Reviews
This is the second time we have experienced very unprofessional and racial bias behavior at this location. Specifically on this incident BLAIR is extremely rude and non engaging manager. My husband and I entered before 5PM to drop off our belongings after a camping trip per usual. Blair, who I later found to be the “manager” walked by us with headphones in. We had to speak out loudly, 3 times to get his attention for assistance on locating more push carts. His response “I don’t know, I’m closing up”. Very dry and rude as if he couldn’t be bothered to help us. He then walked by 2 more times while we unloaded our truck and staged items by the elevator. As we get ready to put our things on the elevator, Blair for the third time walks by us stating that they are closed. When informing him that we are just dropping off and wouldn’t be long, he then walked away. After trying to get on the elevator, I could not get access to go to our floor. Once he walked by again, I asked him if he could let us upstairs so we can drop off our things. He then accuses me of yelling at him prior and continues to ignore me. This is an example of abuse of power. This man walked past my husband and I several times prior, he never engaged or looked at us. There wasn’t any help with finding a cart, he never gave us a warning that the elevator would be inoperable after closing even if patrons are still in the building. He literally stood back and watched each time as we unloaded our truck. I have been to my storage unit several times after a camping trip, and never had any problems before. We typically show up around 430 and they close at 5. We are normally out of there a little after closing. I personally feel singled out due to racial bias because of how engaged and friendly Blair was with the other non-BIPOC patrons. Blair is very rude, dismissive and not a good individual to be in management.
But like stated before this is not our 1st negative interaction with this location. I think it would be wise for HR or Corporate to enroll all employees in DEI training.
I was instructed to sign in at the front desk before moving stuff into my unit. No one was at the front desk when I arrived, the door was locked, and I wasn’t able to connect with a person when I called. After waiting for 10+ minutes, I managed to get my access code on my own, and began to move stuff in. Almost got locked in the stair well (the doors lock behind you and there’s nowhere to enter an access code to open it from the other side), but luckily there was someone that heard me knocking and let me out. Side note: closing at 5pm on weekends and 6pm on weekdays is absolutely ridiculous.
Jamie is incredible and super helpful! She gave me a comprehensive and full overview of all my options and was very patient while I figure out which option is best for me. Highly recommend! Best service in storage!
Jamie helped me out and she was really great! This is a great location!
Jamie was kind, patient and over all very supportive throughout the entire process. Clean and well maintained facility. Understanding and supportive staff.
Thank you Jamie!
Literally all the staff member here is amazing. I came here 5min before closing but they were actively helping me out for over half an hour without looking irritatedkind. Big respect.
Friendly staff
JAMIE IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! This was by far the BEST public storage experience I’ve had and I owe that all to Jamie, extremely helpful, patient and kind hearted individual!
The front desk recipient Jamie is so friendly! She really clearly explained to me how to use the APP and the lock. The check-in process was so quick and easy. I’m so glad I chose Public Storage.
I've been renting from Public Storage for almost 3 years and the facility has been mostly great. They struggled with finding good people for a long time with some providing horrible customer service or conflicting information but this 5 star review is specifically for Jamie. She went above and beyond to help us with renting a new space. She was friendly, efficient and quick! I am so happy she is now the new property manager there!
Good customer service! Troy helped me figure out how to locate my unit and also taught me how to use the lock even though it was just about closing time.
I love my Public Storage because the staff there is always so helpful and friendly, especially Emma is so so helpful! She always helps me with anything I need, when my volunteers don’t show up she is always right there to give me a hand. It’s obvious she really cares about making sure I am happy with their service.
If you need a place to store your things, I definitely suggest checking out Public Storage. They have a really nice facility and the staff will make sure your stuff is safe and secure. Whether you need to store things for a little while or a long time, Public Storage has got you covered.
Jamie was awesome, amazing service.
Thanks so much to Jamie for working so hard to get me the best deal and the unit I wanted. Really appreciate the patience and kindness.
Coquita and Jamie are a wonderful team. Thanks
Jamie helped me out today to open a storage unit and she was very nice and wonderful. Made the process super easy for me and informed me of everything I would owe.
Great service. Easy to navigate the app. Jamie was super helpful.
I’ve been working with the 12th and Denny Public Storage since January 2021, first as durable power of attorney for a friend and now as the executor of her will.
The staff have been great, including their extraordinary efforts for two basement water leaks over the years, neither of which were the fault of the facility or staff.
My only frustration was that occasionally the staff are out working with clients and not available in the office—but that only happened twice over the three years.
Matthew was extremely helpful in ensuring I was able to access my unit and secure it. He’s a delight, and an asset to your company!
emma made the move in super stress free and easy and was extremely helpful
Great customer service with Emma ,Devon and The one representative (I forgot your name!) that helped when I arrived close to closing to pay my bill.
Good choice renting at this location, I’ve had to move with last minute changes, they were helpful and informative.
Update March 2024. Unfortunately , since renting a new unit in the fall of 2023 I have had a very poor experience. Our unit flooded and we were given the option to change to a unit on a different floor, maintaining our same rate. Rate. Now several months later, they are increasing the price $40 per month, which is super predatory and really just a bummer of a way to practice business. I will be working on changing locations.
