. The District Manager greeted me and let me know the issue but immediately referred me to the other public storage right down the street. I went and was greeted by Sarah and Daniel. They both took time to help me and even honored the promotion I had reserved for the other public storage location. They have been such a big help and if you’re in need of a storage unit then this is the place to reserve your storage space❤️
Left my keys to my locker . They were generous enough to cut my lock off . Very professional and kind.

Daniel has been spectacular! I've had a storage unit for 2 years and Daniel has managed the property since my time there. He was always very positive and helpful anytime I dropped by. There was even a time when he saw some water near my unit and he notified me so I could check on my items. He delivered 5 star service for sure.
The property itself is very clean. There are large elevators to hold your larger items and they offer a few carts to assist with your move.
