Big thank you to Morgan and Nes, they helped me navigate my transition from several units the other week and made my life absolutely easier.
Had my things in storage for 3 months, came back to find over half my things were molded. I pulled a box spring out and a family of Rats jumped out and startled me, I slammed the box spring down and killed one of them. There was rat droppings all over the place. Im currently in contact with the insurance for my lost items (living room, clothing, cords chewed thru, furniture). This is ridiculous. I wish I had read these comments before using them, but it's good these comments are recorded because it shows the issue was addressed and never fixed. I'll leave this tidbit of info so you don't have to look it up yourself...
To report an unsanitary storage facility in Virginia Beach, contact the city's Code Enforcement through the City of Virginia Beach portal to register a code complaint. You can also submit a complaint to the City Manager's Office or the Virginia Beach Police Department, or dial VB311 to report issues and request services from the city. Be prepared to provide detailed information about the violation, including the location and nature of the unsanitary conditions.

This place is rat infested I lost everything. There is no way they have this good of a rating. It doesn’t matter what you store the rats will bite through your boxes eat the cords on your appliances. This place is disgusting. Do not store your things here.
I had my items in storage for about 1 and a half months. Boxes were wet. My clothes in the wardrobe boxes were shredded inside was a mouse. I heard it as I was taking out the clothes. I lost 80 percent of my clothes due to this. So over $1,000 gone! . Plus my couches also had white stuff on it from them getting wet. Not sure if there was a leak in the roof or water got in under the door. Don't use them.

Rats, I learned a great deal about what rats are capable of destroying and for no apparent reason, equally aggravating is the staff, constant harassment, walking by staring in your unit.
If you use the app you'll be treated to all sorts of offers if you'll only just sign up for auto pay, they're practically begging, $500 sweepstakes if you sign up for auto pay, discounts for this or that if you sign up for auto pay.. I once wondered why is this?...
Then I found out, extreme rent increases in less than one year my rent went from $90 per month to $300 per month, sign up for auto pay and you won't have to worry about noticing this.
At first I figured I'd be punishing Public Storage by moving out to a competitor nearby with prices locked in for 12 months, but that's silly, they want me to move out so you'll move your stuff here while you're over seas or in Nebraska for 2 years or wherever and can't move out, well I'm definitely getting out of your way.
There's better storage options practically within sight of this facility.

Absolutely DO NOT use this storage facility. Their units are open at the top giving the units access to huge RAT'S!! The rats chew through boxes and leave rat feces everywhere. The business still expects you to pay monthly and requires YOU to get rid of the rats! The claims department requires you have receipts of your personal items no matter the age of the items in order for you to be compensated for any damage. The infestation is so bad she has decided to relinquish her belongings for fear of health concerns and damage. This business will not accept any accountability for their rat infestation. By no means should any consumer be desperate enough to use this facility. It is absolutely disgusting and vagrants literally live in some of the units. The customer service my daughter and I did not receive was deplorable!! I cannot stress to the consumers to absolutely by any means necessary to not put your items in this particular public storage! I am still trying to figure out how to get this place shut all the way down.
Do not rent from this place. We had to take everything out of our unit that we were renting for $283/month because there was pollen and rat feces (all those little black dots) all over the place. I can get past the pollen since it’s an outdoor unit, but they obviously have no pest control systems in place. I’ve rented from other facilities both indoor and outdoor and I’ve never seen anything this bad. Another patron was moving out the same day and said his unit was the same way. I highly recommend Prime storage, instead. The pricing is comparable and I never had any pest issues with them.

Terrible experience moved out of state called to have my rate lowered was told rate was being lowered but instead they tried to raise my rate $100 extra a month thinking I was out of state.
Once they tried to finagle more money out of me thinking I was out of state, I had my stuff out within 3 days. HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT RELY ON THEM TO DO FAIR BUSINESS BE WARNED!!
I WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER UNIT FROM PUBLIC STORAGE. Prices gradually increased and because I badged in the gate the same day my unit closed out I was charged the whole next month. CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD GET ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE. They couldn’t do anything to help me.

I am glad I didn't go with Public Storage. Too expensive and almost double what other storage units in the area charge. Do some shopping around before you commit to this place and you'll notice the huge price difference.
What a great experience at Public storage on Holland Road in Alexandria not only due to the facilities being well-maintained and in order but the biggest reason for it is glowing review is Jaszmin at the office. There was a slight issue with my son’s online reservation. Jaszmin went out of her way making multiple phone calls to correct the situation while taking care of two other customers. I would call her a multitasking extraordinaire. She then personally walked us up to the storage unit made sure that everything was just as it should be. She made sure we didn’t have any other additional questions and assured us that if we had any further issues or questions she would be there for us. My son is military and I am his mom that drove down from Buffalo New York to help him for the day today. For us military families we know how plans can change and things can get pretty fast paced. Kudos to Jaszmin for helping us not only stay on schedule with my quick visit to help but also doing so with a very polite courteous and helpful manner. She is an asset to your company hang onto her, she’s a good one. Thank you.