Davon was extremely helpful. He really went above and beyond
Davon — He has been extremely helpful and always strikes up a wonderful conversation. Every time we come in to get new things done he is so kind about it. Thank you!!
Davon was immensely helpful with my experience here at this Public Storage location. Easily the best team member I’ve had the pleasure in meeting in years.
Very understanding and will work with you with care.
Davon was great, super easy to rent and very helpful.
The prices here truly can't be beat but you are absolutely getting what you pay for.
The access hours are pretty inconvenient and one of the elevators has been "out of order" for over a month with no indication that it's going to be fixed anytime soon. The one elevator that does work barely works and it feels like you need to pray that it will take you to the floor you want to go to.
On top of that the office is frequently empty with nobody on staff even during hours when it should be open.
I would highly recommend going somewhere else if you can afford it.
Worst service I've experienced in my 30 years of life. If it's not flooding, it's an elevator broken, BUT all the floor access doors are locked shut. It's always just shy of a major inconvenience. I regret so much that I chose this place to move all my storage into.
So I came across this place via a third party website and I got my 5 by 10 unit for a fantastic price. When I arrived to take a look at the unit and return the lock that they so graciously put on my table and allowed me to use if I needed it. Only to find out that there was an entire corner of my unit that was cut out by a support beam. After inquiring at the front desk why it seems that I'm missing a huge chunk of my unit and asking to look at a regular 5x10, I was informed that my unit may not be a 5 by 10 but the square feet are equal to that of a 5x10. If I wanted to get a regular 5 by 10 with no corners taken out just squared walls my monthly fee would go up by almost $40. Know if in fact my cheap price was because of this cutout corner I feel that I should have been informed of this when I reserved the space but there was nothing mentioned nothing at all. That's insane. It took me a little while to move my things in and I didn't add my own lock because I didn't have anything in the unit. And then one day I received an email saying thanks for choosing public storage for your storage needs you're all moved out. Apparently if they walk by your unit and you don't have a lock on it they just consider you to have moved out and finalize your paperwork and say see you later.
On top of that access to your unit stops at 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday what kind of hours are those? And the cherry on top of all of this is that every time I've been there there has only been one cart to take your belongings from your car to your unit. Today I had to wait for over 20 minutes for a cart so I could take my small load to my unit without having to carry each box individually.
If the price that I found was not such a fantastic deal I would have moved out of here in a heartbeat.
I do not recommend this storage facility. (It used to be a pretty decent spot to rent from a couple years ago, but it seems to have really taken a turn.)
Now there are rarely carts available (just buy more carts!). The hours for access start in the very early morning hours instead of also including evening hours when many people would actually be able to come to their units.
One of the elevators has been broken for a week and a half or more, with only one remaining elevator available for use by the entire facility. Or you can try hauling your stuff up/down in the stairwell. And then yesterday we had to help someone who had gotten stuck in the stairwell and even though there are security cameras no one from the office had come to help.
I've been using Public Storage units off and on for over about a decade in different States and because of their excellent services, I don't need to try another storage unit company. Jeff's help today to set up another unit for me was grade A and Public Storage is lucky to have an employee like him.
If you're thinking about renting from this location don't hesitate the staff is incredible especially Jeff he is so knowledgeable and helpful he makes the whole process extremely easy and on top of it he is just a wonderful customer service representative for the company I give him five thumbs up!!!! Kudos to Jeff, give that man a raise! 🙂
Awful. We have unfortunately had to deal with this storage unit off and on for years. They have been consistently terrible. The office is often just closed even during our if they're supposed to be open marked business hours. The phone customer service is virtually useless. They have no way to reach their manager at the facility directly.
On top of all that, the customer service both in person and over the phone is less than stellar. Jeff (site Manger) is unpleasant and uninterested in actually attempting to help.
If this was a one-off I would definitely not be inclined to leave a review but since this is now many incidences that have all resulted in similar outcomes, we are definitely talking about a feature not a bug.
Coquita at Public Storage exceeded my expectations with her exceptional customer service. Her knowledge, efficiency, and friendly approach made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I'm thoroughly impressed and highly recommend her assistance for anyone looking for storage solutions.
Hope you have no need to move and get into your storage unit anytime after 5pm on the weekends. There’s never any carts and the hours are stupid. This place is awful. If it means access after 6 I would literally go any place else instead of this garbage heap.
Evan was a blessing. Very helpful!
Coquita and Anthony went above and beyond to help our family with our storage locker !
Evan M at the Capitol Hill location was super helpful and made renting the unit quick and easy! Thank you!
Good location, had a great experience here before. Although trying to buy supplies today and it's closed even though website says it's open.
Coquita was the best, made sure I got what I needed and provided the best customer service! Thank you!
The staff here is always nice. The facility is clean.
Be ready for abrupt rises in rent after the first few months of storage. Mine went from $130 to $180 in month 5. The access hours are also pretty limited: 6a–6p.
Just like their other locations.
Good service but once you are in they increase the rate 30%+ every year.
